Appearance: Long black hair and emerald green eyes. She usually keeps her hair down. Her typical wardrobe consists of a long-sleeved black shirt with a white tie and black skinny jeans. When she wears a short sleeved shirt she bandages up her scar, so no one can see it. She's 5'9" and has a pale complexion.
Personality: She's terrified of being alone because she's afraid that her adoptive father will track her down and kill her like he tried to do on her 15th birthday. If she's alone for too long she'll break down and become an emotional wreck. She tries to be nice to everyone she meets and does anything in her power to protect the friends she makes. She's deathly afraid for people to see the scar on her arm, so she always wears a longsleeved shirt. And when she wears a shortsleeved shirt, she bandages her scar up so that no one can see it. She'll get sad if you ask her about the bandage, and she might tell you, but if she doesn't want to tell you about it and you pester her about it, she'll more than likely get angry.
Past: Ilyana was left on the porch of an orphanage in London, England as a newborn child. With her was a necklace and a note, declaring her birthdate, her name and instructions to never let the necklace leave her side. She lived in the orphanage until she was 14 when she was adopted by a less than ideal man. He was an alcoholic and he forced her to do his household chores because he was too busy drinking to care to do them. She was sickened by him, but did what he said because she was deathly afraid of him and he constantly threatened her. On her 15th birthday, she decided to try and defy him by not doing her daily chores simply because she believe she deserved some sort of break and after all, it was her birthday. Once he found out, he grabbed a kitchen knife and tried to stab her in a fit of rage. He stabbed her in the right arm and cut a deep wound from her shoulder to her elbow. She ran upstairs to her room to escape him and luckily, he did not chase her. She treated her wound as best as she could by wrapping it in her bedsheets, which she ripped into thick sections to wrap around her arm.
In the early morning hours of the next day, Ilyana took her necklace, the note that was left with her as an infant, and some spare clothes and left the house of her adoptive father. While in hiding her wound got deeply infected and healed weird, giving her an abnormally large scar. Luckily, she didn't get sick from the infection, but she deeply despises the scar that man gave her. She lived on the street for the next two and a half years, learning to survive on her own and also being scared that somehow her adoptive father would find her and finish the job he'd never finished on her 15th birthday. In her fear, she decided that leaving England would be her best chance at survival. She could leave and her adoptive father would never know where she had gone to. It was here that she changed her name from Victoria Kirkland to Ilyana Rochester. She snuck into the cargo hold of a ship, having no idea where the ship would take her. She just wanted to get away from England and from her adoptive father.
After the ship had set sail, she went up on deck and just marveled at the ocean which she'd never seen before. A man approached her and called her by her birthname. She tensed at first, thinking it was her adoptive father and he'd followed her on the ship to kill her. Upon turning around, she found not her previous guardian but a strange man, dressed in an older-fashion suit and an equally old fashioned hat that covered most of his head except his jet black hair stopped just before his shoulders. She said nothing to him, for fear of giving her true identity away. Instead she only listened to the strange message he had to give. He simply told her that this ship was bound for America and that she'd find a safe place on Long Island along with a surprise. Despite her conscience telling her not to listen to the strange man, she felt in her heart that it was the right thing to do. Plus she was curious about the surprise he'd mentioned. Once the ship landed in America, she located and stole a map to help her find her way to Long Island. She found CHB only a few days later.
