Character Name:
Yomi

Character Race:

Human

Character Age:

22

Character Gender:

Male

Character Height:

6'2"
Character Weight:

195lbs

Character Alignment: lawful neutral (This is due to a "Balance" needed to be upheald)

Character Occupation / Trade: Monk sad duties entail) Grounds keeping/ odd jobs and deliveries

Personality: He is a little bit of a mouthy Monk, immature to a point although quite knowledgable. His personality of being rude is based off of a code of conduc he has given himself, this being the fact that he wants to keep a completely balanced spiritual allignement, so as to master both the arts of Light and Dark. This is considered by his mansters to be quite impossible and he will one day slip up, due to the fact that the act of taking a life will be very difficul for a moral compass to percive as good and as very dificult to make up for. He is often quite quiet if given the oppertunity, in other word if he in not talked to as he has the habbit of giving a snarky response to anything asked towards him, and a rude one for stupid questions. Although he appears quite good natured, does his prayer, practices his scriptures and helps around the temple almost all the time. Even, although getting punished every time as the monks of his temple are taught to be passive, he has the habit of fighting with people who come to the temple to cause trouble, this is helpful and all but not really wanted, especially as he has shown a little bit of a nasty side in the fact he won't step into other matters easily that don't involve him or his temple as doing so would displace his compass, he can't run around being everyones hero... this at times will make people think he is not a balanced yet bad tempered fellow, but possibly a cruel and maybe even evil person. Although nobody at the temple feels this way, even if he does strain temper occasionally they have warned him that he should be a little more selfless and to help others in need.

Character Race Traits: Stubborn: No matter what Yomi is one of those stubborn people who will not accept the facts, this supplies him the will and effort to rise when he should not.... This also normally gets him kicked out of places.

slieght of hand: He has very good abilities to throw things around in his hands with it being easily noticed. He is often caught cheating at games that have money on the line, just as he wins due to the fact he stands up and cards fall or the like. This also means he can pass things off and hide them very easily. He can steal very very well, however he does have pride and moral values, hence he is not a common theif... he normally steals to effect his moral compass.
Current Levelling Points LP:

Current Level: Level 1

Description of Appearance: User Image

Skill Set: Beginner(1) Martial artist (Spiritual link)

Weapons/armor/items Carried:

The eyes of Janus(Spiritual braces): Following the arts of light and dark the monks of the temple have a few items, that in a skilled monks hand caan make the difference between life or death, for them or other people. A Master with The Bracers has the ability to augment blows they preform to strike the spiritual energy of a person out of them and cause them to tire very quickly after a few blows, this use it to "pierce" the force of an impact into an opponents body and cause heightened damage for the punches (Dark). Alternativley it allows the user to edit the spiriual energies of themselves or the opponent, allowing them to keep someone alive on the spirutal level for a short period of time and heal them lightly, to pushing or stunting the the force of blows or elemental attacks(light).... although they are mainly to assist teach someone use their spiritual energies, and the effects it gives are quite mediocre for people without proper training. The other reason is that they absorb the shock of impacts and don't seem to vibrate, making them hard to damage and good defense tools(meaning the actual usefulness of the effects become more useful as the users level increase's) (Spiritual strike effects only actually kick in as a very low strikeing bonus at Beginner level three, when capable of using them with proper knowledge and skill the Description will be editited when appropriate)

Wears of The Temple: Within the temple Two things are normally Worn, the disciple robes of Janus and The Prechers LongCoat of Janus.

Monk Robes:The Robes are standard looking Gi like robes (See picture) In a black and white checkerboard form, the left sleeve is black on front with on the back, vise versa with the right sleeve. The front of the robes are white, the back are black, with the large Ying/Yang symbol with a Set of Scales protruding from either side of the symbol to represent the wanted balance ofJanus's ideal wolrd. The Ying/yang symbols are also at the top of either wrist in opposite shade form.

Longcoat
The Coat is very simmilar, however each of its two seperate tails are opposite colors, right is black, left is white, on the front the colors are reverse, the sleeves the opposite from Monk robes and the Symbols are all positioned in the Same place. Besides a marking that stands for "Speaker of Janus" is located above the Symbol on the back of the Real Coats. Novice monk longcoats lack this symbol.

Disciple robes Of Janus(Beating Robes): Being as they are poor and if one follows the light sides purity way, being what most of the living elders are for semi obvious reasons, these robes were developed so that even if an old and feeble man, happened to fall victim to a beating due to his beleifs, being passive or even maybe having been shopping would at least be able to be pretty much uharmned if the people were not attempting to murder them, a general beating would feel like a fall to the most part. The clothes are specially woven and blessed under the Sacred Altar of Janus, who would provide protection to all who would wear his symbol. The robes are blessed with light spiritual energy, to make the fibers tough and always slightly edit themselves to best suit the person wearing them, they are even tough to burn and the like, making accident pro elder quite safe from harming themselve's, or from getting anything more than some bruisess if beaten on by thugs. The temple does also imply the fact that they only own one set of robes for each monk, meaning that they have to take very good care of the robes and cleen them regularily. Mysteriously enough the Robes do seem to repair if the owner treats them properly. However the Robes have not always protected their wearer, the fact of the matter is that one has to prove loyalties to Janus and train under the style of the Temples god, when recognisable levels have been reached, feats that have been preformned, Increasing in rank within the monk levels or by going on sort of spirit quests, often with reasons connected to appeasing their god.)

