Background History:
Kazu was raised in a simple home in the Leaf. Both his parents were Uchiha from different branch families, which by some regard, made him a pure blood. His parents raised him in a way to accept nothing below a certain par and for the most part, he achieved this level of quality in all he pursued. He was raised to be apart of the Army for the Leaf, he was expected to be an ubermensch of sorts, he was an Uchiha, the pinnacle of what the Leaf could offer in a ninja, he had to be perfect.
Kazu was put in the academy at age 12 and graduated at 13. He was in the top ten of his class and was very promising. He took little to no interest in those who were his peers, he was always striving to achieve a greater level, but he didn't know what that level was.
When he was a genin he was placed in a small cell lead by a Jounin by the name of Samagara Ryuuji, an obnoxious loud mouthed jounin. His two teammates were Aburame Keito and Sumurama Mitsumi, two people he barely knew from the academy. Keito was of the Aburame clan, a clan of bug users and Mitsumi a young aspiring medical ninja. Kazu took little interest in these two, but soon enough after all of their low ranked missions together the chuunin exams came after a year. Kazu was excited, it was another chance to achieve a higher level. Before he could even blink, Kazu and his teammates were in the exam, going through the second test in the Forest of Death.
Here, Kazu discovered something about himself. He learned that he truly was happy in the heat of battle. During the trek in the Forest he was thrown into battle against a team from the Kusagakure. During this battle Kazu fought what seemed to be the leader of their group, a young man with a black katana. Kazu fought against him fiercly. Blows were traded but at this point the tension was high. The young man charged at Kazu to go for a horizontal slash. As the man charged, Kazu felt his heart beat uncontrollably as he felt things slow down. His eyes gleamed as they turned red with what appeared to be the three tomoe sharingan. Kazu avoided the slash and quickly stabbed the man in the arm with his kunai, causing the man to drop his katana.
Kazu bent over and picked it up as the young man screamed in agony. The young man pulled the kunai out of his arm, blood gushed out. Kazu's eyes thinned as he initiated the most powerful genjutsu he knew at the time. Tsukaeru no Jutsu. The young man began to choke and eventually passed out. Kazu retreated to find his teammates were fine and had taken care of the young man's teammates as well. This is where Kazu began to feel a bond with his teammates, almost as if it were the manifest of pride in them. Kazu kept that short katana as a prize of battle and as a symbol of his advance in his family's power.
The last of the rounds came and it was time for the tournament. Kazu was almost ecstatic to see that the young man from the forest had also arrived at the tournament, and that they were in the opposite side of the brackets. Kazu walked up to the man, handing him his katana. A short conversation took place and Kazu learned the man's name was Takanaka Mugen. He was the son of a samurai and a kunoichi. He chose the path of his mother and the battojutsu of his father. Kazu discovered he had a similar determination as himself. He wanted to perfect a style that combined the powers of the samurai and the abilities of the ninja together.
Before they could even continue speaking, Kazu was called to his first battle in the tournament. He fought a young girl from the Sand. She specialized in Wind techniques which made Kazu happy considering the only element he knew how to conjure was fire. The battle was aptly handled through a single Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Fire Release: Powerful Fireball Technique), a technique every Uchiha knew. The young girl had no way to counter it and was burned severely. Kazu smiled knowing his victory was praised, but he was disappointed it had come so easily.
Kazu's second battle in the tournament wasn't very remarkable either. He fought against a ditzy ninjuist who was over confident. Kazu handled the fight through a series of jutsus. Making a bunshin of himself throw a kunai that he had used the Henge technique to disguise himself as was a simple way of getting behind the girl. When she dodged the Kunai, Kazu reverted back to himself. As he stood behind her with a kunai at her throat and one pointed into her back, she surrendered unconditionally. Kazu had made it to the finals.
