((Log of an AIM RP between my Zulian and [+Katch+]'s Naraku!))

Hungry, Zulian prowled through the forest. It was in the dead of night and bright moonlight filtered in past the boughs of the pine trees that surrounded him. The night was alive with the sounds of insects and small animals but they went silent as he passed, as if they could sense his hunger. Zulian snapped at a moth as it fluttered by but his teeth caught nothing but air.

He was starting to get aggravated. Normally by now he'd at least have found a possum or a rabbit. He hoped for a deer but all their trails were cold. All he knew was that he needed to find something fast before his mood got any worse. Then he wouldn't be able to be satisfied by anything but soquili meat, and that was hard to come by sometimes even for him.

Naraku had only been in this land for a short period of time, but already he was enjoying himself immensely. Even on a warm summer night here, he could wear his pelt comfortably and roam for food without being molested by other predaors. He sneered, his long hair trailing about behind him making a soft whisper in the grass as he searched the night, his white pupils reflecting the moon. Naraku however disliked the exercise of running and savagely mauling his dinner, there was sport in outwitting dumb creatures on occasion, but not too much. He had another weapon entirely to deal with things like this. He strode confidently through a clearing in the trees, the foliage around his hooves withering under the effects of the poison he applied to his hooves. He would simply poison something and then eat it, having gained an immunity to all of his vile concoctions at a young age, Naraku was able to enjoy easy kills. He had outsmarted nature in simple things. His whiplike tail and his sharp toothed grin were the only indicators that he was any part kalona, in fact he was half, but while others would curse their genetics, he welcomed the invisibility it gave him, because only the wise would catch on before it was too late...He swept through the grass, a smirk on his face, chuckling darkly into the night air " ku ku ku..."

Zulian bounded after a squirrel but was rewarded with a mouthful of fur. He spat it out with a fierce hiss and a growl. "I'll get you and eat all your bones until you're gone!" he snapped. His manner of speaking was always a little rambling and strange and tonight was no different. The squirrel unsurprisingly didn't answer back but Zulian kept pacing around the base of the tree growling. He was partially tempted to transform into his tiger form and climb the tree, even though he was less agile when climbing than other smaller skinwalkers were.

He was saved by the decision of whether or not to pursue the squirrel by the sound of hooves. His ears instantly turned to catch the noise and the rest of him followed. "I think I'll eat you if I see you so you had better stay hidden!" he growled into the dark forest.

Naraku stopped walking and narrowed his eyes to bloody slits, his ears perked forward. Someone or something was doing a lot of running around and...growling. He raised an eyebrow, while he wasn't one to go looking for trouble, aggression meant it was off it's game, frusterated, and therefore suceptable to weakness. He grined sharply, and weakness was what he worked with best. He slunk towards the sound, the only sounds he made were the soft crunching of foliage underhoof and the whisper of the ends of his hair dragging over the ground. To an astute night traveler, one with a good nose that is, he would have been very obvious within a certain amount of space, if he stayed in one place for long enough the smell of the poisonous miasma that always settled around his hooves would start spreading. Often it was that he would wake up from a nap under a tree to find a ring of dead birds on the ground around him, breakfast he called it. It was very possible that if this "Nighttime guest" was a predator of some kind, he would be able to hear him AND smell him...but no matter, Naraku was not in the least bit cowed by some of the more vicious breeds in these lands. He appeared out of the shadow of the trees, his baboon pelt shining white in the moonlight. " Hidden hmmmm~" he murmured, as he caught the tail end of Zulians grouchy threat. He peered through the night, looking for this Soquili, his tail curling lanquidily behind him.

The sound of the other soquili's voice sent Zulian's fur on end with aggression. The other soquili didn't sound very frightened and that aggravated him most of all. Only idiots weren't frightened of skinwalkers, especially of him. He had taught many idiots their error in the past and it sounded like he had another one to work with. "You. I warned you and you didn't pay attention so I will-"

He stalked forward, head hanging low and eyes glowing. That was when he spotted the other. He stopped when he did and peered intently. He could see black hair and white fur. There was some odd smell in the air, something unfamiliar to him but threatening. He stared at the pelt. The only other soquili he had ever seen wearing a pelt were other skinwalkers like him, but this soquili's pelt seemed rather small. "What... what are you?" he growled at the stranger.

