Sorry if I am barking up the wrong tree here.
I'm looking for a well written supernatural, occult kind of book. I am not looking for anything in that ******** teen demographic, I really do not like those kinds of books. I'm looking for something dark, maybe with political intrigue, or religion. Something with with very complex characters, and politics. I like history, especially alternate history. Suspense and mystery should be a heavy factor, it could even be a detective type of deal. I love super natural stuff, but I can't stand customary fantastical creatures, ******** dragons and elves!
I'm more into realistic fiction with the supernatural being occult practice, or interesting mythology. Maybe something with spirits, or demons, or even Lovecraft styled creatures. Kind of iffy with Lovecraft stuff though.
The closest thing to what I'm looking for would be like Les Chevalier D'eon, it's an anime series, I highly recommend it.

Fiction too, I don't need actual occult literature, guess it would be interesting though.

Demons by John Shirley is good. If you get it make sure it has the sequel, Undercurrent, included.