When Kazu arrived at the main stadium he looked on at the Brackets for the competitions. It was just by luck that he got to fight Mugen. When their battle finally came, Kazu felt this power inside him, this excitement. He felt a blood lust. It was as if he knew he belonged in the heat of battle. Almost as soon as the battle was said to start, Kazu lunged at Mugen throwing a kick at his bad arm. Mugen blocked with the scabbard of his sword. Kazu smiled as he landed. He hopped back and made a seal. Tenjou Gyakumodori (Heaven and Earth Reversal). Mugen was in mid charge as he felt the affects of the technique causing him to fall over. Kazu hadn't even realized but his Sharingan was in full affect.
Kazu taunted Mugen to get up. It was strange but Kazu had a smile on his face, a sadistic one of pure ecstasy. He kicked Mugen while he was down on the ground. Mugen eventually got up and reverted to his stance, he couldn't keep his balance. He couldn't figure out what it was, and Kazu simply laughed, he simply said, "Let me show you the true joy of battle!" as he made another seal. Ataeru Kanjoo No Jutsu (Inflict Emotion Technique). Mugen felt it immediately, he began to smile and laugh uncontrollably, he was in pure ecstasy, that was until Kazu stabbed him in the arm again, this time twisting the kunai as it dug deep into the Mugen's tricep. Mugen dropped his katana as he grabbed Kazu's arm with his left hand. He begged Kazu to stop and that he surrendered, but Kazu didn't he almost completely ruptured the muscle before the fight moderator pulled Kazu off of Mugen. It was clear Kazu had won that fight, and it was also clear something was wrong with Kazu, the whole village had spectated it first hand.
Kazu was promoted to chuunin but was watched closely. He began to develop his abilities more and more in the field of genjutsu. Kazu for some reason felt joy in controlling the thoughts and emotions of his opponents, he grew to develop them as he began to go on tougher and tougher missions. Training for the war what took up most of his time, but they went on missions as well. Eventually, almost a year later, he and his squad had received a mission to go to Kusagakure, specially requesting Kazu's presence. Kazu felt for some reason it was Mugen calling him, and he was right.
Kazu and his team went deep into the fields of grass to find Mugen standing there by himself. Kazu smiled sadistically at him. "How's the arm?" He taunted him. Mugen scowled as he asked Kazu's teammates to leave, they asked why, and Kazu answered. "Because me and him have a fight to finish." Mitsumi protested but Keito well understood Kazu at this point, he knew that there was no stopping Kazu once he was determined. He pulled Mitsumi back and took her somewhere where she wouldn't have to witness this fight.
Mugen and Kazu talked for a little. Mugen explained to Kazu that on that day of the chuunin exam he awakened something within Mugen. He awakened the same love for battle Kazu had. Kazu smiled, they agreed that they would fight until one of them could no longer anymore. Kazu's eyes unintentionally glowed crimson once again. The battle went on for nearly half an hour before the climax came. Kazu had used the Tsukaeru no Jutsu (Choke Technique) once again to slow Mugen's movements. He kicked the legs out from under him leaving him down on his knees. Kazu had a kunai to his throat. He asked for Mugen's opinion. Mugen simply asked for death. Kazu obliged killing Mugen. Kazu's blood lust reached a new level that day when he realized what the blood of a dead man felt like. His sharingan grew that day after Mugen's death reaching the level of Mangekyou. Kazu didn't have many bonds, but the bond by battle he shared with Mugen was deep, and to have cut it that day made Kazu more powerful than before. Kazu bent over and took Mugen's sword and scabbard as a keepsake of this battle.
Kazu returned to his teammates, the sharingan deactivated. They asked what happened, he said Mugen had a simple request and he obliged. Nothing more. Dissatisfied with the answer, Mistumi asked what he asked for, Kazu smiled and replied simply "A warrior's death." Mitsumi broke down in tears. Kazu was confused, but unconcerned. He walked past her as he started to head back to the village. Keito helped Mitsumi to her feet. Kazu turned his head back and asked if they were coming. Keito shook his head in disappointment towards Kazu as he helped Mitsumi walk back to the village.
