It looks like a human is controlling the body.
To make it more animalesque, try looking at the neck and shoulders- humans have very thin, weak, and exposed necks, thickening it up, even with fur, and holding the head more forward will give the furry a more instictively-animal feel.
also, don't think of ears as tear-shapes. Think of them as curled triangles.
Cut a paper into a wide-bottomed triangle and then curl one side- don't fold! think that sort of shape. The whole bottom side of the triangle is connected to the rest of the head.
yours looks detached- i'd suggest taking out the line between the ear base and the head, like so-
