The Phantom stood in his woods, watching a beautiful white unicorn mare drink from the river nearby. His eyes sparkled as he thought of the little filly that had gotten lost. Oh how she had changed from that small, innocent little filly who liked to sing. Of course her disgusting love for a human had always confused him he did like to watch her from afar when she came by his forest. He took a few steps out of the forest and spoke softly but the wind carried his voice "Hello again" he said with a smile on his face.He stepped out into the sunlight and blinked a few times. The mask on the right side of his face shone and glistened in the sunlight. "It has been a long time" he said again his voice carrying on the wind.

Nicona lifted her head, her crystal horn catching the sunlight and making little prism sparkles splash on her nose and her neck as she turned her head to the Phantom. "Mister Phantom, hello" she said with a smile "yes it has been a while, how are you?" she asked again then looked down "I found a patch of sweet clover, want to join me?"

The Phantom nodded and smiled "I would love to join you. I am fine. How have you been?" he asked his voice much kinder than usual. "How is your....mother" he asked, he hid his disgust for the two legged species. "You grew a horn! It makes you even more beautiful than you were, though I didn't think it possible" he said watching the sun prism through it. He studied her figure more closely now that he was standing beside her.

"She is doing fine, however she is a little off... with all this warm weather, she still insists to wear long sleeves, and she won't bath with us anymore, and avoids others like her as much as possible. She hasn't even gone back down to the low lands to find others either." Nicona said, rather worried about her mother, she then stopped at his compliment at her horn and smiled. "surprised everyone when I grew it. They all thought I was just going to be a simple pony, fooled them didn't I?" she giggled, sounding just as she did when she was a foal. She then took a mouthful of clover, with some flowers still attached and munched on them a little quickly however a stray blossom still lingering at the side of his mouth.

"I am sorry to hear that. I hope she recovers. You certainly fooled me!" he said and smiled at the flower that hung from the side of her mouth. He leaned in, his mouth just inches away from hers. He let her eyes lock with hers before he brushed the flower away "You certainly are beautiful" he said be for going back to grazing. He was sorry that this mare was pained about a two legger and hoped for Nicona's sake that her mother would get better. "What have you been doing wity yourself?" he asked casually.

"Mostly singing, wandering around, taking care of Big Brother and Elder Sister, making new friends, Big Brother said he'd find me a new pet on one of his trips into the forest later on this season. It would be nice, because it gets really lonely, because my friends all have their own lives, and so does my family, a pet would always be there for me." She smiled and grazed some more. "And thank you, Mister Phantom, what about yourself?"

The Phantom smiled and moved closer to the mare. "I'm sorry you have been lonely. I have just been doing what I always do. Keep my senses sharp and patrol my forest" his voice was kind and caring. His bright blues looked up at her and seemed to sparkle. Beneath the mask there was a twinge of a smile which spread across the rest of his face. He was not used to being so close to a mare that wasn't either trapped in his little game, or was running for her life. It was a new sensation, just talking.

"That must be very lonely within itself," Nicona said smiling at him she then tilted her head, he seemed very different from the last time she remembered him. He seemed more at ease than he had been before. She hesitated, remembering how he kept his distance from her, but he did move closer to her, so she followed suit, just touching his hind with her own.

The Phantom smiled again and went back to grazing. "I usually prefer my own company anyways" he said "So it doesn't bother me too much. Every once in a while someone will wander into my forest and I...have a nice little surprise" he smiled or THEY have a nice little surprise he thought to himself which caused a chuckle. He did not know what to say, he felt a rush of excitement as her rump touched his. He looked over and brushed her neck with his face before going back to grazing. He had never been at a loss for words!

"Surprises are always nice." Nicona mused, blushing softly at the brush against her neck, though she wasn't entirely sure if it was his way of politely pushing her away, or something else. She wasn't sure with him, but was glad of his company, she continued grazing before her ears perked up as she heard the distant rumble of thunder. "Oh, so it may storm after all" she sighed looking out at the horrizon.

The Phantom looked up, obviously a little worried. "If you would like to get away from the rain I have a place that we can...hide away" he said with a slight smile. The thought of being within close quarters with her made his heart sing. He hummed as he turned around and motioned with his head for her to follow. "Into the forest we go, into the deep dark caverns" his voice was filled with darkness. He smiled and let his eyes meet hers.

Nicona bit her lower lip, "Big Brother and Elder sister would want me to return back home if the storm was coming..." she admitted, but she smiled "But if it isn't too far away, alright, just till the storm ends." she said following him. She then giggled "Always shrouded in mystery, aren't you, Mr. Phantom " she said following her friend into the woods.

The Phantom nodded "It isn't too far away my beautiful one, and don't call me Mister. Phantom is alright" he smiled at her comment about his being mysterious "I try my best" he said with a wink. They walked for a short while, the thunder gathering on them before they found the cave. The Phantom walked in and smiled. He wanted to be forward with her, he found her attractive and wanted to breed. However he knew this mare to be shy and decided to dance around the subject. "I love this time of year, all the romance" he said his eyes keeping hers entangled in his. He walked backwards, leading her deeper into the cave.

Nicona looked around at the mouth of the cave, the sight of it look like the menecing maws of a hungry beast waiting for her to walk in and devour her. And the lightening wasn't helping either. She swallowed nervously, as she made her way into the cave, then looked at the stallion with curiosity. "Romance?" she asked tilting her head she opened her mouth to ask more, but a sudden crash of thunder made her jump and she found herself pressed against the stallion, her pale frame trembling with fright of the storm.

The Phantom smiled and looked into the mare's eyes. His gaze dug deep into her soul. "I will protect you" he said with a smile. He moved closer to her and smiled, his neck wrapping around hers pulling her closer. "You have nothing to be afraid of" he said his voice filling the cave. He took in her scent and his body shook. Desire spread through his body and excitement sprang up in his soul.
