as a protoss, i can counter alot of terran builds, but when ever i try to reverse engineer them i suck at it. I'm just terrible at terran crying , i've never been able to find a good or comfortable build for them.

I kind of like to hear things like this. Not to be offensive, but because it reinforces my theory that different races often tend to just suit people's styles and/or personalities better than others. Sure, with intense practice you can get good with any or all of them, but a person's race and play style often says a lot about a person's character.

Any thoughts about which personalities play which race?

Personally, I think looking at race alone is oversimplifying it, since there are only three. However, there are multiple styles of each race as well. For example, Slush and Idra are both Zerg, but they have totally different styles. Idra tends to put all his focus on macro and economy, setting himself up for a better position in a long game. Slush likes to play aggressively and keep direct military pressure.

But different races tend to do things similarly with others of their race too. Zerg has a more mobile army, so you're likely to see them baiting someone onto the creep to get an easy surround. Protoss has tough units and can warp them in anywhere in a power field, so they can keep their army just outside the enemy base or in the center of the map and reinforce easily. And Terran has great adaptability, and can do things like swapping add-ons for a totally different army comp.

It's not an all-encompassing psychic technique or anything, but when I play against my real life friends I can generally make some uncanny correlations between how they play and how they approach real life situations.

So professor what's my character like!

I haven't played against you in forever. We'll have to rectify that!

Hm, what do you think a mass gateway build tells about me? =p I don't like using robo or stargate, and like to sit in my gateway with archons and the templars with gateway units =p. You can see it mostly in the second game vs tangerpaint on fidds youtube. I really enjoy that build.
