Captain Melissa Reddington
Melissa paused in her nail-cleaning to look up and star at Alaina. Is she insane? Is that why no one ever took her before? “Scared to be around me?” What kind of bullshit is that? She cleared her throat and shook her head.
“Let me give you a little lesson, princess. The pirates that no one knows about are the pirates that you have to be worried about. I’m one of them. The Port was the first settlement I’ve attacked in three years that I didn’t completely sack. An’ by ‘sack’ I mean kill everyone. Man, woman, child. After a little pillagin’ an’ rapin’, of course. I need t’ keep men like James peaceful somehow.”
She shrugged without remorse. Melissa’s conscious had been killed a long, long time ago; after she lost everything and everyone, the sea became her only home.
“Have you ever been sailin’ before?”
[Sounds like a plan! ^^]

Princess Alaina Mierlia
She shook her head at her question "No" she answered "I've never sailed before, this is my first time on a ship" she moved and glanced out the window that was there seeing the water all around the pirate ship. "I have never even seen anything outside the gates of my home, not even my own town, they have never seen me before...ever" she glanced back at the captain.
"If you're wondering why, I can not tell you myself. My father always just said it was for my protection" she breathed out and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear "I'm guessing it is because of people like you"

Melissa smiled widely.
“Good news! This means that I won’t have to hide our destination from you, or even keep you pinned up in here the entire time.”
Those experienced with sailing can tell where a ship was going and usually find their way back again. Still, just as a precaution, Melissa wasn’t going to take the Alaina to her primary hiding place. Maybe the Quiet Isle?
“…Are you tryin’ to tell me you’ve never even been outside of your castle? This must really be a kick in the head, ain’t it?”
She laughed.

Alaina hated how the captain was laughing at her expense and it almost sound like she was having a good joke about it too. She shook her head "Yes and it was pointless for your crew to make me look this way because the townsfolk would not even notice me even if they saw me" she said to her as she was growing tired and irritated and hated how grimy she felt right now. "You have other clothing you said for me to wear don't you?" she asked her.

Captain Melissa Redington “We didn’t know that that at the time. Now we do.”
Melissa nodded at the chest behind Alaina.
“The clothes are’n there…But it’s much of the same that you’re wearin’ now. Silks an’ satins have no place on ships…particularly mine. No formal dinner wear here. Oh, an’ speakin’ of eatin’, you are allowed to dine with me, if you prefer that over the general mess with my crew. They eat in shifts, startin’ at around six or so, and I eat alone in my cabin, at seven-thiry. Your choice…princess.”
She had evidentially finished cleaning her nails and tucked away the long dagger back into it’s home on her belt. It was clear from Melissa's body language that she wasn't going to leave soon; if Alina wanted to change, she would be forced to change in fron tof the captain. The thought made Melissa smile. Modesty has less of a place on my boat then silk does.
“There’ll be a guard on your door, but thing nothin’ of it. He’ll escort you around the ship if you want to leave your cabin, mostly to make sure you don’t hurt yourself or send off any kind of message or somethin’ like that; he’ll also be playin’ maid to you, so if you ever need anythin’ talk to him.”

