Formed after the devastation of Earth that resulted in the pre-Riiamar government being exiled out of the galaxy, The Unity single handedly brought peace to a ravaged planet. Rebuilding Earth even stronger and more advanced then before, it became the de-facto world-wide ruling body, headed by a council of six members who are never seen in public. It has a strong economy, and Earth has been rebuilt into a shining utopia, while the other planets suffer from lack of resources, technology, and support from Earth. The Unity believes Earth is the only planet that truly matters, since it was the home of Mankind.
Some centuries after the reunification of Earth, and the restart of interstellar travel, The Unity found massive caches of alien technology on Neptune and Venus, allowing them to advance to unheard of levels of weaponry, medical tech, cybernetics( which are banned), and other technology practically overnight. They formed the Terran Defense Fleet, a massive army with ultra-advanced weaponry, to police the solar system, and eventually, to find the exiled 'traitors to humanity' and destroy them.
It is not known what drives the hatred of human advancement through genetic or cybernetic enhancement, but it is not allowed in Unity controlled space, and they also have goals to kill any alien race they encounter.
Currently, you can find no unrest on Earth, but the other planets suffer, and the people of Mars,Venus, and the other planets are struggling just to survive under the brutal regime that sees all their resources go to building up Earth. Rebellion seems imminent....
The Unity does has a small reach into Riiamar space, but after years of countering them in secret, The Empire has kept them down to one hidden base in their galaxy, and the only known Unity supporters stay well hidden, infiltrating into various planets and scouting them for future attacks. After years of analyzing Unity technology, the Empire has come up with new gear of its own, and though immensely powerful, The Unity does not advance beyond their current tech levels, while the Empire does, making them a close, if not even, match.
Unity Military:
Based upon similar principles to the Empire, they have all of the same classes except Inquisitors, since psychic humans are seen as abominations. They do have the Infiltrator, a class based solely in the Riiamar Galaxy, that scouts planets and feels out recruits to their cause. They also make heavy use of clone soldiers.
Infiltrator: Based solely in the Riiamar Galaxy, these agents are all that is left of the Unity force that was sent centuries ago to scout the area. They are skilled in deception and stealth, and are trained to be exceptional hackers, assassins, and more. They study all alien life for weaknesses, and are usually the head of some anti-alien group that eventually gets crushed by the race they spew hate about, or the Empire, because they do not allow such prejudice to flourish. They have one hidden base in the Riiamar Galaxy, where they are trained from birth in their ways.
Unity Exclusive Technology:
Advanced Medical Technology: Cloning technology for replacement of limbs,tissue, and organs without the use of cybernetics of genetic modification.
Nanotech Weaponry: Still in basic stages in Riiamar, it has been perfected by The Unity. This technology delivers a variety of types of nanites (microscopic machines) that break down armor, weapons, and even ships on the molecular level, and due to their small size, energy shields cannot defend against them without a substantial overhaul that would weaken them against conventional attacks.
