Lucian looked with awe at him. No one usually ever got a fairy to give them their heart, even briefly. As his story progressed, he tried to be as calm as possible and succeding only so much. "It is an great honor to hear your story. Your father is probably one of the few true parents that lived in this world. You are also one of the few people that any fae has trained willingly, albeit not without some design," he said, saying just enough as to show just very little kindness, as Seth seemed like a guy who didn't accept a lot of kindness just a brief pass. As she mentioned his military life, he was fascinated. Someone so young enlisting and then making thhe ranking he had now was quiet a feat. "I am greatful to hear your story. I will not forget it," he said simply, clossing his eyes to remember it and then opening them again.

"Well I'm pretty sure she had a reason, see as I kept getting myself into trouble she had to keep coming to save me. After all the heart of one of the most powerful faeries in a weak human child? It's mighty tempting to even some Seelies. After all if I die, she dies. So to not have to save my a** so often, she trained me to become a better fighter. Also teaching me how to ill various faeries. For example, Kelpies will shrivel and die in the sun. You just not have to touch them is all." Seth said matter-of-factly, a slight sheepish smirk on his face, as he recalled all of his near death experiences and having her come in out of nowhere and having to rip the other faeries apart, and beat them down brutally into submission. "And as for how my dad got her to agree... well...." Seth rested his right hand over his heart. "She was in love with him. And if she didn't agree to loan me her heart he threatened suicide. But the second time he had to beg her, I've never seen my father like that, to beg someone like that- my father was a very strong and proud man he'd never lower himself like that. But I was all he had... He would rather die than live the rest of his life miserably. "

"That is a very dedicated father," Lucian said trying to see his father do the same thing for him. It was an impossible thing to do. As he learned of why the faery helped her, his opinion of her continued to climb. "That is an interesting life story. Even mine couldn't match up to it. The only thing we seem to have in common is that we were raised in some way by the fae," he said after thinking for a bit.

The only thing we seem to have in common is that we were raised in some way by the fae," he said after thinking for a bit. "Thank you. I'm honored you feel that way. My father was, for all that he could show he was with me... Often enough he was away, but he'd try to make it up as best he could. So yeah- he was a good dad. And I can say that I am proud of him.... So that's how I got here today so far... Well there are other people too I should thank but that was more on my military life. I'm not sure how you know her, but around these parts I have heard that she is titled as 'Lagrae' here." Lagrae, Seth had figured that name was given to her granted by the fog that she would surround herself with, to conceal herself from mortals and other faes, and at times there would be a scent alerting other faeries to keep their distance.

Lucian stared at her blankly when she said the name of her benefactor. He didn't bother to know the name of them. Though the name seemed familiar, he couldnt quiet place it. "I'm sorry if I may seem rude, but I don't know anyone by that name," he said apologetically.

"Her skin's deathly pale as the moon o'er us, Eyes virescent as the vast moor But they've seen so much war -and thus, Why she is a soul so forlorn.
Her wings blazoned with autumn Hair darker than dusk Nails like talons tipped in venom Makes a hunter known for being brusk.
The lady of the forest, has know so much war, and so do beware of her scorn."

As she described Lagrae, his skin started to crawl. He knew this one, knew her very well indeed. She had been described in such manner for most of his stay in the forest. He even saw her once at a distance. "That one is one that I never wish to cross. I saw her once, and I have no doubt she saw me. I stayed out of her way and I made sure that we wouldn't be going the same way for to long," he said and shivered at the memory. "There is only so much of that presence one person can take, and I reached my limit when I caught sight of her. I ran and ran hard, even forgetting I had wings," he added.

Seth laughed a bit and nodded closing his eyes, "Yes, that would be her." He looked to Lucian again, "A real piece of work, isn't she? Even I sometimes can't bear her. She can be so domineering at times.... and stubborn." Seth made a disgruntled face at the memories of Lagrae's training sessions, and how demanding she would be at times.Dahy whinnied softly and the horse threw its head around and kicked at the dirt with its left fore hoof. It was impatient now.

Neila stirred in her bed, her sheets mangled about her legs and twisted around her torso. "Mmmrrrrrnnnhh..." "Morning love." A plump but cheery old woman hovered above Neila, a plate with two hot piping sunny side-up eggs and slices of toast, and a steaming cup of creamy fresh milked, all this filling the room with the smell of food, stirring the hungry beast within Neila's stomach. "Ohhh, sunrise? It can't be." Neila pried her eyes open, and looked to the window at the far side of the room across from the end of the bed. "Morning Granny Banty." The young woman sniffed to the food, "Mmm... How about you hand me that plate, it must be hot. And I'd hate for your magnificent hands to burn." "Ms. Casey, such flattery does not always get you what you want. Besides.. you're out of uniform, there's no need to behave yourself a man." She said and lowered the plate to Neila. Neila chuckled, taking her pillow and throwing it over her lap, taking the plate and balancing it atop the pillow. "In all seriousness Granny- I really appreciate all your hard work. If strawberries and creams are not enough for you just tell me!" After saying her graces, the woman picked up one of the eggs with her fingers folding it delicately and stuffed it in her mouth, practically swallowing it whole. "Mmm- mm!" she picked up the the cup and chased down the egg with a swig of milk. "Oh god, the canteen's food doesn't come close to this." "Slow down, Ms. Casey! There's no one here to take your food from you." The faerie began turning away but kept her watch on Neila. Caressing the surface of the drawer with the tips of her fingers, she brought her fingers to her sight. No dust, and her lips curled to a pleasant smile. Granny Banty had been in Neila's service since the third month the young woman had moved into this house, she could hardly imagine any other life. It was pleasant here, and Neila made good company when she was present, helped when she could and tended o her even. Neila had picked at her remaining egg with the first slice of toast and with the second slice of bread had cleaned up the yolk from the plate, washing it all down with the rest of the creamy warm milk. "Ah... That was exquisite." "Oh, you should lean up and get ready for later on today. You told me to remind you that some officer is coming to pay a visit." She picked up the plate and the cup n separate hands each and almost floated out of range. "Bloody-" Neila, sprang up and almost tripped on her sheets but caught herself and pulled them off, tossing them back on the bed. "I have to get ready." And off she went, to wash up, bind her chest, and comb her hair, and fashion herself from Neila Casey, to Seth Wrayburn.

There was a gentle knock at the door. Bright and early, at 10 hundred hours. As was Geoff's curt, militaristic way. His breath rasped in the early morning wind, and his eyes, visible through the mask that saved his lungs a load of stress, scanned the door. Clem was stationed behind him, stifling a long, drawn out yawm. " Sir, Don't ya' think this is a smidgen early? Ya' had to wake me up, I bet we are wakin' up Colonel Wrayburn too. " The was a small laugh beneath Geoff's mask, and the man's shoulders moved as well. " You should have been up at o'six hundred. That's procedure, young man. " Geoff said, reminding the younger officer.
Geoff placed his hands behind his back, grasping the gloved palm of the other hand. He felt the reassuring weight of his gaseous guns beneath the black overcoat. Only three of the four were available now, the other one had a fatal clog. Damn those mechanisms, Geoff just didn't have the precision to fix it. Sure, He could make it, but hell, those small chambers didn't do well for his eyes.

"I only wish I was Colonel. I'm close though. Top o'the morning t'ya, sirs." He leaned against the frame making space for the two to pass on in, keeping the door from swinging back in with his arm. He was more lax, a pair of sturdy pants, and some brown leather shoes with a light dress shirt unbuttoned down to his collar bone, his light brown hair combed over to his right. "Come in, come in."
