full name : Laveda May Kovak
meaning and origin : Erik did not name Laveda; she chose the name herself after finding a baby name book in a box while cleaning up. For a while, he didn't refer to her as any name at all, but began to call her 'May' before she chose a name for herself. (After a short period of simply referring to her as 'the cleaner'.) This became her middle name, and she took his last name as hers.

fillerfillerPERSONALITY When she is first summoned, Laveda will be rather reserved and lacking confidence, but frightfully polite and proper. She does as she is told, and does what she assumes people expect her to do, or want her to do. She's considerate of others, and is kind; she truly wants to help Erik mend his relationship with his daughter, no matter the reluctance from both parties. She likes to help other people when they're in need, but sometimes does it not because she wants to, but because she believes she is expected to.
She will also initially be very self aware of what she thinks others think of her, which is why she will try to act how she is 'supposed' to; to make them have a good opinion of her, rather than a bad one. She likes it when people like her, but seems rather resigned to nobody liking her at all. After all, Erik certainly doesn't seem to.
She is surprisingly courageous, for someone so initially demure, and often refuses to back down from certain things, while others she will simply resign herself to and accept.
She's rather impulsive despite her sense of responsibility; contradictory, considering she seems the type to think things through. But, to be fair, she is new at this whole 'living' thing, and has a lot to learn.
As she grows, she will grow more of a backbone, becoming stubborn, strong willed, and confident. This will come from living with Erik, who is a harsh man at first, and will force her to stand up for herself verbally. Eventually, this will turn into actual advice from him as he grows to care for her.
She has a habit of getting into unintentional messes, and trying to clean them up, often to even more disastrous results.
She has a temper, which Erik chocks up to her red-gold hair, and it flares up when enough frustration builds. She's very stubborn, though, and usually doesn't let it show. When it does, however, it means that a large number of things have bothered her.
Laveda cannot abide by a mess, of any kind. Whether it's a mess of a situation, a relationship, or simply a room, she feels obligated to clear and clean it. Whether from a spot of OCD, or because of her ability, she will compulsively straighten crooked things, and try to soothe fights.
Lonely, she often talks to herself, as Erik is really no use at conversation in the beginning. She eventually grows frustrated with him, though, and begins to show her bossy side. This is what whips him into shape, surprisingly; the little cleaning red-head, bossing around the big bad factory worker.
She is also terribly nosy, something she just can't help. When you're cleaning, after all, you find all sorts of things.
It's not her fault.
Really.
She does feel guilty after doing 'bad' things, though, and tries to find a way to make it up to the person - to mend the situation, if you would. It doesn't always go well, but she tries.
Because of how reserved she usually is, Laveda would love the opportunity to 'go wild', as it were. With the right person, she would really open up, and become quite the terror.