Princess Alaina Mierlia
When the captain spoke of the outfits in the drawer, saying of no outfits that Alaina normally wears she nodded her head "I expected no less for a pirate ship" she turned to go to the chest and opened it up seeing the outfits that were inside. An unpleasent look came over her face as she wasn't kidding about no formal wear on her ship.
"I prefer to dine with you, over your crew" she choose since Captain Melissa did give her a choice on who she wanted to eat with.
Lifting up one of the outfits she turned and looked back at the Captain. "I'm sure that person is thrilled to be servicing someone like me" she said of course not meaning it. Being a maid to a princess for a pirate, Alaina was no fool and knew that wasn't the most high ranking job they would want.
The outfit she grabbed was not much better than the one she had on. Looking at Melissa she seemed like stone where she sat and Alaina knew she was not going to move. Turning her back she took the purposely dirtied up garb she wore, revealing her back to the women. Alaina was used to dressing around other women because it was the maids who helped her get dressed. Alaina's skin was very delicate looking, not a muscle made on her for she never had to do an ounce of work in her life. Unlike most women who had grown muscles from what they worked, or hands who had gotten more rough over the years. It was how princess's were more valued for when they were given away for marriage. A Prince fit to be King soon was a wife who is proper, with soft skin and like most men a attractive face.
She placed on the new pair of clothing and when finished, fixed her long hair so it didn't look so messy. Turning back around she felt slightly better in these new garmets, the only thing left that was worth anything was the jewel around her neck, and of course Alaina herself was worth a lot of pretty pennies.

Captain Melissa Reddington “I expected as much. The crew really ain’t as bad as James paints them to be. But, suit yourself. It’ll be nice to have a female on board, at least.”
Melissa shrugged.
“She’s not feelin’ much of anythin’ anymore. She’s dead.”
She politely turned her eyes away from the changing Alaina and roved once more around the room, making sure that everything was in perfect order for their “guest.” Can’t have her getting it into her fool head to try an escape. Or worse. She already cost me a ship; I need her to pay out. When the princess was properly attired, the pirate allowed her gaze to return to her; Melissa’s eyes latched hungrily onto the jewel hanging around Alaina’s neck. The cut of the dress exposed the expensive gem fully and Melissa couldn’t seem to pull her eyes away from it.
“Now where did you get a bauble like that, princess??”

Princess Alaina Mierlia
Her eyes followed the Captain's eyes to her jewel around her neck. Seeing her staring at it with a look of greed Alaina's hand flew up and covered the gem, holding it tightly as it still remained around her neck. She looked at the Captain again, her blue eyes now blazed with a certain protection over the jewel. "It was given to me by my mother when I was a child" she told her. "She is dead now and is the only thing I have that is remembrance of her" her hand tightened around the jewel, she could feel the edges poke into the skin of her hand as her eyebrows furrowed angrily. "It is not for someone else to take" she added a tone in her voice that sounded angry.
Her mother when she handed it to her had told Alaina to never take the necklace off, no matter what the cost. The way her mother spoke to her about it, her voice sounded urgent and meaningful. Since then Alaina has never let it leave her neck, no matter what.

Melissa raised an eyebrow at Alaina's impudence.
"You're sittin' in my cabin, wearin' my clothes, surrounded by my men, on my ship, in the middle of the ocean; no one even knows where you are, princess, and you have the gall to resist me?"
She laughed lightly.
"Hand the trinket here, princess."

Alaina took a step back still holding tightly to her necklace. "No" she said rather bluntly, her voice though was strong and she wasn't going to give it to her just because the captain told her to hand it over.
She didn't care that she was on the pirate ship surrounded by the captain men and her, she didn't care if the Captain wanted to hurt her for the jewel she wasn't going to give it up. Something in her heart besides that it belonged to her mother was unique about it. The day Alaina put it on even when she was a little girl she still remembered the feeling it gave her to wear it and she wasn't going to cave.
"You kidnapped me Captain, isn't the reward you will recieve for returning me enough for you?" she questioned, thinking she was being greedy which didn't really surprise Alaina, the captain was a pirate after all.

Captain Melissa Reddington
The lightheartedness that had infected Melissa's inflections and very body language was gone. She did not like being denied what she felt was hers. She had, in fact, worked very hard to move herself out of a position where someone might deny her something she'd rather not be denied.
“I’m not goin' to ask again, princess.”
Either she didn’t realize, or she was pretending not to remember the fact that she hadn’t asked Alaina for it in the first place. She drew her dagger again, and used it to point at the necklace.
"That necklace is worth at least half of what you are. It's more then enough to buy me another ship and patch up the ones I have now."
