Skills: He is able to merge with other metal objects, making them become a part of his body. For example, merging with a drill allows him to have an actual working drill which he can use. The methods vary, depending on what he is merging with. Can be as simple as grabbing it, or having to actually be in a specific area.
He can also merge with other computers, including other robotic beings and even entire ships. Considered a sort of 'combining' by most who have seen it, but it has its limitations. He must have access to combine from the mainframe, in order to sync with it and know its software for the time it is combined. Once unsynced and apart from what he merged with, he doesn't retain any of the previous software. Without proper access, he'll only have access to the hardware and only render the thing he is merging with useless. For example: he can force a merge with a computerized cannon and have the cannon and such as his body, but that is all. Without the permission, he can't sync and obtain the proper software to even fire the cannon.
Abilities: Thanks to added-on software by Rebels, he knows housekeeping, maintenance, and first-aid. This had made him a great help since it was difficult for just Crim and Nitemare to try and keep up with the ship with just the two of them.
Where as Nitemare seems more threatening, people find A.P.U.B. to be more peaceful. He is usually wearing an apron when cleaning, a safety helmet when doing maintenance work, or a nurse's hat when performing first-aid. His default voice is squeaky and high pitched, making him sound like a child, despite his height (think of the voice of the turrents from Portal). However, the voices are subject to change as Nitemare was told of voice commands to change the voice. She tends to keep the default, but she still finds joy in the various accents and pitches.

Weapons: Since Crim isn't big on A.P.U.B. fighting in the first place, he doesn't have weapons unless merged with something that has weapons of some sort. Ex: If he merges and syncs with a ship armed with a Gauss cannon, guess who just got a deadly toy. But even then, A.P.U.B. will try to avoid as much confrontation as possible unless it is to protect Crim and/or Nitemair.
Armor: Although not certain, Empire analysists have found large amounts of Thurium in his armor. It explained how he was still able to function, even after being buried in the hellish mines for all those years. But due to there being pre-existing armor, there are now impurities, which makes his durability slightly less than that of power armor.
Other items: Aside from the mentioned apron, safety hat, and nurse hat; he doesn't carry much else since he merges with it all.
Always merged to him is tools to help him perform day-to-day tasks: a communicator, first-aid kit, an entire tool chest, small cleaning appliances, a laser buzz saw Crim wanted tested, and a defibrillator.
+||+---------------------------Background-----------------------------------+||+
A.P.U.B. stands for All Purpose Utility Bot, but is not his original name. Originally known as Merger, he was among a line of robots designed to merge with other objects. Intended to surpass the need of data disks and proper hardware, it looked promising; that vision fell short due to the designer's lack of knowing how computerized mainframes worked. Thus, the model was discontinued, and the existing ones were shoot off into space. There was only one line of these robots.
Rather than meet his demise at the hand of a black hole of some sort, it lodged itself in a ship and tried to merge with it. The mainframe wouldn't allow access, and the ship was pulled down to Vorg from gravity. Although rough, it landed, only to cause the ground beneath it to collapse. Turns out, it landed in a hallow spot of ground. Away from the ship, Merger found himself stuck in the ground. Alone. He entered a power saver mode immediately. During that time, her merged with the Thurium ore around him before powering down.
Several decades later, a cave in occurred. Several people died, but the rescue team discovered Merger. After examination and providing him with power, they immediately put him to work as maintenance, corpse removal, and driller. As such, he obtained the name A.P.U.B.
One day, a ship landed on Vorg. On board was a gentleman of sorts with no eyes, and a girl who walked around blindfolded. Crim and Nitemair. When they stepped off, they immediately started talking to a guard. At the same time, some of the forced workers tampered with A.P.U.B.'s systems by giving him a massive electric shock. He started going haywire and acted violent as his systems tried to use up this extra power. None of the guard's weapons were working, and everyone was in a panic, except for the gentleman who was still trying to talk to the guard. As if oblivious to the situation, Crim said to the guard, 'Hey, listen. My lasers have the power of an unstoppable force. You're target would have to be an immovable object to withstand its impact.' All of a sudden, it stopped its rampage as it thought about what Crim had just said. Falling victim to the paradox, he shut down just as he was reaching unsafe temperatures. Ready for the scrap heap, Crim ended up buying A.P.U.B. from them dirt cheap.
They decided to have some of Nitemair's Rebel friends looks at since, since neither one of them knew how robots worked. Another deal was made: they would modify this robot to handle several of tasks and basically be a sort of 'helper,' if they allowed the Rebels to go about in his data banks and pull up whatever they wanted. Agreeing, the Rebels got their data, and Zap-O'-Matic got their robot good as new. As an added bonus, A.P.U.B. got security software (something this model of robot lacked due to budget cuts) and Nitemair was given voice commands that would alter his voice.
He is always busy. If there is no maintenance to be done, he is cleaning. If not that, then he is assisting Crim in some way. If not, then some how entertaining Nitemair. If not, then he is merged with the ship and takes care of almost all the flying. When he has time for himself, he doesn't know what to do and just stands connected to a power source, ready to be given an order. He also sometimes acts as bodyguard for the rare events Nitemair is not around. He has a higher customer friendly rating than Nitemair, since people seem less threatened by a high-pitch robot than a blindfolded teenager with a gatling gun. Of course, Nitemair doesn't mind since she'll sometimes change the voice and laugh as he speaks in a British accent or like a cowboy to customers.
