Okay that's it I don't care if Pat Lee ever gets the Transformers titles again. I'm not supporting that slagging fragtard again. Look what he did to everyone who worked for him.

I absolutely agree! Not sure if stating such would leave me liable or anything, but how can someone declare a company bankrupt, leaving an entire workforce of struggling artistically talented employees out of pocket (and owing money!!), only to turn around and straight away set up a new company... if the Lees can afford to do this, then they can bloody well afford to pay for the work that they commissioned, whether or not it actually saw print! Ugh, this makes me FURIOUS!! Personally, I will be boycotting anything that Dream Engine Studios puts out, solely out of principal. This is just ethically corrupt to the nth degree...

I forsee Dream whatever will die as soon as it begins because publishers won't publish anything coming from someone so unreliable and plus the publicity the Lees are getting from angry consumers and artists will spread through the entire comic world to no end and thus they will be crushed like flies. Sad Pat can do an Optimus head in 3 mins *feels sorry for Optimus's head*

Hi DevilsLight, DevilsLight I forsee Dream whatever will die as soon as it begins because publishers won't publish anything coming from someone so unreliable and plus the publicity the Lees are getting from angry consumers and artists will spread through the entire comic world to no end and thus they will be crushed like flies. Sad Pat can do an Optimus head in 3 mins *feels sorry for Optimus's head* I wish that could be true, but that jerk Rob Liefield (former Image co-founder that went off on his own only to bankrupt his new company and do similar things Pat Lee is now doing to his artists) is still trouncing around the comic book industry AND publishing xp . I still don't think Liefeld EVER paid up the money he owed SEVERAL artists for their work for his defunct and now resurrected comic book company --;. I met one of those artists Liefield cheated at a comic book convention a few years back. Right now, his 4th or 5th reincarnation is listed in Previews and soliciting for orders. I suspect Liefeld got some money from Marvel from his recent illustration and writing work to set this company up, again. Sonia xp

As long as he doesn't break any laws he can't get stopped by the courts unless sued for it, and most artists can't afford the kind of lawyers he can. If a class-action suit were filed it might help, but it could go either way. Furthermore, with Dreamwave hiring artists from multiple countries, court action would be further complicated.

Hi DevilsLight,
I just found out yesterday from another comic book fan friend that it gets even WORSE than Liefeld apparently --;! What Pat Lee is doing (and what Liefeld did) is the NORM for a comic book company that goes bankrupt gonk ! All the artists that worked for that company are left in the LURCH of ANY moola they are owed by that company when it dissolves crying ! Like Adib said, unless the artists can hire lawyers to take Lee or Liefeld to court, if Lee or Liefeld were to say set up ANOTHER NEW company using the same characters they had from before (but NOT use the artwork drawn by their former employees under their old company), they're scott free to do so without EVER paying their former artists a penny for the work they did when the old company went under scream !
Supposedly, all the artists that worked on Chaos! Comics before the company went bankrupt were also never paid for their last work, while Chaos' founder, Brian Pulido went off to license his Chaos characters to Crossgen (also now bankrupt) and now Avatar Press. This is just so WRONG on so many levels!

Avatar Press? Wasn't that the outfit putting out the 'Cybertronian: The Unofficial Transformers Recognition Guide' series? Oh wait, no that was Atlantic Press, now that I think of it. What ever happened to this series? They made it right the way through the American G1 assortment, brought out a single edition detailing part of Beast Wars, and then seemingly vanished into obscurity. I was really enjoying this series. I bet Dreamwave had something to do with this apparent cancellation. Perhaps that now that particular chapter has been drawn to an end...? I can't believe that way that the comics industry is run these days. And the-powers-that-be wonder why interest is dwindling... stressed

Well I think all the artists from Dreamwave are banning together to hire one sole lawyer to battle for all of them and get a lump sum to distribute after, but I'm not sure, it's only rumored.
