You only worship what you choose. Although, some people do end up worshipping something without realizing it (living, breathing, obsessing, and addicted to something), but I believe if you have a proper faith, Yahu'weh will point you in the proper location to help to realize your sins.
Me & my mother had a talk about sun gazing and how far people go with it and how far it could be considered worshipping the sun itself.
So, if all you do is research conspiracies and NOTHING else, yes. I believe it could be worshipping it.
However, if your intentions are good, I don't believe researching a subject and learning about it is evil. You must keep your mind on a holy base.
For a while I was almost turning agnostic/atheist when researching conspiracies. I took a break, for about a month, where I prayed my heart out. Eventually, I came across something that was basically a sign from God saying "Duh, I exist. WTF were you thinking?"
