At work the women all gossip, and it seems to be never good gossip. I want to stay away from this as much as possible, but they try to warn me about people. I kinda want to make my own judgements. I keep getting pulled back in. I want to be my co-workers friend, but they have decided its really us against the management. How do you even deal with this kind of s**t, besides ignoring and kinda putting people in their place? I don't want to be rude, but I also just want to do my job. :C
tl;dr: dem bitches gossip. How do I run run run?

The best thing to do is just act interested but don't take it seriously. Some gossip may be true, but most of it spawns from moments that are taken out of context and blown out of proportion- and it will just make you hate someone for no reason.

Lol, I just did a corporate training thing yesterday about this. It's best to actively steer the conversation back to the work at hand. One of the examples was "Did you hear about ?"
The answer was "No, but I'd like to focus back on ."
Basically it said even if you don't contribute, listening in on office gossip can sometimes make you guilty by association, and hurt your image, and it promotes a negative work enviornment.

I work with 4 other ladies and they are all usually complaining about 1 and other, usually more so 1 girl then everyone else.
2 of them sort of hate each other so they both complain about each other to me.
I just listen and make little non committal comments
I always say I like to stay neutral like Sweden

I look at my coworkers and say "Yes, I'm aware you think xyz, however, I also know you talk s**t behind my back too, so let's just pretend I don't know about any of it and continue with our day".
I always admit that I know people talk and that I'm sure I am not exempt from their discussions, however I'd rather stand on my merit as an good employee than what I did on Friday night and if Jessica Black was there or not.
