Police/Criminal/Legal record: N/A

Occupation: Hero/S.H.I.E.L.D. agent/Avenger

Title/Rank: Ex-Air Force Special Operations Major

Powers:
Superhuman Strength: Carol is superhumanly strong and is typically able to lift about 50 tons. However, since she is able to absorb various types of energy, she can use this energy to temporarily increase her physical strength to levels similar to that of her time as Binary. Hence, she is ultimately capable of lifting in excess of 100 tons.

Superhuman Speed: She is capable of running and accelerating to high speeds which a human could never achieve.

Superhuman Stamina: Carol's musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. She can physically exert herself at peak capacity for about 24 hours before fatigue begins to impair her. However, she is capable of channeling absorbed energy to further increase her stamina to higher levels.

Superhuman Durability: The tissues of her body are considerably harder and more resistant to physical injury than those of an ordinary human. Captain Marvel is capable of withstanding high caliber bullets, great impact forces, falls from great heights, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, and powerful energy blasts without sustaining injury. While channeling the energy she has absorbed, her body's resilience is extended to an even greater degree, even allowing her to survive in the vacuum of space for extended periods of time.

Superhuman Agility: Carol's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Reflexes: Her reflexes are heightened in a similar manner and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.

Flight: Carol is capable of propelling herself through the air at tremendous speeds.

Seventh Sense: Part of her original power set as Ms. Marvel, Carol was subconsciously able to anticipate the moves of her opponents, though this power was not exactly reliable and activated randomly. After Rogue robbed her of her powers, she was subsequently transformed into Binary. After these powers faded, it seems that Carol's Seventh Sense has returned.

Near-Invulnerability: Carol possesses an amalgamated human/alien Kree physiology that granted her a degree of immunity to toxins and poisons, as well as a virtually indestructible body.

Minor Molecular Control: She can use absorbed energy to transform her regular clothing into her costume and vice-versa.

Photonic Blasts: Carol can fire powerful concussion blasts of photon and stellular light energy from her hands and fingertips.

Energy Absorption: Her body is capable of absorbing various types of energy for the purpose of temporarily enhancing her own physical attributes. She can augment her strength and energy projection up to the force of an exploding nuclear weapon. If empowered by enough energy, she can assume her Binary form again temporarily.

Skills:
Experienced Pilot: Carol joined the Air Force right out of high school, and is an accomplished pilot, among the top in the Avengers.

Expert Marksman: Before being granted her powers, Carol was a dutiful soldier/airman, and trained hard in all areas of combat, including the use of firearms.

Journalism: After being ousted by NASA, Carol wrote scathing articles on government secrets for Rolling Stone and several books she published herself.

Personal Characteristics

Personality: Overall, Carol is a very intense, and duty-driven woman. Her upbringing was full of being barred from challenges before she had a chance to meet them, and this has led to something of an ever-present urge to prove herself. Not just to those she sides with, or her enemies, but to herself. She has a tendency to leap into action with little forethought, though past experience has shown this to be rather effective, despite how it looks in the moment. Carol has the passion and conviction for superheroing, as well as the morals, to make her a very solid leader, but she is capable of following if she believes strongly enough in the person.

Since being granted her powers by Mar-Vell, Carol has found herself to be of incredible presence on the field of superheroes, but it has stripped her of the ability to adequately compete. Her love of taking risks, winning competitions by her own skill, and overall success in more mundane activities has been lost to her, as she is now incapable of taking real damage, or faltering in a physical sense. This has made her somewhat bitter, but she seeks to prove herself in other ways by keeping up with the "A-Listers" of the superhero community. Carol is quick to judge herself before others, and given her self-titled position as "the best" she tries to right her wrongs as quickly as possible.

In terms of relationships, she is not very easily befriended by others who share her alpha personality, as she subconsciously feels threatened by them. This can prove to be an issue in situations with larger groups, where more dominant personalities are found. She never really loses her competitive edge, even outside of superheroing. Favoring flying planes, as well as more simple and calm activities as poker, and she can be considerably easier to deal with once she's out of the hero mindset.

Likes: Carol is a fan of movies and fiction such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and the Lord of the Rings series. She is also an accomplished pilot, and adores the feel of flying planes.