Level 1 effect: IT has the effect of silk armor, meaning very minor protection, the occasional possible lucky break that a SMALL blade or an inexperience blade (Those who do not specialize in weapons) Might not completely pierce the robes.

Preacher Longcoat of Janus(Beating Longcoat): This follow the same principle as the robes, but is a second layer, normally worn by arrogant younger member whos coat is actually not blessed, or members of the temple active in combat on a common basis, this item however is made of a thicker a material than the robes suprisingly enough and provides even better protection. It is Worn by the Monks who have been in service for at least twenty years and have memorized at least a quarter of one side of the Scripturs of Janus, this coat is a sign of authority within the Temple and has telltale symbol and such to give hint that it is someone of some note at least in there own peoples opinion...these clothes can gather respect from those seaking spiritual guidence or who has heard of/ respects the Temple of Janus. These clothes appear to be weighted quite a bit, although it appears when a member of the temple runs while wearing them the appear to get lgihter (At level four the robes are upgraded to a higher rank after returning to the temple due to the fact a member of this skill, will most likely have the required knowledge to be considered of the rank.)

Level 1: The same silk armor effect however ever so slightly more efficient due to thickness, as well as the fact it lightens when the owner is running.

Signature Moves:

Ying and Yang, the way of protection and destruction: This is the Martial art practiced by those at the Temple of Janus, the Merciful and Wrathful god of whoam they pray to. The principles lay in how one belives they are destined to be, evil or good. However they almost treatt hese side of the spectrum as a Karma of sorts, meaning that if someone is so evil, they will never be able to continue in the arts of light, vise versa for those who are pure. Although they practice in the use or Light and Dark spiritual energy....referred to as Ki when spritual allignment is unrequired, the training is in unarmned combat with the use of special bracers, produced by secrets that only the oldest of the elders know, hence the style they are taught is to defend them and be able to harness the energy, even if one day that the secrets were lost, or your braces broken.

The style involve Several very elaborate looking stances and a rediculous amount of reflexology and acrobatic ability forced into the person from a young age, the fact is that the style is built off of the fact they will not strike first, hence they have to be well educated in how to reduce the damage of an impact, or to dodge entirely before moving in to use counter blows, often against other people who fight without bladed weapon, they will take the blow of the foe to use the force value of the opponents strengh to heavily augment the blow as well as to get in the quickest possible response. The martial art is referred to as a dance when placed against other ones, as normally the practicioner will be keeping pace and blocking the opponents attacks while standing so close to them most of the movements are stunted from the full power, this makes it look like both peope are pretty much spinning around each other until one of them falls, however this is due to the fact that striking blows and deflected blows are hard to notice simply by sight making each hits force questionable. The main thing about members of the temple is the useage of speed and reflex's as well as to move with the flow of everything to either reduce chance of being harmned and to quickly work out how to read an opponents body so as to get a step ahead of them, often is the case that every time an opponent of one of them moves, they will move to match it, making conventional close combat tatics less effective than one would think due to the fact they will be moving almost exactly at the same time as the foe, most likely to ensure the ability to move out the way and move into an oppening. Often when striking, palm strikes are substituded in the place of punching, although this work more effective with Ki and grabbing.

Ones who practice the Light side, learn many defensive styles and mainly rely on counter, evasion, out enduring the opponent or catching them in a lock and forcing surrender or even by using various trick that can be taught, this is an efficient way of fighting someone without particularily being on the offensive... at higher levels certain "Ki" based strikes/skills will appear in the equation, with varying uses and effects, a very minor one of these is the "Spirit" Axe strike, although it use's very loose "Ki" control and more body knowledge than anything else. The Light based energy techniques when one is capable of truely useing them revolve around createing barriers out of the light spiritual energy. Any Light based stance will have the left hand turned upside down, bent at the elbow around the users waist, the body turned slightly so as to turn it as quickly as possible. The left hands fingers are folded in to allow easy access to a palm strike That is the defineing part of any of the light stances

On the Dark side of the equation, the style the user relies on requires quick strikes, useually aimned for weak points of the body, the locks connected to it normally end in a limb breaking strike, although apparent with reckless looking charges but the fact of the matter is following the dark style actually if better for evasive reaction tricks. although its defense is not nearly as impressive as Light energy. The dark energy, when used supplies very little in defensive abilities, mostly desighned for injuring and incapacitating a foe. The dark energy on high level user is considerably destructive, capable of multiplying the strengh of blows many times over. Although mostly that is mostly for higher skill members of the temple of coarse and the moves able to be utilized will be listed, the first one, more closely Related to Ki is "Black Palm" The standard part of the dark stance is actually called the "Reverse claw" This is because the right arm is risen into the air positioned slightly backwards the hand faces down, open slightly with the fingers in a claw like formation, the body is positioned simmilarily to the Light stance however the Users back foot is normall only balanced on its toes to allow a fast start. The hand is positioned like that as it is the "Perfect killing form" The user can choose to turn it into a fist, into a palm strike, keep it the same to snatch someone or even flatted out fingers to use them to peirce someones body. However one would need allot of training in the Dark style to be able to preform the full variety of lethality from the stance.

