xxxxxxxxxxWelcome to the Junglexxxxxxxxxx
What has you running now? Or have you forgotten how to, forced into a monotonous march to nowhere so long you know nothing else? Perhaps you’ve left nothing but heartbreak in your wake – or are you trying to find an escape from it? The outside world is a cruel thing at times, no doubt. Diverse as it is, there isn’t always a place for everyone: and sadly, you’re part of that “everyone” stuck on the edges.
Or . . . maybe it’s too boring for you, in actuality. Maybe you think you’ve seen it all and that it’s not enough. Mountains, rivers, the beach, the forest, the flatlands, and the human camps that dot the in-between . . . Nothing new that touches the eye until the brightness of it gets you.
How odd. You’ve walked into what appears to be a forest, and yet not a forest. The colors are already aesthetically pleasing somehow, even though it doesn’t seem too different from any other place. But the scents! The sweetness, the spiciness, the mintiness – and others you couldn’t quite classify.
There's a certain flower that catches your eye on the fringe of this ring of sunlight, and it seems to twitch despite there being no wind. Curious, you approach, nostrils flared to take in the honey-sweet scent that seems to draw you in. It's beautiful, large, and in full bloom, and within its mouth you can see the glistening golden goodness. Slowly you begin to dip your head in . . .
Or, at least until someone roughly pushes you away. Surprised and growling with annoyance (you found the honey first!), you turn to find a large green and black-striped femme glaring down upon you.
"Idiot," she says between bared teeth. "Be thankful I arrived; that one can poison you in seconds. And that's the least of your problems here."