Dislikes: There are times when Carol dislikes her own invulnerability, and she has never been too fond of snakes.

Background Story: Carol Danvers grew up as the oldest child of three in a traditional Boston home, with a contractor father who believed in the merits of hard work. When he built their Cape Cod summer home, Carol insisted on working as hard as her two younger brothers, trying to make equal in her father's eyes. A voracious reader, she dreamed of becoming an astronaut and traveling to distant planets; as a teen she even hitchhiked to Cape Canaveral to view a launch there. Her father however, could not accept women as men's equals, and when financial troubles meant he could only send one child to college, he chose middle child Steve despite Carol's superior grades. Carol graduated from high school first in her class and took a sales job.

She turned 18 just a few months later, and the following day she turned her back on her father and joined the Air Force, intending to be a pilot and to get a college degree via the military. Her brother Steve's death in military action would eventually draw Carol back to her family, but she still never felt truly accepted by her father. She quickly rose to the top of her Air Force class and was recruited into military intelligence (Special Operations) and trained as a spy. She accomplished many different missions and worked with other figures such as Logan Howlett(later Wolverine) and Benjamin Grimm (later the Thing), while oppressing others such as Victor Creed (later Sabertooth), and Natalia Shostakova (later the Black Widow).

NASA eventually requested her for an open position as head of security which she accepted, resigning from the Air Force bumping her to full Colonel at retirement. During her time in this position, Carol became aware of the interstellar conflicts surrounding the Kree alien empire, and also came into contact with Mar-Vell, better known as Captain Marvel. She took several missions, unbeknownst to those in charge of her, in search of more information on the aliens, and found herself embroiled in the schemes of the Kree.. Her interference led to her being captured by the alien Yon-Rogg, only to be saved by Mar-Vell. During Captain Marvel's fight with Yon-Rogg, in Carol's presence, she was knocked into a device known as the Psyche-Magnetron; the device altered her genetic structure with Kree DNA, and gave her the superpowers she now possesses.

However, she was unaware of her new superhuman standing for several months, and her interference in superhuman affairs nearly cost her the NASA career she'd worked so hard for, and she was moved to a less secure facility in Chicago. Displeased with her lowered position, she resigned from NASA, and wrote a book scathing the organization, which led to a best-selling book, and her position with Rolling Stone magazine. During this time at Rolling Stone, she experience black-outs in which she'd don her black, red, and yellow costume and turn into a raging Kree warrior. Eventually she was stopped by the Avengers, and when her true dual nature was revealed, Captain Marvel surfaced to show her how to control her powers. After a short solo career, taking on the likes of a few more Skrull incursions out in space, she found her place in the Avengers; all the while trying to reestablish herself in a normal career not related to superhuman business.

During a patrol outside New York City, Carol came into contact with several dangerous mutants; the criminal Rogue among them. In an attempt to stop them, Carol's powers and personality were drained by Rogue, and she was left for dead near Xavier's Mansion before being rescued by Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew. Finding that she had lost much of her memory and her powers, she sank into something of a depression, and even became an alcoholic for a short time. Between Xavier, the X-Men, the Avengers who'd helped her to be discovered in the first place, and her new friend Jessica, she got back on her feet; using her remaining powers of energy absorption, she took the mantle of Binary and fought alongside the X-Men in their endeavors for a time.

After serving as Binary for several months, Rogue resurfaced, and in a second fight against the mutant, which she ran into alone, Carol's own genetic structure and its adaptions melded somewhat with Rogue's. In the aftermath, Carol found her powers, as well as her memories returned. Thanking the X-Men for their help, she was invited and accepted into the Avengers, where she serves even to this day.

(( For the rest of her history leading up to following final paragraph, please read the Carol Danvers page of the Marvel wikia.))

Nearing the end of the war between the X-Men and the Avengers, Carol was among the first of the Kree-powered superheroes to become un-brainwashed. She was the first to reach the body of Mar-Vell, the original Captain Marvel, where she realized he had just given his life to spare the planet Hala from the Phoenix, and upon seeing his sacrifice he was able to pass on the mantle of Captain Marvel to her.
