The marbled pup had been wandered away from his parents and siblings happily. He had been granted his first bit of freedom and was going to use it to his advantage. His paws squelched against the wet ground, sliding slightly, allowing his hind legs to collapse and his body to collide with the floor.
Snitch yelped, slamming both eyes shut to avoid being blinded with mud. He pulled himself up carefully, watching the wet ground with wide orbs. His pelt was now heavy with wet mud, and despite Snitchs efforts he couldn't seem to be rid of it.
He could hear the sound of running water and his ears swivelled in the direction of the noise. Padding cautiously to the source of the noise, he noticed it sounded more like splashing than the usually calm flow of water. A familiar scent crossed his nostrils and he began to worry.
A young voice cried out for help, and it was within a heart-wrenching moment that Snitch recognised it as his sisters! Speeding into the water, he saw her small body, thrashing to try and escape the river that was so quickly engulfing her.
Wading as quickly as he could, he brushed against her wet-furred body and bit onto the scruff of her neck, the piece of skin their mother used to pick them up by. Luckily, the piece of skin contains no nerves, so Snitch wouldn't have to be worried about hurting his sister. Though at the moment, he was terrified with the prospect of losing her to the river.
He dug his claws into the soft ground, and pulled as hard as he could, though with no success, the ground was simply too soft and broke away. His dual eyes glanced around quickly, looking for a solution, and he soon found himself clinging to a rock, pulling both him and his sister away from the current, were they could collapse on the bank.

Trotting along the edge of the river, Rand was quite happy on his own, examining the diffrent plants, noticing where a fieldmouse's tracks crossed those of a bird's... actually, the fieldmouse sounded quite tasty about now.
His oversized ears perked up suddenly. Spalshing, from upstream? Stepping with clumsy paws up onto the tree root and peering curiously up the river, his golden eyes blinked as he saw two soggy bundles thrashing in the river, making their way slowly but surely towards his side of the river. And surely he recognised that marbled fur?
Snitch, Kaya! He called anxiously, hopping off the root and scrabbling down towards the side of the bank, aiming for where the pair would wash up.

It was the cries from his siblings that finally roused the pup - who happened to be lying on his back drowsing against a tree. His large ears twitched and after sneezing he rolled onto his front and got to his paws, shaking the frost from his fur.
Brrrr it was cold!
It was then that he realised the voices had been real and not in his mind at all, and with a small yip he dashed across the snow, wondering what on earth had happened.
Raaand! He called, breath wreathing around her muzzle, Rand what's 'appened? He came skidding to a halt beside his white brother, snifflign tentatively, eyes scanning the river. It was then that he noticed Snitch and Kaya slowly being washed to the bank.
You two not allowed tah go swimmin'! He squeaked, mimicking his parents. Water dangerous! He padded a few steps forward ready to help them up if need be.
