Ziz:: Leonard Ziz, the demonic prince sat quietly, sipping some kind of concoction in the back of a dimmly lit room waiting. His devil tail swished as he waited...waiting for something.
Jack:: The deepest recesses of the cave were just begging to be uncovered. Jack thought so, at least, and figured it may have something that could provide him answers. Each inch of exposed wall and earth seemed to scream at him, to tell him to go further. It wasn’t very far until he did reach something, or, rather, someone. It was too dark to tell, especially with his goggles on, but he felt it – something strange, something powerful.
Ziz:: His ears flicked, could this be the sound of treading upon his cave, upon his home? The demon licked his lips in anticipation for things to come as his tail swiped the ground sending off a cup in the guest’s direction. “Well, Well you did find your way here.” The lights brightened; well enough to get a good look around. The cave expanded its narrow walls to a much more polished and sophisticated room of sorts, marble and Gold detailing, a large table in the middle of the, and many more doors. Ziz sat at the end of the table, smiling, hair covering his face for the most part. “Name?” He called out, his voice was back up by an eerie echo.
Jack:: The young soul pulled his goggles up at the greeting, not moving much at all, besides flicking his eyes about. The scenery was as unfamiliar to him as his memory, unable to take in any of it. Jack felt himself beating inside, anxiously waiting for the unexpected to happen as he always knew it. His crimson eyes peeked out under his dirty white locks, daring a glance upon being asked of his name. The voice belonging to this demon seemed to catch him off his guard a little, as well as the very appearance of the voice's owner, but he remained firmly positioned. “Jack.”
Ziz:: The princes expression changed, his smile gone, wondering why “Jack” was still here not even budging at the sight of a demon. With a light thump Ziz was now on the table bounding towards his quest. His tail pointing downwards scratched the surface of the table to show his discontent. He made his way to the complete other side of the table, now able to get the full view of “Jack”, dingy, strange apparel, gas mask… He laid down, feeling capable and in control of the situation, his paws crossed as he extended his neck out to talk to the fox. “And your goal by coming here is?”
Jack:: He wasn't all that startled as the demon made its move, moving closer. He had the feeling he was used to this before, but he couldn't quite remember anything like this. He flicked his tail a little, barely looking at the oposing fox who had seemed to take him in rather quickly. "I was looking for answers."
Ziz:: “Hmmm.” His tail flicked while he was in thought. ‘This fox…short on words, or maybe that just well trained.’ Ziz slowly realized he had his own questions for Jack, but Ziz wanted to see what he had say first. “Well then first question.”
Jack:: Standing still, Jack didn't seem to raise his head any more than before. "First question it is then; Of the purposes in life one has, what is mine?" He knew that no one could give him a response, but it was worth a shot. Jack didn't have much to lose anyways, seeing how his lack of value and place in the world was evident.
Ziz:: Ziz’s mouth opened for a second, but was taken back is question, by evidence he was not prepared for that. Of all questions, why was that first and could it even be answered, by a stranger no less. The prince leapt from the table and with a flap from his wings his landing was silent. “Well then…” Ziz was now to the side of Jack facing the opposite way, his devilish spaded tail rose up underneath the his muzzle and then pulled it up and towards him to get another good look. Then demon’s hair was brushed to the side, just ever so slightly, but enough to see his violet eyes. “Your job is to struggle through, what the living consider, life, listening to your superiors, following orders, pleasing, until you die? Right?” His question back was short, but very simple and the demon hoped for me than just a yes or no.
Jack:: Jack looked upwards, looking rather caught off guard, but quickly drops his head in a rather meek expression. After the demon had come so close to him, he found himself uncomfortable being so close to someone for so long, but felt the tail lift his face back up. Trying his own answer, Jack glanced back, feeling his most certain answer arise from his throat, single word more than just confirming it with the demon, but also with himself. "Yes."
Ziz:: Ziz watched and waited, carefully timing himself. Then moved his tail, but with a flick he grazed the other male’s cheek. This was kind of his way for showing his keenness to Jack, but everyone was entitled to their on aspect of showing interest. “Not a good enough answer, Jack.” The demon walked back into the marbled room. “Follow me.” Not a question a demand. “Question Number two? If you even have anymore after that and then… Who do you work under now? Did they send you here.” The demon was starting to put thing in queue to see if he was able to handle more than one order and if he would take orders from someone other than whom he was currently working for.

Jack:: The young pawn didn't try to blink, taking his turn to answer them, face now parallel to the ground, following the demon with no questions more whatsoever - if there was anything he remembered, there was n doubt that disobeying was absolutely forbidden. However, as much as he could think, he couldn't remember the name or face of his former master. There was not even a familiar glimpse or fragment of the male - he couldn't even remember if that person was male at all . "I follow where me feet take me now." Almost like a deserter, he almost added, feeling rather guilty on the whole situation before. He had not a clue what was so important that drove him away from his original missions and master, but he was lacking the memories of anything involving that. "I've had no master for quite some time."
Ziz:: The demon gave an inaudible sigh and lead the lost lackey to a study of his. It was still dark, but as a smaller room the fireplace did a good job at keeping everything seeable. The corner of the room had just piles, upon piles of stuff. Jewels, books, maps if Jack made off with just one he could do quite well for himself, though it’s not recommended many of those items are cursed; Ziz’s hobby in a way was examining them, learning and using its power. “How sad an underling with out his Master.” Two leather chairs on either side of a small wood table sat nearby the fire. The prince jumped into one and motioned for Jack to join him in the other chair. “Relax, don’t make it in order unless you can’t relax otherwise…” His front claws tapped at the leather of the chair making a decision. “I could use someone like you. I suppose. But you don’t seem to show much self worth. I need a lackey who will survive, A fox without that spark could easily just not care and…” And well, the next part could get gory depending on if Ziz sent him out on a particularly dangerous task. But alas he took to silence again.