He raised his eyebrows under his bangs as a rather large armored catwalker stalked out of the shadows, obviously preparing to pulverize him for not being afraid, or whatever reasoning it was that skinwalkers used as logic... He smirked smugly as the skinwalker stopped, getting a good look at him for the first time. Of course Naraku knew that upon first glance, folks were wary of his pelt, however he didn't wear it as skinwalkers did, oh he could put it on if he so wished and blend in with the bet of them, but he had none of the pigheadded agression that was attributed to that cursed kind. To some it would be easy to tell the difference, but that said nothing for dimwits... He flicked his tail behind him and poke, his long mane curling about in an almost non existant wind, looking very much as if it were alive, a simple trick of the moonlight, but occasionally unsettling to others. " I am a lot of things" he purred, his voice deep and as poisonous as the rest of him " i am a baboon, a demon, a spider and on occasion a prince" he chuckled darkly " i am whatever i want to be...what are y-o-u?" he asked, though he knew full well WHAT he was, he really wanted to know deeper things, but simple questions for simple minds~

Baboon, demon, spider, and a prince? Zulian wasn't exactly sure what a baboon even was. He had a vague memory of it being some sort of monkey but that was the extent of it. He didn't say that he was a skinwalker but the word "demon" implied that he was. Other soquili often called them demons. he didn't really understand the rest of it, though. He was a skinwalker prince? That was ridiculous. Zulian had only ever served his human master and wasn't going to bow his head to any skinwalker prince.

"I'm Zulian," he growled. "Not a prince, but I could still tear you up if you try to make me treat you like one. I don't care about princes. You don't even have a crown." He added that last part scornfully. What he did know about princes and royalty was that they were supposed to wear crowns.

Naraku fought the urge to laugh, this skinwalker was quite dense indeed. "Zulian hmm? interesting name, well it is obvious to me you are a skinwalker, a big cat to be specific~" he opened his eyes a little more, the moonlight dancing in his blood red eyes. "My name is Naraku, and I am not really a prince, but i can make myself one at any time~" he chuckled darkly " i do not give orders, and i certainly have no intention of doing so , especially if it gets me "torn up" as you say." He smiled " Ah yes, my crown~ i find such things tacky when i travel. The key to my royalty is something you cant see, it is intangible and deadly, and it has been responsible for much change in...heiarchy." He amused himself with thoughts of how many times he had used his poisons to climb up in the world. " Ahh but now i believe i'm simply a demon, i left my princely manners and furs at the castle~ and am out hunting for my supper" he shook his head, his long hair rippling " isn't that what you were doing...hmmm Zulian?"

Zulian stared from his hair back to his face and back again. He didn't like the stallion's hair. It moved the ways that shadow moved. Everything about the stallion aggravated and confused him. He couldn't tell if he was another skinwalker or not, he talked too much, he smelled strange, and then there was the hair. He considered simply attacking the stranger. He would learn his secrets soon enough if he did. Fighting was the best way to get to know someone.

"Maybe you're my supper," he retorted. "Maybe I'll just chew through your neck and then eat the rest of you. You look like you'd be good to eat." His bold words were underscored by dubiousness. He didn't actually know if the stallion would be good to eat. He didn't really smell very appetizing.

Naraku smirked wickedly " i wouldn't recommend that Zulian" He moved a few feet, ambling through the grasses, which were long on the outskirts of the trees " i'm sure you can smell it already, being a skinwalker you should have a good sense of smell, but just to be quite plain~" He locked eyes with the skinwalker " i'm poisonous to my very core, if you so much as lick me you will fall ill and possibly die, that's not to say what would happen if you attempted a bite...are you understanding this?" His mane rolled behind him as he walked, the grasses near his hooves shriveling and dying in his wake. " Of course i have other methods of dealing with...brutes" he said pointedly " but i much prefer being mostly civil, especially when both of us are hungry...but if you are quite sure you want to eat me, only one of us will leave this clearing alive." He drolled the whole sentence, his voice deep but now with a defined edge to it. " And i was so hoping i could find a like...mind" He did his best not to scoff at the idea. He was very skilled in the art of poison, and the pelt o his back was more than just show, it was full of small hidden pockets, in which he had stored fragile vials of several different particularly vicious poisons, some were even acidic in nature and would take the pelt right off anyone who was unlucky enough to face him. He was not worried about Zulian. In his years, one thing had always been certain to Naraku. No matter when it happened, eventually the brains always prevailed over the brawn.
