I'd advise saving your money and not rushing out to get new $60+ titles. With the holidays coming up, you'll find tons of Black Friday deals and stuff. Naruto games come out like twice a year. Wait for a price drop because once it becomes obsolete, its loses all value and sits on a shelf collecting dust at $9.99. Consider a rental. Redbox now lets you borrow games for $2 a day.

Dead Space 2, Resident Evil 5, & Splatterhouse are all high rated horror games which you can find for under $20.

Cheap RPGs I'd recommend which you can get for under $20 include Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia, Magna Carta 2, Eternal Sonata, Resonance of Fate, & Fallout 3..

If you're looking for brand new titles, as I said, wait for Black Friday and check places like Toys R Us (last year they had a 'buy any one game, get any other game for $5) or Amazon (usually have 50% off or buy one get one free deals).

In terms of shooters you've got a ton of new highly anticipated ones to choose from. Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3.. although I'm hearing fans are starting to get tired of how all MW games seem to feel identical.

The big games I'm most looking forward to during the holiday sales are Batman Arkham City, Dark Souls, & Assassin's Creed Revelations. I personally like RPGs, fighting & adventure titles.

Stay the hell away from Fable 3, Brink & X-Men Destiny.

sadly i didnt get this post before i rented brink ..... and you were quite right the AI in the game sucked and trying to find a full human game was a big waste of my time.

and iv played magna carta for a short while and it was entertaining to say the least.

sadly i bought fable 3 three weeks after it came out and WOOOOO that was a major disappointment for Lion head and due to fable 3 i DO NOT PLAN ON GETTING FABLE 4

now assassins creed i kinda sorta thought that they never should of made brother hood the Multiplayer became a run an gun game instead of a sneak and stealth kill your opponent type of game which made it really sad for MP now story for it was solid enough accept the ending i think they could have done
a better end for it then they did

I have to agree with Showdown. If you are just getting an Xbox 360, then you have missed out on some great titles. Just off of the top of my head, I ca recommend:
-Elder Scrolls IV
-Gears of War (1 and 2)
-ALL THE HALO GAMES!!!!! (1 and 2 were Xbox and PC titles so they are a bit harder to find)
-Batman Arkham Asylum
-Fallout 3 (as well as New Vegas)
-The Assassin's Creed series
-Dragon Age: Origins
-Resident Evil 5
-Dead Rising (1 and 2)
Final Fantasy XII (I liked it anyway...)
-Some of the lego games are good if they are based on a series you like

Of course these are just some of my old faves but there are countless other great titles for the 360 that are sitting in the bargain bin at your local Gamestop. And hey, if the game has online coop *coughs* Resident Evil *coughs* and you happen to get it, I would be more than happy to play through it with you.
