How to Play::
First create a character using the Create A Character Guide. Once that is complete, begin reading the brief oral history and looking through the Town of New Jericho and The Town of Jericho Outskirts forums. Once your character profile has been approved you may begin posting.
1. Posting. Every post must have the following format:
Character Name:
Rank: (see ranks system)
Squad: other squad members and their rank
Active Mission: (Put “N/A” next to this if you aren’t in the middle of one.)
Link to your profile topic (this is so people can check on details such as currently equipped weapons or inventory so they can post without making errors such as saying you have a revolver when you have a repeater pistol.)
The Actual Post
OOC (keep this to 5 sentences MAX, use a smaller font, and put in parentheses)
2. Traveling: This guild is divided into areas. You simply post in the topic under the subforum you are currently in. For example to meet Thanatos in the bar go to New Jericho then post under the topic entitled Al’s Hotel. If you are in the middle of an action you must complete it or post in detail you are leaving the area. You can just jump all around the world magically.
3. Missions: Occasionally missions will become available on boards or from NPCs. Mission rewards include gold and xp. They may also include store discounts or free items and gear. Upon completing a mission you are expected to update the XP, gold, and your inventory to your character profile topic. Missions will include details, a difficulty rank. This will be A-E and S. S is the hardest, C is Average and E is easy. So you are expected to act accordingly. For example:
S rank: Go to the outskirts and kill the legendary marksman Michael Smith. You should be shot up broken and bloody returning from this and in need of medical treatment
C rank: Go to the outskirts and kill 4 D rank bandits and their B rank group leader. You sneak around use tactics; maybe get hit once in the shoulder.
E rank: Go to the outskirts and kill 4 E rank bandits. You run in guns a blazing and cut, shoot and maim everything with relative ease.
Every time a new mission is available an announcement will be made in the Town Bounty Board Topic. Some missions will be handed out to people others will be first come first serve. They will all have requirements and you need to meet them in order to accept the mission.
4. Gold: It’s used to buy stuff! It can be used to purchase weapons, body enhancements, ect. You have a set amount. You earn it from completing missions. It is not an actually gold coin or paper ect. It is more a form of credit acceptable at the town bank. The bankers keep track of your account and to withdraw items you must enter your pin number. (no I am not handing out pins it’s simply done automatically.) To make a purchase in any of the shops simply post showing your current gold- the cost of an item = total gold remaining. If you buy multiple items at once then do it in this format
Current gold: 100000
-5000 for a crappy gun
-4500 for a crappy gun
-2300 for a crappy gun
Total remaining gold: 88200
You are expected to update you profile with your total gold after every purchase
5. Inventory space and equipping items: You can have one primary weapon: a rocket launcher, assault rifle, sub machine gun, hybrid weapon, shotgun, or a sniper rifle. One Secondary: Pistols. One Melee weapon. 3 grenades of assorted kinds (3 TOTAL not 3 of each) And 3 spare mags for each gun or enough rockets for one full reload of a rocket launcher. This is the absolute most you can carry at once. Anything you purchase or is given to you will automatically go to your bank’s inventory space. Certain items you can buy at the town market will increase your carrying capacity. If you find a weapon you like better than the one you are carrying you can toss yours and take the one you found. If your XP is to low to use it you can still pick it up you just can’t equip it. Instead it stays in your inventory. Once again you are expected to update your character profile with this info every time it changes. To make it clear Melee take up the space of a primary and vice versa grenades take up the place of melee and vice versa. So you can fill up your secondary slot with grenades or your grenade slot with another pistol. This is to allow people to mix up their inventory and allow more options and keep the sandbox element of this game.
6. Possibilities are unlimited. Being that this is a sandbox game some things not mentioned in the how to play manual are allowed. If you want to try something pm me or a vc with you idea. If it is responsible we’ll allow and add it to this guide/rules. Just talk to one of us before you just do it.
7. Transports- you can own one at a time. They vary but a divided into two basic groups. Cyber-horse and Vehicular. You can have only one transport at a time. When in town you can either park your transport outside any building but it is recommended leaving it at the stable/garage while sleeping to prevent theft or destruction from wandering bandits at night.
8. XP- This determines your currently level of experience. The higher it is the more advanced tech you will have access to. See Rank System for perks.

10. Human Enhancement Implants: These surgically implanted devices will greatly change how you act in combat. Use them appropriately. They give you advantages in combat but that doesn’t mean a shotgun blast to the face won’t send your character to the morgue. There is a cool down time for these mods. You can get one implant per week (real time) max. This is due to the blood loss during the surgery. It takes a while to get back to full health and ready to be cut open again.
11. Forming Squads. To form a squad; simply get together with other players and update your player profile accordingly. The player with the highest rank is the commanding officer. If you are tied for rank the player with the highest xp is the CO. If you are tied for xp you can choose. If you can’t decide then don’t form a squad. Yes before you ask an entire squad can go rogue and desert on Thanatos’. He will still come after you or send another squad after you.
12. Engaging NPCs outside of missions – to keep RPCs from unrealistically and unfairly xp/item/gold farming hostile NPCs there will be a set number of Hostile NPCs a RPC can engage daily (IN REAL TIME). This currently limited to 1 combat a day (1 to 6 enemies) outside of story missions. Currently Hostile NPCs types are listed in the areas with the maps posted as long with the weapons, ranks, and rewards they give. Certain enemies appear in certain areas and are restricted to the ones they are listed as occupying. Do not confuse them.
