Before we begin, I'd like to address some Questing FAQ's...

What is a quest?
Most simply, a quest is when you save up gold to buy an item(s) you really want. You do not buy anything else when you are "questing" for this item. These items are normally very expensive, or if not people tend to quest for multiple items. This means you want several things, a wishlist if you prefer, and keep track of them in the marketplace.

What is a quest thread?
A quest thread is a forum where you keep track of your progress on questing certain items. You also list the kind donators. You should "bump" this thread often to keep it at the top of the list, which makes it more likely to be seen. Charitys will often ask for a certain number of pages in a quest thread (ex. 6) so they see your dedication to the quest.

Where do I post my quest thread?
Go to Forums > Exchange > Charity/Quests. A lot of users post their quest threads in the Chatterbox forum, but this forum is the dedicated one.

What do I put in it?
Most people post an introduction, the amount of gold they have, and the amount of gold they need, and a list of donators. These are just the basic things. One thing to keep in mind is that a well thought out thread will attract more donators than one that was thrown together in just a few minutes.

What are some things I should avoid?
Don't type things like "Donate or I'll hunt you down!" Threatening the donators will make them scared to communicate with you.
Don't post your thread in the wrong forum. This will increase the likeliness of someone ignoring it, thinking you don't know what you are doing.
Don't beg. Questing is not begging. There is a big difference between the two. You look more civilized if you ask nicely than get down on your knees and plea.
Don't forget that the item you are questing is just a bunch of pixels. It might not really be worth it!

How do I apply to charities?
Charities on Gaia are a lot like charities in the real world. New users and questors can apply to them, but some are specifically for one or the other. To apply for a charity, go to a charity you find on The Charity Forum Page. I advise that you do not go to one that begs you to donate. Does the owner seem polite? Are they literate? Then that is a good bet. Most charities have a form for you to fill out. To fill it out to the best of your abilities, read the main post and any rules the owner has listed. Be sure to abide by those rules thoroughly to avoid being banned from the charity.

Dream avatars are avatars that wear all of the items you want or the items you are questing. You can easily create one HERE.

What is a questbar?
A questbar shows your progress on the amount of gold you need to purchase an item in the marketplace. You can create your own HERE.
