This is the homeworld of humanity. Except for closely guarded military and government records, all routes to this planet remain a mystery. It lies some thousand light years from the Riiamar Galaxy, in the Milky Way galaxy. Due to overpopulation, it has been abandoned for almost a thousand years, with those that didn't leave with the colony ships dying from war, famine, and disease.
Those that try for this planet usually don't survive the trip, but those that say they have tell of a planet with technology more advanced then the Empire's, just waiting to be found.
Formerly temperate and habitable, this planet is now mostly desert, with few temperate, forested zones left, the oceans have long since dried up and gone, while other areas of the planet are rife with quakes, volcanic activity, and acid rain.
What isn't known yet, is that after the Imperial Government left Earth, it rebuilt and came back stronger then ever. It has expanded its borders to include all of the original solar system claimed by humanity, and has advanced its technology so far beyond any other sect of humanity that those who breach its borders have never returned. Earth is controlled by The Unity, a world-wide, dictatorial government that despises anything less then 100 percent pure humanity, with goals to wipe out any enhanced or cybernetics enhanced human, as well as all alien life it encounters.
While expanding its borders, The Unity discovered a massive cache of advanced alien technology in the core of several worlds, mainly Neptune and Venus. This technology has provided a massive leap forward for humanity, but has also given them the power to destroy practically any foe they meet as well, making the Terran Defense Fleet one of, if not the most deadly military forces ever created.
