Mystique wandered down the streets of Clarus Arbor enjoying the sunlight. She had returned to town to pick up a few things she had forgotten at her parents’ house. She was currently waiting for her mother to leave the house not wanting to get into another fight with her. She was wearing her academy uniform just in case she did run into her. Hopefully the pride of her daughter attending Makai Royal Academy would outweigh the fact that Mystique had different dreams, today at least.
The wind carried the scent of herbs to her nose causing her to sneeze. Looking around Mystique realized she had wandered farther then she had meant to. She had never been to this part of Clarus Arbor before. Deciding to explore she followed her nose to a small herb garden outside a modest house. She didn’t recognize most of the herbs but the few she did where commonly used in cooking. ‘I really need to take herbology,’ she thought to herself highly doubting that the house belonged to a cook. There was none of the scents she associated with someone who cooked for a living.
She leaned over and sniffed one of the unfamiliar herbs. Jerking up she sneezed, the smell was stronger than she had been expecting.

Kiarei had woken up early as per usual to do her daily routine. She wandered her small fields of herbs, tending to each one individually, making sure they were all healthy. It didn't take more than a few hours, really and, once she was done, she look her empty pitchers and headed for the nearby well to replenish her supply of water.
Many would have assumed that she was too weak to haul back so much water on her own, but underneath her slender curved and the folds of her kimonos was a hidden strength. Her arms were slender still, but were all muscle, all of which was gained from working a hard days work every day since she was young.
Having retrieved a satisfactory amount of water she began the trip back to her home, humming softly to herself. Already the sun was halfway across the sky when she made it back to her home and, by that time, she had a visitor. Blinking she set the jugs of water on the ground as gently as she could, ears perked as she observed the way the girl was dressed... As well as her ears and tail, which caused her eyes to widen.
"I... Can I help you?" she called out softly; seeing another mononoke was very rare for her.

Mystique spun around in surprise not having heard the other approach. She blushed as she realized that this must be the owner of the house. “I apologize for trespassing; I smelled the herbs and was curious.” Instinctively she waged her three tails in a sign she was friendly. A mischievous look crossed her face. “Though don’t mistake me for a cat, curiosity isn’t a trait reserved for them alone.” Her eyes danced with laughter as she suppressed the urge to giggle.
Growing serious she regarded the other mononoke. Giving a short respectful curtsy she introduced herself. “I’m Mystique Hunter, my family lives on the other side of Clarus Arbor.”

Kiarei blinked at the girl, slowly tilting her head as she observed her. Upon looking her over she noted that her ears were too slender to be wolf or coyote, thus also too slender to be feline. Her tails gave away the fact that she was some form of fox-like Mononoke, but she had not seen anything quite like her before.
"Oh! This is more a shop than anything. You aren't really trespassing." she responded, smiling warmly as she moved to set her freshly drawn water next to her house. "You don't look like a cat to me. You look like a fox."
There was something about the girl's demeanor that had her shifting nervously, her tail swishing behind her and her head tilting once again. Kiarei wasn't quite certain as to what to make of her. She seemed to be a very social and energetic creature, a type of person she wasn't very used to interrelating with given her social status at the Academy.
"It's nice to meet you, Mystique." she murmured, clasping her hands in front of herself. "My name is Kiarei. I... Can I help you with anything?"
