So far it's only our pre-band camp rehearsals, but the Freshmen are a total drag. It's soooo HOT. I'm dreading actual band camp (which starts on Monday)

I'm dreading actual band camp (which starts on Monday) I'm sorry for your pick of bad freshmen. But it is hot, believe me I know. One of our own passed out in the heat, but she's fine. But don't dread band camp, it's only for four years... It's fun to march around in the dead heat with a trombone or a twelve pound marching baritone. Or a flute or clarinet. Gotta love the brass spirit though.

Our band camp starts next thrusday and friday. Those days are freshman and rookie days, but normal members are allowed to come. I'm going to go, just to make sure the new sl doesn't need help(and to laugh in her face when she realizes it isnt all a picnic)

Ours starts next week our BD and marching instructor say they are gonna make it hard, which sucks. Luckily, we won't hit really extreme weather till friday when it hits 99.
Our freshman are awesome at marching so far and the winds are doing great with music... Percussion (specifically pit and basses) are not doing so well since the only percussionist that can read music is not taking control of the situation (he is SL) because he missed a lot of wednesday pre-band camp rehearsals cause he was in Spain, lucky ho!! gonk

OMG xd Band camp started today! I was so excited. I met new people and we finished learning the first part of our fieldshow. whee I had a great time today. I thought it was going to be difficult being a squad leader and section leader but the UCLA instructors and our instructors made it way easier on me. blaugh heart them instructors, band council, and band people!

Our band camp started 2 weeks ago. And let me say, down in the South, it's HOT as Hades. Talk about epic tanlines! We have our opener down, and played the 2nd mvt. for our preview show. It was awesome.

I mean, Florida should have more rain than we got... We got one sprinkle during our two hour dinner break...

Our band camp lasted two weeks. We learned all of the drill and music to the first the songs, and the first half of the drill to the last song. Our band camp is not just 9-12 graders, but 7 and 8 graders because of how small our school is. I believe we have 40 members this year, including guard. Our guard is almost as big as the band, which is good because the past years we've only had 3-5 total guard. And at the end of those two weeks, I have a nice tan, and a slightly burnt scalp. xD