Super step: This is a trick that is taught to all of the monks at he temple, it is admitably not personal to him but rather his practice. This is the use of turning the body with the feet bent inwards a bit in a way that will let them do a 360 degree step around at a quick speed that will almost make it appear that they vanish, when actually it is they move with the opponent and end out turning to face behind the opponent, faceing the same direction as they started, making it look like they are gone and giving them the element of suprise or the time to run. The way this mainly works is that the person making the step will always move towards the side that the opponent is less bent toward, hence if someone is charging a person who can use this step and aims for a right arm strike, due to the fact most people partially turn the head to face where the blow is aimed this removes enough of the person vision on that side to give them the change to step out of the person proper line of sight just as it appears they were meant to be hit, the user will end out behind the opponent facing away from them....if a beginner of the arts does this more than twice in a row they will force a dizzy wave upon themselves, this dizzy spell is lost when someone is much more experienced and used to do the step constantly. This manouver works amazingly against slower foes and creatures, but against people as fast or quicker than one of the monks can most likely see right through the trick.

Rotating impact: Although not unique, everyone in the temle who practices is very skilled at twisting the wrist while preforming a blow to increase the force of the impact by three times as much.

(every time on spectrum is used, this counts in that spectrums favour on his moral compass, meaning normally unless useing more than one move in that post, there must be a varriation of technique after two posts of one.)

Light
Spirit Axe strike: This is, in appearance a Karate chop like strike, aimned towards any of the opponents joint to impact into the main nerve or muscle in the area and with a sporadict blast of Ki (This has no physichal appearance, on impact its happened essentially) It will normally if aimned correctly knock out the limb from the struck joint down.... however one needs practice to perfect using the move to ensure it always work the way it is needed to. (until beyound the beginner levels in Martial arts the attack is not going to work 100% of the time even if the opponent was hit with it perfectly, this is due to how well they can control the spiritual energy on impact.)

Dark
Weak Black palm: This is an impact based attack that when used will force an explosion of Dark spirutal energy from the palm andcause a shockwave a foot from itself in a cone like angle... this means if the strike would miss, it can still hit the opponent in a very weak way, almost as if being pushed by forceful wind, if the palm strike lands, the monk will push in the same "S" shape style as the one handed push that Tae Kwon Do demonstrates as a basic technique. The force of the push might be enough to throw someone off of their feet onto the ground, it can also wind them if the push hits the windpipe region of the body.

Background Story:

Yomi, follower of Janus, Preacher of the Sacred words was, much like most of the temples children left by his mothe who could or would not care for his as a baby and abandoned him without a name. Hence like all children of the temple he was namned after one of the Ten children of Janus Yomi, the Third born, The first son of Janus, tasked with keeping balance between his parents minds by finding and sacrificing a Pure being to appease the Dark half and saving an undeserving and cruel person who would have died without the intervention. This went on until Yomi had ran out of people to appease his parents with, hence sacrificed his being to be in an eternal Agony and Bliss, Dying and coming back to life forever to appease his parent minds from clashing with one another. It is Said the Seventh born, his little sister swapped him with the secound son, whoam she loathed so as to Save Yomi, Janus however noticed this and because Yomi had stopped being the perfect son only caring About Janus to its eyes , Yomi wasn't to earth to die as a mortal. According to the scriptures Die he did after making his own family, the bloodline supposidly/however without any supporting proof, ended at the Temple of Janus and that Yomi must have buil it to try and speak to his parent/parents one last time.

Yomi Is formaly know as a tempromental Monk, he has a little bit of a bad attitude because he is constanly bored and/or in a bad mood or even because of his chosen life standard. Yomi decided he would be a balanced Monk in the temple, tired of hearing "Following the Path of light will lead you to long life and many friends" or "Let the Darkness Envelope you, it will make you strong, powerful, but terrifying." Due to the Fact that he lived in such a...black and white place he decided everything in the world should be gray as that the only way to truely be right, Light is Bias by false nobility, Dark is Bias by cruel illogic.... Only in the world of grey can people truely understand one another, this is something close to Yomi's beliefs.

It is common that Yomi will get punished at the temple as he is not passive like the majority of the member (majority being on the light path, the Dark path members either leave to practice the fist or are Dead) He doesn't like it when rude people or abnoxious people and the like come near the temple of bother the monks when they are out trying to get donations or working for scraps. He won't be punished on the most part for doing things by himself, bu if other Monks are around they will normally punish him for violent behaviour.. they would get at him for his offensive nature but they are more reluctant to punish him over his personality. If the Monk heard that he for some strange instance did some great task like defeating a warlord or something to that avial... they would say that he did a good job... but theres a big chance he'll get punished for this to. This also seems to be if he loose's, he often gets punished for loosing at martial arts because he lost something he started, or that they belive he should have used to correct path and ran away unscathed.
