SURVIVAL INSTINCT
Beasts. They are spread like a plague.
A plague controlled by a dying tribe, consisting of a single family, the final bloodlines.
The survivors huddle like rats, fearing for their lives, and defending their existence.
This is the story of the War, filled with blood, lust, and the mystic.
The survivors, as they're so aptly named for surviving the wilderness and wild Beasts, have taken up shelter in the high tech Misne compound, run by Raiko Shinte, and periodically send out search crews to find and aid various scragglers struggling in the wasteland. They also use the compound as a central defense force against the beasts and Zirafel tribe.
As for the Zirafels, the last of the Beast controlling tribes, they hole up in a large castle halfway across the desecrated (thanks to their Beasts and warring nature) continent, solid in their abilities and numbers. The individuals are always noted by their head of pure white hair, tribal tattoos given upon initiation as a warrior of the tribe, and the rare particular shape of their pupils in 8 pointed stars.
As the recent history of this story goes, its stated that the newest head of the Zirafel tribe has been the the most bloodthirsty ruler in years, thus thrusting their small continent into despair, destroying the once fertile land and making near impossible to simply survive in the wastelands. Its gone on this way for nearly 30 years...
However, within the grounds of the compound, the land has been protected and remain fertile and are constantly worked by the farmers there, in trade for their protection. New rescues are brought in daily by trained search crews, and the grounds patrolled by a special force, aided, by an even more precious resource of trained warriors in fending off the plague of the Beasts.
Many of those trained, or merely living at the compound, and those who have chosen to serve the Zirafel family include what are aptly named 'Bitten'. These special individuals have been attacked by Beasts, and instead of transforming into the shadow creatures in shapes of animals to be controlled by one with the power, they've undergone a mutation of the DNA altering disease, and now live as half humans, half animals. They are able to control this transformation at will, and many, wishing to deny their fate, remain in their human form, but that's not to discount those who choose to peruse about as half Beast or even full. These individuals are immediately screened upon their arrival at the compound, and read a special list of rights, including and not limited to refraining from fighting in the halls, as to avoid creating more of their kind, and creating a hazardous environment that threatens the peaceful lives of those living inside.