The night Kazu returned he sat out on top of the Hokage stone faces looking at the sky. It was nearly 2AM when Mitsumi approached him. "Why did you kill him?" she asked. Kazu closed his eyes and looked down with a slight smile. "Its because he was like me. We only feel alive when in battle. Everywhere else, its just like we are passing through the motions." Kazu replied. "I only feel happy when I know I can be killed at any second." Mistumi sat down next to him. "Why can't you be happy with things aside from fighting? Why can't you be happy just living?" Kazu turned to her and smiled. "What purpose as a ninja do I have in life if I do not fight? Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong time period, these times of peace are tiring and make me wish something would happen that would cause us all to go to war." Mitsumi gasped at him. "Why would you wish for something like that?! You have plenty of purpose, to live and defend our village for one and two to help secure the village's lively hood!" Mitsumi yelled at him. Kazu shook his head. "What am I supposed to do to help the village's lively hood?" Kazu asked a little frustrated. "Well... you know." Mitsumi said. "I know what?" Kazu replied. "I mean... have a family." Mitsumi replied. Kazu scoffed at her. "Me? A family? Unlikely, my brother or Keito are more likely to have families than I am." Kazu said as Mitsumi placed her finger on his lip. "Shut up." She said as she leaned in to kiss him.
Years pass and now Kazu is 17. He has been with Mitsumi for three years now. Kazu has come to the point where he has nearly mastered genjutsu and the Sharingan. As well he has developed the ability of Jikūkan Idō (Space–Time Migration). He has taught his younger brother how to use the sharingan and he now has it at the Three tomoe level. Its been almost three years since Kazu last fought, and he has seen life without battle and he has enjoyed it. It was a week before Kazu was to leave for war but that was until one day an accident occured.
Keito, Kazu, and Mitsumi had all become good friends. But Keito had always been a third wheel since Kazu and Mitsumi had begun their relationship. Keito had always had a crush on Mitsumi and a very serious case of jealousy. Keito was on the point of stalker, but no one ever noticed, because they were in the same team. But one day he couldn't handle it anymore. He cornered Mitsumi one night and confessed to her. She declined after slapping him, but Keito wouldn't have it. He explained that if he couldn't have her, no one could. Keito then used his bugs to kill Mitsumi. His bugs devoured her completely leaving not even a trace. The next day Kazu arrived at Mitsumi's residence but her parents said she never came back last night and thought she was with Kazu. Naturally concerned, Kazu went to see his team mate. Keito was out in the forest. Keito played innocent, but Mitsumi had left a very noticeable bruise on Keito's face.
Kazu inquired as to what the bruise was from. Keito said a girl turned down his advances, and Kazu knew from there what had happened. He had known that Keito liked Mitsumi but not to this point. Kazu cracked. His eyes turned red with the sharingan and his rage could barely contain himself, he started to beat Keito, he beat him till Keito was a puddle of blood. Kazu yelled so loud that day that some say they heard his roar from inside the village. Kazu had felt the blood lust once again and this time is was not fueled by joy, but by anger. He had the blood of two men on his hands. Kazu discovered something that day. Death is the great equilibrium between humans. Kazu took off his cloths and put them on Keito. Using the Henge technique, he made him self appear as Keito and he rushed what now appeared as the bloodied corpse of Kazu back to the village. Taking him to the infirmary was obviously of no use.
'Keito' offered to go tell 'Kazu's' family what had happened, and they approved. Kazu went off back to his family's home and informed them about the 'death' of their son. Kazu's little brother broke down in tears, and Kazu saw as he looked up his eyes were glowing with the Mangekyou. Kazu offered to go investigate their dead son's room for hints as to what happened. There, Kazu changed cloths and packed his backpack and left home for good.
It has been seven years since the death of Kazu's beloved and seven years in which his bloodlust had returned back to its previous state. Kazu has relearned the joys of battle and learned that life is fragile, and the only way to live is through happiness, no matter what it may be or how it is achieve, life is only worth living when happy. The Shinobi Wars had ended. This had disappointed Kazu with his newly reawakened blood lust. So now, he is the second in command of a mysterious organization that will soon turn the world on its back.
