The Cosmos
I am not going to sugar coat this…. This is Omega, and this is a science fiction story of my caliber of weirdness. I am giving you all infinite opportunities to create masterpieces. For the Cosmos is Infinite, as is the potential of all things.
This Cosmos is Infinite This Cosmos is Undefinable Nobody even cares anymore. Earth is no more, the earth calendar is no more. The current most used calendar is that of the DreamPriests or the DrugPriests. Following the years of Urupsylon which years are over a thousand times the length of the earth year and it is currently the first aeon, the one hundredth and seventy first eon, the six hundredth and forty fourth millennium, and the fifth hundred and thirtieth year. The DreamPriests have it archived that the current cosmos is fifteen Aeons old.
The idea of the self is forgotten, or embraced above all. Though there are primitive races, most have gone to intergalactic organizations. The greatest is the of We Are. Lead by the DreamPriests. These beings, who can come from any race. They have the greatest understanding of the cosmos, as they do not even need ships to travel. They have learned to unlock the greatest of the mind’s potential. They link themselves with one another, empowering. Becoming a cosmic consciousness. Travelling through space-time. Entering the minds of others. They are the grand masters of the cosmos. There are other superpowers. But all are pretty much considered subordinates of the We Are order.
There are the Heavy Metal Children, all robotic though some do originate from organic life, and they are a massive military order. Their computing potential is over one hundred million times higher than the average unmodified living organism, (aside from the We Are order). They have access to most advance technology in all the cosmos, though are under close watch to the DreamPriests, who have seen past the “soulless metal façade” and saw no excuse for the complete deletion of the Pria Foruns Galaxy. All of the Heavy Metal order are in constant link to the Web that spans all. Capable of looking up all recorded information whenever wanted. They do not recognize the self. Or at least they do not acknowledge the do to outsiders. Most people understand that they have souls as much as anyone else does, and the joke is pointless.
There is the Interstellar Society Roque or I.S.R. This, while not a huge military force, is has the highest population a seemingly infinite times over. Spanning countless planets in countless galaxies. It hosts more races and diversity than any other organization. It follows the same basic principles as current world governments only on an intergalactic scale.
The Cosmos is vast……

The Philosophy
Ideology is something of the past.
In this world, immortality is free for everyone. There is no use for gods. Nobody thinks about the prospect of death because it has become an absurdity.
Without death, with no worry for the body, with infinite years before oneself, there is no longer the self. Only the cause of those one allies with. There is no love, as reproduction is pointless, and such instincts are usually cut away. Genders slowly have become nothing more than a decision, as anyone can become anything through proper procedure. Flesh and machinery meld and the there are no real personal aspirations. Except a few hidden unspoken secrets that may or may not be.
The entire civilization of all races is based off Honor. The more honorable a person is, and the more honor a person earns, the more opportunities opened to them, and the more cash they tend to earn. There are multiple different honor systems, based on who one allies themselves with. Most follow the basic rules. Though there are some, who forsake the idea of honor. Who think that the idea of honor is foolish. That morals don’t exist. These people usually steal, kill, blackmail, to get what they want. In turn are punished for their actions.
Though there are countless orders of Honor. Generally they follow the same plan.
1. Respect the enemy. But do not hesitate. 2. Respect your family. 3. Work hard for your earnings.
So on and so forth.
The races no longer believe in the prospect known as love. With immortality, with time passing by so fast. Love is a laughable idea. With complete understanding of the human mind and the biological workings, there is no reason that the satisfaction chemically given by companionship can’t be artificially given at all times. There is no reason to mate, as the population of the cosmos is high. Everyone now lives forever and so everyone already knows their great ancestors. If the continuation of the tree is desired or a union of families wanted, it is more likely to be a business proposition than something out of love.

