After a while of not playing, it's undeniable that people lose a lot from their game. I recently came back to SC2 from a break of a couple months, and I definitely noticed it. My APM was lower, my decisions were misguided, and it seemed like the metagame, even at my lowly platinum level, had evolved past my ability. Honestly, I had to lose around 7 games in a row in 1v1 before I started to really get back into trying to understand the higher levels of the game.
But alas, another level of SC evolution helped me out. As it happens, it's become pretty common for pro gamers to stream games on their own channels for the average players like us to watch from a first-person perspective. I'd always preferred macro zerg style, so I watched one of my favorite players over the course of a few games (IdrA, of course), and I learned so much it hurt my brain.
And after winning a few games in my long-time home, the Plat league, I have to say: Feels good, man.
Deescussion points: What has helped you evolve your game? Doesn't it freakin' suck when your play stagnates?? Have you watched any pro streams recently? Who best matches your style? Did you know there's a Twitter account that updates whenever a pro is streaming? Here's a link: http://twitter.com/#!/StreamSC2

What has helped you evolve your game? Day9 def, and just watching replays in general. Also, trying odd strategies in games, and then looking up if pros have tried something and actually refined that. (Minigun comes to mind, I had a hard time using a lot of gateway units, especially in pvp, but I learned about massing sentries, and never looked back =p) Doesn't it freakin' suck when your play stagnates?? When you only do the same thing every time I'm assuming? Yeah, then it gets boring. That's why I started playing random a while back, but then I started learning more toss strategies and feel better about it. I still need to learn how to fast expand as toss well.
Have you watched any pro streams recently? Who best matches your style? I watch destiny a lot. He has good music, hilarious bm, and is a really good player imo. I'm not sure about who matches my style, because I don't really watch too many toss players =/.
Did you know there's a Twitter account that updates whenever a pro is streaming? No idea, but I don't use twitter, so it doesn't really affect me anyways <_<

IdrA is a fantastic person to learn from. Nothing beats experience, particularly vs players that are better than you, for learning though.
