Name: Lynd
Age: 20
Gender: Femle
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft/Rank: Wherhandler Apprentice
History: Lynd has always been interested more in what below the earth then whats on the surface, this is likely because her father was a miner and as a youth forever regaled her with tales of things he had seen and caves he had explored while searching for new mine sites. Despite her mothers consternation (she always wanted Lynd to take up a more feminine role in life) Lynd was pretty sure that she would follow in her fathers footsteps and take up a career in Minecraft. Which is precisely which she started studying as soon as she was old enough.

Life seemed pretty well set for Lynd and she was happy in her chosen path until quite suddenly another opportunity presented itself. During a trip to one of the major holds with her father at around the age of 18 Lynd was searched and given the opportunity to go to Benden Weyr and stand for a dragon. It was a hard decision to for Lynd to make but considering this just another opportunity she decided to give it try.

Once on the sands however the girl couldn't help but feel like she'd make a terrible mistake - she loved the Weyr and the Weyrfolk..but mining was in her heart and dragons while lovely creatures just weren't. Of course there was another option...an option she hadn't really thought about until the prospect of having a life partner like a dragon had come up, an option that could combine both mining and a partner - Whers!...and so Lynd stayed at the Weyr and took up Wherhandling to supplement her miner studies.

Description: Lynd is not exactly what most people think about when they think about Miners..or Wherhandlers for that manner. She's fairly slim and a bit on the tall side. Don't let her looks fool you however years of working in the mines as she studied minecraft and now working as a Wherhandler Apprentice have given her a wiry strength. Her hair is a dusty sort of brown that typically tied back to keep her out of her face and her eyes a grey-blue, although these aren't typical colors people associate with 'pretty' her soft features and slim build contribute to an overall attractive appearance.

Personality: Lynd is devoted to her craft, sometimes devoted to the point of obsession, once she has a goal in mind she'll rarely give up on it until she gets there. While this is sometimes a good thing it can also lead to trouble once in a while as her single minded outlook causes her to miss an alternate path which might have made things a bit easier in the long run. There are of course some instances where her obsessions are quite good - such as safety, having been in the mines before Lynd is more then a little bit aware of how important safety is - not only for herself but for everyone in the mine with her - and she can't stand to see someone shirking their duties in the safety department, in fact that's the one thing absolutely sure to get her temper up and she certainly won't hesitate to point out the errors of said person's ways.

Generally she's fairly good tempered, as long as everyone is doing their jobs and following the rules she doesn't see to much to get worked up over however once angered she tends to carry grudges for quite a long time - she rarely forgets a slight or mistake and the person who has angered her might have a good bit of work ahead of them if they want to get back on her good side.

Outside of work however she's not that hard to get along with and generally likes to have a good time, taking part in social gatherings and events happily enough although she's typically more of a listener then a talker she tends to get excited and go on long winded explanations whenever sometimes involving Minecraft comes up, and of course she's fond of the whers praising their good traits openly and often just as dragonriders praise the traits of theirs.

Lyndsk likes to be in charge or at the very least she likes for her opinions to be listened too, as far as she's concerned she's spent a good deal of time learning what she knows and everyone else should pay attention and profit from that hard earned wisdom. Thankfully for those round her Lyndsk is indeed a pretty smart creature and she's disciplined enough to buckle down and really focus when the need calls for it. She might be a green but she's got the head of a leader and when trouble comes knocking one can always count on Lyndsk to make sure everyone is where they are supposed to be or to call for help when its needed. Thats not to say she dosen't recall she's a green however, she knows her place in the world and is quite content with it.

Although typically not as tempermental as some of her comrades Lyndsk is easily agitated when it comes to people either not paying attention or not doing what she thinks they are supposed to be doing and she's rather rigid on what she thinks people are supposed to be doing most of the time. As long as everyone plays along however then she's more then happy to be pleasant natured. She is however a bit of a possesive creature...once she considers something 'hers' Lyndsk is unlikely to let it go easily, she thinks nothing of stoutly defending her choosen things from any sort of threat...and those choosen things range from her handler Lynd to the rooms they live in to the food she eats and the toys she plays with. If Lyndsk things she has just claim to do so then this green will defend something to her death.

My egg! It Hatched!..not that I was worried it wouldn't, no I always knew mine wasn't a dud, but I can't help being excited to record this anyways. This is the start of everything I have ever wanted.

She of course had the foresight that only animals seem to respect and decided to hatch in the middle of the night. I might have slept right through it if the rocking hadn't kicked her egg right out of the little holder I'd constructed near the hearth to keep it warm. Imagine the chaos that would have caused - newly hatched baby wher running amok in the middle of the night. It would not have been good. Thankfully of course that didn't happen - and I woke in time to turn over some glows and see her little green foot kicking out of her shell. It was sort of a bright green that foot and I have to say I was pretty pleased by that sight - a part of me I realized had hoped for a female partner...but I didn't want a gold and then be relegated to a breeding role. I suppose that's probably a bit of an oddity, not wanting a gold or a bronze but perhaps not so much so with whers as it it would be with Dragon candidates.

In any case as soon as I saw that little foot I was wide awake and hurrying to call for the blood porridge that I knew she'd be ravenous for as soon as she managed to get the rest of her shell off. As more of the shell fell off I was able to see that she wasn't just a plain bright green like that first peek had lead me to believe, no soon I could see that she was in fact quite boldly striped and held a variety of green shades on her. She's beautiful honestly though looks of course are not nearly the most important thing here.

I had already made the decision to bond us together through blood and that decision didn't seem to surprise the wherhandler master when I told him so, honestly I don't know why someone wouldn't blood their Wher...there dosen't seem to be a downside to it. Besides the initial cut anyways, which heals fast enough, the pain seemed more then worth it to me.

Blood porridge by the way? As vile as I figured it would be though she certainly scarfed it down fast enough and never misses the chance for more, suppose that its just something I"ll have to suck up and deal with - though I can't say I'm all that sad to know they don't need it for very long. Soon enough she'll be capable of eating regular meat.

Unlike dragons of course - where all the candidates tell me human and dragon know each other instantly - it's taken a bit of time for my green and I to get to know each other. She seems like a decent tempered little girl..maybe a bit possessive about her food and things. I've discovered her name is Lyndsk..which pleases me as it means that we are strongly bonded. I am sure that we are meant for great things.
