Kirin looked up at Tanner before looking away from him. "N-no... It's not you... I had said that I was never in a relationship that should be mentioned... That's different from simply not ever having a relationship..."

He thought for a moment. "Hey Rin? If It's too soon for you, let me know." Tanner said. "I can wait, and If you don't want to be with me, that's fine."

"It's alright," Rin said, turning back to him. She kissed him on the cheek lightly with a gentle smile. "I just... haven't even considered starting a new relationship after what happened in the past... You caught me by surprise is all, but I'm fine now..."

Tanner smiled widely, he returned her kiss before picking her up with ease. He leaned back against the wall before sliding down. "Would you mind telling me about It? You don't have to, I'm just carious." He said as he messed with her hair a bit.

Kirin yelped lightly when she was picked up, her face turning red. She lowered her gaze slightly as Tanner played with her hair. "U-um... just a relationship that didn't turn out well, a year or two before E-Day..." She shut her eyes and tried to remain calm. As Tanner messed with her hair, her hair parted strangely in one direction and revealed a scar underneath. There were a few hidden scars: the one on the back of her head, one on the inside of her left thigh, one on her right hip, and one just over her heart.

Tanner froze when he saw the scars, he fixed her hair and wrapped his arms around her waste. He glanced down at the two rings he had on his ring finger. TK took one off and flipped It between his fingers as he thought about his wife and the kid they had before E-Day.

Kirin opened her eyes slightly and looked at the rings with half opened eyes. She knew about Tanner's past with his wife and kid and sighed softly. With a kiss on the cheek, she then laid her head in the crook of his neck. "I'll tell you if you want... but you... you don't have to say a word about your past..."

"Alright..." He said before putting his wife's ring back on his finger, he starred across the room and let out a quite sigh.

Kirin looked up at him slightly before shutting her eyes. After a deep breath, she started her story first. "A year or two before E-Day, I had met a guy... He seemed like the greatest person anyone could wish for... He proposed and I had said yes... but it went all downhill way before the marriage... He tricked me into the basement of his house and there... I was basically kept prisoner for a few months... No one sent out a missing person's report because I was never really close to anyone before, and no one missed me... I wasn't a fighter back then like I am now, and I was... well, in short terms, abused and raped..." She paused as a shudder ran down her back, shutting her eyes again and another tear escaped. Her hands instinctively went to cover the scar on the inside of her thigh and the one on her hip. If she had enough hands, she would cover her heart and head too. "The only light I saw for a while was a single candle... While I was left alone, I used the flame of the candle to melt my engagement ring slowly, bit by bit to mold it just enough so it would still fit on my finger yet had a sharp point... When he came back..." Kirin shook her head and wiped her eyes, but she couldn't explain anymore of that part of the story. "After that, once I escaped and was fully healed, I worked extensively on learning to fight... The house was left alone until E-Day, so by now, the body and my prison are now destroyed... No one knows about it, because there would be no point in bringing a dead man to court... No one knows and never will know... other than me... and my only proof of that nightmare is the scars..."

Tanner couldn't help but hug her. "I swear to you, I'll NEVER do anything like that! I don't understand why people want to do that, It's wrong...." He said as he held back tears, he understood Kirin's pain now.

Kirin buried her face into his chest as she cried quietly. She was never a loud and whiny sob-er like some people, but cried in silence. A shudder ran down her spine every so often but that was it. "Th-thank you..." she whispered quietly, almost inaudible.
