Come on, guys.. Mewtwo is by far the legendary with the most impact on the game in competitive battling. In my opinion, the Uber tier was made solely to keep him out of play (originally, like in gen 1). Sure Mew was good then (the only other Uber at the time), but I think the game has changed a lot having such a fearsome pokemon as Mewtwo in existence, emphasizing that the game needs rules to be balanced. For those who aren't familiar, there was no counter against Mewtwo back then. Your only chance was to paralyze it and Explode on it. And, if you don't recall, the Special stat then, had not been separated into a defense and offense. And he had access to Amnesia? Basically a +2 Sp. Atk, +2 Sp. Def nowadays, so nothing could touch him on the special side, while also having a ridiculous amount of offensive power. His Critical hit ratio was high (pokemon had their own critical hit ratios (dependent on speed, maybe? That's what I've heard)), Blizzard had 90% accuracy, and he even had access to Recover. And, personally, I love the design, origin and everything about him. Ironically, he was extremely hard to use in gen 2, thanks to the special split, loss of a quick boosting move, as well as Special behemoths, Lugia and Ho-oh.

To sum it up, I believe Mewtwo has had a huge impact on pokemon. Though, the Uber tier still probably would have came around at some time. Still, I wonder how much different the game would be without him. Surely, it wouldn't have developed as quickly, possibly even losing many fans and popularity, though a bit of a stretch.


Gen 1 Mewtwo = God on Steroids. That is all.

It's been awhile I've been here. Reason is because well as soon as I got back from Band camp my DS broke util today, the last day of summer. lol

anyways My fave is Lugia. not because of stats but because it's celestrial bird that has hands for feathers and a sleek cool design and it talks, just like Mewtwo. One epic battle I wish would happen would be between Mewtwo and Lugia.

Anyways Mewtwo was a genius. a pokemon that decided " Hey why not own a house and build a army of clones". thats is one Diobolical pokemon and not one since him, has ever did anything like that that diobolical and evil. so he makes the list of my favorite legendaries.

lastly Rayquaza. he's green and mean and he had an ability that Fudged up any and all weather effects. which protected it from thunder and hail and many other moves that would;ve killed requaza.

That is quite an odd assortment.
