Lena approached the rocky band egg next, though the size made it rather unlikely it was a dragon to be interested in her. At least, that was the assumption she had until her fingers brushed shell, and the mental touch half assaulted her with a need to stay and, more importantly, to admire it. So friendly, and probably a handful, Lena surmised. Well, if it was indeed a bronze, the vanity and the need for attention might be well enough served. Even if it wasn't a bronze, someday she suspected the hatchling inside the egg would still find a way to gather attention to itself. Hopefully the candidate it chose would be able to shower the creature with praise enough to meet its needs...or know how to catch attention more effectively.

She moved next to a pair of eggs close together, touching the guiding light egg next. It was quite small, and quite kind to the mental touch, though it seemed to shy away a bit from revealing more than its love and patience. The orbiting egg beside it was another very welcoming to the touch, though it didn't quite seem to want her to go. Or anyone close by, perhaps, as its attention seemed to shift towards the egg it leaned against. Flighty, capricious, friendly...almost certainly a green? They did seem to have quite a bit of fun. Well, blues had a reputation for such things as well... I'll be interested to meet you on the Sands! If only to find out what exactly the egg held within...

The next egg she approached was tilted towards the one she'd just left, and she placed her hands next on the distant sea egg. Another welcoming, cheerful sort—this was quite a well-tempered clutch, wasn't it? It seemed inquisitive as well, a trait Lena certainly approved of. She only hoped there were enough candidates who were the warm, caring sorts at this rate! Not that she'd had any encounters to complain of with her fellows.

If she'd thought the last egg inquisitive, the next was doubly so! The brilliant flash egg was another very friendly sort—Lena was certainly sensing a pattern. Bubbly and confident, she suspected green or blue once more, but you never knew. I'm sure you're just waiting to talk Yours' ears off Lena thought with a smile, patting the egg very lightly and fondly before moving onto the next.

She found the swirling egg also enthusiastic, though perhaps more in the impatient manner. Assured and eager, she was sure this one might also be a handful, though she suspected the ride would be very interesting indeed. As large as the egg was, it was likely to be headed for the males. Remember to stop and enjoy that scenery you're passing every now and again~ she thought warmly to the egg, wishing it well.

When she placed her hands on the burning egg, she realized the clutch wasn't all full of sweet tempers. My, my, impatient and prideful! Though it didn't really seem at all keen on being touched, she hung on for the requisite few moments, even if she doubted its temper would be searching for anything near her own. Ambition wasn't necessarily a bad thing, though, and she assumed this egg would be searching for someone full of it...or someone it deemed needed it, perhaps?

The explosive egg was another testy touch; Lena got the distinct feeling she was being criticized for perhaps touching it the wrong way. It did seem to be a strong sort of mind; no doubt it would seek someone its equal in wit. Once she'd fixed what she felt had been 'wrong' with her touch, the egg was rather amenable, really. Most curious~

The next egg to be touched was the clouded egg, set a ways off but still near the one she'd just left. Ooh, even angrier! She'd be avoiding this one once shell broke; she had a feeling it was the sort just testy enough to not care about candidates getting its way once the time came to find Theirs. Find the one for you quickly, please, was all she asked of it; angry of a dragon as it might be, she certainly didn't wish the poor thing between.

She took a detour out to the very edges of the clutch to approach the void egg, whom she found distinctly gloomy. Not one prone to negative thoughts herself, she merely found her mood dampened, which it'd already been from the grouchier eggs of the clutch. This one, perhaps, might benefit from the touch of a candidate sunnier in disposition? Or perhaps Theirs would be the type prone to brooding as well. The thought of rider and dragon brooding together was rather comical, really, and Lena did her best not to snicker as she returned closer to the main collection of eggs.

Her next stop was the scattered stars egg, whose patient, aloof mind was rather a relief after some of the others. She really wasn't certain if this one was even paying attention to the human minds attempting to make contact with it...well, perhaps it was focused on pondering more important things, who knew?

The last egg Lena had yet to touch was likewise on the fringes of things, and she was somewhat cautious as she touched the shell of the tailing trail egg. Oh! What was she? Well, if she was weird, then surely the egg had felt rather a lot of oddity today with all the candidates wandering around touching it. Still, it seemed warm as the first of the eggs Lena had touched, and perhaps a touch excitable, as if it wanted to get out and see the world. Certainly a dragon would do rather a lot of that—well, once they'd managed the flying part, anyway. Perhaps it would be a rather long wait for this dragon...well, there was plenty to see on the ground, too. Not to mention the Sands--see you there, I suppose, Lena thought with another smile. She glanced over the clutch once more to be sure she'd touched them all at least once. Then, duty done, she moved off the Sands with the rest, rather looking forward to the rest of the day.

((Tawny said it would probably be okay for me to post this, but if not, just ignore ^-^ ))

Making her way back to the center of the clutch and still slightly appalled at the void egg, she touched the first egg she knew she had not already greeted, and was overwhelmed by the sense of welcome and demanding for attention that the rocky band egg sent her way. Cheered almost instantly, she was happy to spend some time with the large egg, sending it well wishes and wondering if it would honestly remember any of them when it hatched, and finding that she rather hoped it would.

Reluctantly moving on, the next egg she touched seemed rather curious, and she smiled at the brilliant flash egg. It seemed rather happily confident, and Melina thought that this was a simply wonderful egg. "I'm sure you'll do well, little one," she whispered to it before noticing that most of the other candidates were either finishing up or done. With an apologetic thought at having to leave so soon, she hurried over to the last egg besides the queen, hoping to have time for them all.

This egg, the swirling egg, seemed warm and welcoming, but yet impatient, like it simply couldn't wait to hatch! Melina could understand and sympathize with that - she couldn't wait for them to hatch either! It seemed to have an understanding nature, so she rushed to the queen egg, hoping to spend more time with the big girl before she had to leave.

And there she was, the luminous egg, golden in all of her glory. Melina reverently placed a single hand on her egg, and immediately felt that this was a queen that would be a wonderful leader - powerful, confident, and intelligent, but not vain or conniving. Purely good thoughts and feelings linger inside this egg, and Melina suddenly felt a little jealous for whomever would Impress the little queen. She was such a wonderful girl, and seems to be rather intense. With a broad smile on her face, Melina left the eggs and gratefully took her hot feet of of the burning sands, taking off her sandals and placing the robe back on its peg with great care. The Touching was over, but she found herself somewhat lacking in patience now. There were so many that wouldn't find their partners, and she could well be in that group. Well, no matter. She had a few Turns, and the longer she stayed, the more work she could do plotting that comet that was worrying her masters.
