UPDATE:
The apprehension of a wanted fugitive in the Alpha Quadrant left the planet of Ranik, a mining world for Hydrazine gas, heavily damaged when a terrorist crippled ore hauler crashed into the surface. Fuel prices are expected to rise.
Due to the chaos at the shipyards above Ranik, which resulted in heavy damage to a section of the shipyards, Rebel agents were able to infiltrate and steal several dozen ships, including several battlecruisers. An investigation is underway to determine of the events were linked.
A battle at an Imperial storage depot recently has revealed the presence of Corrupters, an insidious alien race that infests any life-form it comes into contact with. The depot was cleansed, and all military personnel are being warned to watch for more signs of these creatures.
Again, in a linked event involving a traitorous quartermaster, now arrested and awaiting execution, a Rebel agent was among those sent to the depot to clear it of the infestation, and received, like the rest of the team, weapons from Imperial stores. The Rebel agent proceeded to loot several hundred weapons and delivered them to Rebel forces fighting the Empire on Trasia, forcing a rerouting of additional troops to support the new fighting that has broken out there.

UPDATE:
The war on Trasia has reached dangerous levels. The Imperial Fleet is being rerouted to bombard the Rebels on planet to ashes.
In the Delta Quadrant, a minor breach in security at one of the labs there has left several dead. Terrorists are to blame for the incident, which involved the use of a virus as a weapon. Imperial Military and security on site are handling the problem. Reports of elite Flame Corps Captain Guy Montag going missing during the brief fighting are unsubstantiated rumors.
Meanwhile, reports of new worlds being discovered in a new sector called Lambda Quadrant has colonists rushing to find transport...and the military rushing to send recruiters....

The news of a breakthrough discovery in the field of cybernetics has much of the galaxy in an uproar. With the advent of safer technology, as well as no possible rejection, people can now upgrade themselves with the most advanced cybernetics available, if they have the cash, and the time to do an errand or two for the Lord Surgeon General first.
In other news, for valor above and beyond the call of duty, Captain Guy Montag has been recalled to the Capital Planet of Garanth to receive a special award, and the promotion to the rank of Brigadier General. Several high-ranking officials and other military personnel have been invited to the event, which will be in a private location.
The labs in Delta Quadrant have been shut down following the terrorist attacks, for maintenance and rebuilding, with all personnel on vacation until the facility is reopened.