Jack:: The room was rich with many luxuries. Jack, if returned to his kithood, would have at least run up to expect any of the curious belongings - but he wasn't a child anymore. He kept his head low at the remark, finding it just the words he knew most. Instead of sitting opposite to the demon, he knelt to the ground on a knee as he was accustomed to. The words of the demon gave seemed to burst aflame something in him - if he would have to keep himself alive to find meaning, he would do it. "The will to live is as strong for me to find way in life. If I must show you that I can survive, I will."
Ziz:: The demonic fox paused, taking notes on Jack’s idea of relaxing; which truth be told, didn’t look very comfortable. Ziz also took in the feeling of having someone around, strange. ‘How long has it been?’ For the past few years he was his only company, only venturing out to get find other magical objects every so often… ‘Strange.’ He repeated in his head. Beneath his unkempt silver locks, his brow rose in interest. “Bold words, for someone who just a minute ago couldn’t lift your eyes from the ground.” He gave a devilish grin; the underling brought upon himself a challenge.
“Walk through that fire.”
Jack:: Bold? He would laugh out of embarrassment if he weren't so struck with the situation. Bold, at a given, was more than anything a servant could handle. Jack held himself together, nonetheless, fixated on the strange command. Strange as it could be to anyone, he considered the element of flame a friend of his, having dealt with it as his own weapon sometimes. He nodded briefly, acknowledging the words and turned towards the fire. Challenge accepted. He took his steps into the flame, thoughts only on getting through - wait, through?
Ziz:: Hypnotically beautiful, the fireplace seemed alive, dancing to it’s own hellish choir. Ziz’s leer continued, watching the pawn take his first steps in to the flames. A loud hissing made the prince’s ears twitch leading him to jump off the chair. The world went tumbling forward, or rather they did, suddenly it was much cooler and darker. This room existed behind the fireplace, yet none of it’s light touched it. Ziz had this room built for his most precious items; no one would be stupid enough to walk through fire. “Imprudent, much?” Ziz was poised above Jack, with his large clawed paw over his neck. “Or just trusting, which is also stupid.” He pressed harder on the young one’s throat. “Still no one else has made it through, not for lack of tries.” A low growl rumbled from his throat, as belief he could actually be letting a stranger be minion. “Final question … Are you willing to take this pain.” He didn’t mean the pain he was causing him right now; the demon meant always. Ziz knew the things he did hurt people, messed up, as it is he also knew he wouldn’t change.
Jack:: The sudden acceleration of movement put Jack into a rather uncomfortable position - well, no matter, it was hard to please himself, anyways. With claw pressed over his neck, Jack groaned a little, still a tad bit dazed from the tumble. Recovery of his senses was quick, and with the sense of danger, he managed to cease the his heavy, oxygen deprived breathing, lowering into a low silence. He didn't have the chance to take in the new room that had been connected by the fire, but well, when one was on the ground ready for the next strike, what could they do? "A minion is expected not to question an order." Lying still, he turned his eye to the demon who could be the one who could end his short, tattered life - there was something familiar about all of this: just not in the same, exact way things were going right now. However, expectance of pain, on the other hand, was nothing new to him either. "Always." Jack liked to think that he wouldn't like to have it any other way.
Ziz:: A sinking feeling hit the demon, as much as he wanted to blame in on the chill of room it wasn’t. Could it a sense of power looming over this subordinate, or more likely the fear letting someone one else in? Ziz heavily sighed, many questions on his mind that he knew the poor soul couldn’t answer for him. He stepped off Jack’s throat and further back into the room. The back wall was a series of giant shelves carrying a books on every subject and in the corner a small desk covered in paper and a floating statue (Ziz’s most recent project.) “You’ll stay here for three days to see if I can tolerate you.” As he walked up to the bookcase, it slid away as if on demand, opening to a hallway that match the rest of the underground home. “I’ll show you to your room now and I will call you down for dinner.” The fox slipped into the hallway, walking slow for his guest to follow. “At the end of those three days I will share my name with you. Until then…just refer to me as Master or something.” His inexperience with having an underling was showing through, but he was drained and needing some sleep before dinner. The first door on the right was deemed good enough; as he opened it for Jack. The room was a bit brighter, and fully furnished, also a quaint closet filled with clothes. “The room usually shifts to the owners needs, and you may even find things from your previous home that are near and dear to you. Clean up before dinner, Jack.” And with that the demon strode away down the hallway.
Jack:: Jack managed to raise his eyes a little, almost surprised - no, he was definitely shocked. The young fox got up after his new master, entering through the hallway. "Y-Yes... Master." He managed to keep himself straightened for the rest of the time the demon's presence remained, and took a deep breath when he was alone in the room. 'Clean up, he says,' he thought as the room remained as it was - he hadn't lived in a home, or any room for as long as he could remember, and he didn't mind how it was like for the time being. 'Well... I'll manage, I guess.' After managing to clean himself off and put on a good change of clothes, he took the time to think about all of this. He was taken in again - no longer a wanderer fighting to live for no reason. The life he was granted before was now slowly coming back.
