Seriously, I couldn't resist....and the announcement made perfect sense.
In case anyone is interested, the glitch preventing transfer of guilds to new owners was still there on 8/29 and probably is now. Someone explained that a guild could still be transferred if a mule account had been made captain...we were trying to decide if all guild transfers were glitched or only some.
I am learning more and more about how guilds and clans are run and how they are alike and different. I have been a clan VC and am currently clan and guild crew. I've been considering starting a guild, but continue to be undecided. That was how I met Hope.
I hope everyone finds this guild as interesting and helpful as I have. It seems to address primarily role-playing guilds at this time, and until very recently the three rp's i was in moved at a snail's pace. I've given up one, one had only one or two entries over the summer, and one I haven't checked on in a while. In the past month, I've started informal rp'ing in several charity threads where I've been hanging out.
A good friend started an rp guild with an irl friend who's very experienced in guilds, and that rp is very active (I am, in fact, following it in another tab now). Three of us and our friends provided the core group. The other rp guild I just joined does not seem to be coalescing, but recruits largely came from Gaia Guilds subforum. I suspect that rp success is boosted by a core group of experienced players or already-close friends. I also have learned that formal rp is a lot more demanding than casual role-playing in a thread.
If anyone else wants to share how they found their way into this thread - or anything else - feel free to post! If you quote me, i will come back and talk with you.