The Equipment
Space Travel
There are three main types of space travel. One is your simple spacecraft. A craft powered by an energy source that blasts the vessel across the universe. These come in more varieties than one could possibly remember. All shapes, sizes, and purposes. Combat, transport, brothelships, whatever the mind could concoct. Some are powered by nuclear energies, others by elemental collision. Others are controlled by the Comatose. Failed dream priests who saw things that ruined their minds. Machines feed off the psychic brainwaves that power psychic starships.
Another form of space travel is the Chimera. These ships are bred using vast amounts of genetic modification to create living spaceships. They come in all shapes and sizes, though the most popular model is the dragon. They are quicker and more maneuverable than the other ships, and have their minds to guide them. Bred to survive star battle. To have the instincts to kill and dodge. A melding of metal and flesh, a Chimera is not only a highly admired vessel. But a friend as well. All it takes to keep them running is food. They naturally produce the other elements needed for their abilities. From lasers to light speed.
The last form is restricted to the DreamPriests who do not even require spaceships. They can open their minds and travel through spacetime with nothing other than their bodies. Rocketting across the cosmos at impossible speeds. By far the most impressive means of travel.
Weaponry
Weaponry is to vast to catalog. If you can dream it up. It probably exists. Though practicality does come into play. A mini-gun that shoots chainsaws might sound cool, but a fine tuned laser sniper could pick you off without a second thought.
Modification
The body can be modified in any way desirable. There are bionic modifications and cybernetic modifications. There are also modifications that blend the two. Anyone can look and do just about whatever they desire with enough money. Though real body modification does get expensive. And if that body so happens to get scrapped, you have to repurchase the modifications with the next body. Nevertheless almost every in the existence of the cosmos (except the masses of poor folk and tribal planets) have some sort of modification. Even if it just a simple health necessity, or legs that allow a man to leap four stories. Or clawed hands and tentacle feet. A man, or alien, or robot. Can become whatever it desires.
Immortality
The most popular immortality system is a simple one. There is a constant sync to the Yggdrasil network. Where in reality your mind is in two places at once. This process was originally a failure as they just copied and pasted. But in the end it was only a copy and clone rather than the true mind. Now with constant sync the mind is in two places, and when the body dies, the mind just moves over to the computer, then is implanted into a body. Therefore facilitating infinite life successfully. There is no blackness of death. Only the continuation of life.
Other stuff
Pretty much anything exists. You just have to find it.

The Quest
When one commits a crime. There are many different punishments. From sending out into space in a coffin sized box until their sentence is up. To executing them time and time again until finally disabling their immortality. Then there is the Hellsquad. In essence the Hellsquad is most elite zombies the universe has ever seen. The convict can make the choice to shorten their sentence by fighting in the hellsquad. A dream priest annihilates their minds connection with their body, creating the perfect soldiers, Then they give them weapons and send them out to do their bidding. Fight wars, assassinate enemies, work as bodyguards. They use implants to lock in the disconnection over great distances. If this is damaged in any way, then the convict is required to not leave a certain radius from where it was damaged or the implant will simply kill them, remove them from the Yggdrasil system, and end them forever.
Out of all the different sections of the Hellsquad, there is Hellsquad 69. This particular section of the Hellsquad is reserved for only the most hardcore of criminals. Mass murderers, mastermind thieves, and those who commit grand heresy. They are sent into the most violent and dangerous missions. With the hope that their bodies will be destroyed and sent out again. Everyone had learned to fear the approach of Hellsquad 69, big guns, and savage mad zombie forces.
Enter He Who Kindled The Flame. A Dreampriest, one of the oldest suddenly disappeared from existence one day. Some say he is a simple deserter. Others say he was killed. But whispered in the shadows it is said that he kindled the flame of enlightenment and simply removed himself beyond the cosmos and beyond the reaches of the other DreamPriests. Which, as fate would have it, is exactly what happened.
In his enlightenment. This being learned that the cold outlook that life had become was no true to the universe. That there needed to be love. There needed to be happiness. That there needed to be art. That everyone was so caught up on war, honor, and immortality, that all have forgotten the little things. The beauty of the universe. So the being decided to attempt to change the fate of the cosmos. He reached out to the Hellsquad itself. Awakening the minds of zombie soldiers from Hellsquad 69. Showing them a vision of his new lofty domain, and how love needed to be brought back to this world. This could only be achieved with chaos. Striking out the very foundations of civilization. The Dreampriest removed their implants, and gave their minds blocks from any dream priest intrusion. To send them on a mission to destroy the Yggdrasil System, bringing mortality back to the masses. For fear of death makes life beautiful. Then to destroy all they can, to bring forth a new world that understands that honor in war is not everything. That there is more to life. That there is love.
