Zephyr sighed as he shut the door to the psychiatrist’s office behind him; another good session finished. Smiling lightly, he stretched his arms above his head and cracked his neck. He put his arms down and sighed again, running a hand through his green hair before turning and walking down the hallway. He had been in the hospital enough to know the layout like it was his own home. He waved to a few familiar faces as he passed and headed towards the exit. He had nothing to do today, but he didn’t feel like hanging around the hospital to pass the time. As he rounded the corner, he crashed right into a woman, knocking the both of them to the ground, and causing the papers she was carrying to get spread across the floor. Rubbing his head and groaning, Zephyr said, “Sorry, I should have been watching where I was going, here let me help you.” He gathered up the scattered papers and handed them to the woman as he actually looked right at her for the first time. He blinked a few times; she had very long, unkempt, red hair, red eyes, a gorgeous body, a wonderful face; to list all of her features that were pleasing to the eye would take forever. Zephyr had seen this woman around a few times, from a distance though, this was their first close up interaction. Zephyr shook his head and stood up, helping the woman to her feet as well. He smiled and said, “Again, sorry about that, I should have been more careful. Say, haven’t I seen you around here before? Ah! I’m sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. The name’s Richter Leon Zephyr, but you can just call me Zephyr for short. And you are…?” Zephyr extended a hand to the woman, to shake. He smiled and locked his bright green eyes with her dark red ones as he did. He wondered how he could have missed someone as wonderful as this when he had been here for so long. She wasn’t overly tall, she was just under a foot or so shorter than he was, but that was average height for a woman, he was rather tall at 6’4”.

Arie ran head first into yet another person for the third time this week, “Ahh I'm so sorry!” she squeaked feeling somewhat shaky from all the new transfers that had been moved to the hospital on such short notice, she was still trying her best to organize the oncoming emotions, “Sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” she squeaked again kneeling as he bent to pick up her papers, he was being kind enough to help her pick them up, “I can do this myself!” she protested taking the papers from him frantically starting to panic because the psychiatrist needed these rather urgently, “Oh dear I've messed them all up! Now what am I going to do” she thought starting to panic more before actually looking into his eyes and finding her heart skip a beat as the world seemed to stop for a moment, he was amazing to say the least, His hair was rather long for a man of the army, but it was to be expected of a patient for their hospital. She could tell by his body structure he was a man to be wary of as were all marines here at the hospital, but for some reason he was different from all those other men that usually hit on her from time to time, “T-thank you for the trouble” she said turning beat red as she realized she had been staring and taking the papers from him with a nod, he asked for her name and she was surprised, “ah, I- I am Leilani, but most people call me by my middle name A-Arie” she responded feeling kinda silly for being so flustered in front of this guy, not that she wasn't shy around most others, but this was usually because of the dramatic emotions they emitted at first, this guy however didn’t have any feelings of trauma or malice that wreaked his brain. “I-if you would excuse me I need to see the doctor, he wanted these papers...” she breathed suddenly finding herself somewhat breathless.

Zephyr watched as the woman scurried off to find the psychiatrist she spoke of. He stood there for a moment or two longer than necessary, even after she had rounded the corner of the hall. He smiled and turned, heading for the exit. Zephyr stepped out into the afternoon sun, or he would if it were actually sunny. For the past week, it had been raining almost 24/7, of course, Zephyr liked this sort of weather, it was good for his plants, and he enjoyed the cool weather. He didn’t have an umbrella with him so he simply walked in the rain, he didn’t live very far away, so it wasn’t a problem. He entered the bottom floor of his apartment building and headed for the elevator, he had to see to his plants before he went to his apartment. He stepped out of the elevator onto the roof, headed into his greenhouse and inhaled deeply, smelling the scent of his flowers and fruits and vegetables. Smiling, he started watering them, and just as he did, his phone rang; it was one of his friends, one of the soldiers he had known from his time at the hospital. He answered it and said, “Hey Zach! What’s up? No, no it went well! Good as ever. I ran into someone interesting as I was leaving. No, literally, knocked her over and everything. I think she’s an assistant of some sort, redhead, red eyes, gorgeous legs…” As the two conversed over the phone, Zephyr kept dealing with his plants. They continued to talk for a while, but Zephyr wasn’t really into it, he was thinking about the woman from before, Arie she said her name was. Zephyr could tell she was an Empath, but he could also tell she was no more of a danger to him and the patients at the hospital than a fly would be. She might actually be helping the patients there if she could use her ability well enough. He finished talking and hung up his phone, grabbing the basket he used to take his plants down to his apartment and picked a few of them. Sighing as he entered his apartment, he put the fruit and vegetables in the fridge and sat on his couch. He was going to ask his doctor about her when he went back the day after tomorrow.

Arie barely made it around the corner before she fell again and this time leaned against the wall, he was a shocker and something directly unexpected. Breathing lightly she tried not to overwhelm her emotions and calm herself down before she had a mental break down. Relax, it isn't like you haven't delt with something like him before... her heart had been racing for some reason and she was unsure why. Hastily she organized the papers to at least make things appear cleaner as she tried to calm herself , glancing around the side of the wall just in time to see the green haired man turn to leave, Was he watching for me? She thought to herself blushing red, Zephyr, he had called himself Zephyr Perhaps she could talk to the Psychiatrist about the man, he was a regular wasn't he? She smiled delighted at the thought of getting to know the marine better, Slowly she stood to her feet straightening her nurse pants and shirt before heading back down the hall to the doctor, “Sir, I have your paper work” she said opening the door and entering as the doctor glanced up at her from the other papers he was working on
“Oh yes Arie, thank you you can set them there please” he said gesturing to a spot on his desk and she set them down gently before pausing for a moment, “umm, sir, if I may ask, I know we all have the confidentiality agreement with the marines, and it isn't policy to ask questions about some if not all of the patients, but the young officer that was in here earlier... I um, wanted to know more about him...” she said shyly as she wrung her hands on the long sleeves of her under shirt slightly feeling silly about asking such a thing. The psychiatrist took off his glasses to look at Arie for several moments, she was an asset to his work, She may have been unaware of it, but he had known she was an empath after her first month working among the patients, “Arie... that young man was Zephyr, I... he is not as stable as he seems my dear” he said setting his pen down and watching her carefully. Arie blushed more, “Oh, okay then sir, ill um just get back to work then, sorry for the trouble” she said with a nod before turning back to the door.

The doctor sighed, as she left scratching his head as he watched the door close, if things were diffrent It would not be much of a problem if the soldier and his assistant ended up getting together, but in this things could be potencially fatal to both her and his career if things ended up getting out of hand. The doctor wondered if he should have told her more as he stared at the closed door, knowing the patients history even he was careful when the young man visited. The green haired retiree was still fairly unpredictable and there really was no telling what he might do if he confronted an empath. Standing he thought to go out and ask for Arie to come back so he might explain, but sat down after a moment remembering the young woman would not be working the next day the soldier came again, I shall inform her later, if she persists, he though as he sat down knowing he really needed to get to his paper work. Just the thought of loosing the main reason his office worked so well had put him on edge slightly, Empaths are good for the sick and injured, why cant the government see that. He thought with a sigh before getting back to work thinking it a shame that Arie had to hide her abilities so much.

Two days later, Zephyr returned to see his Psychiatrist, with a few questions on his mind. He entered the office with a slight smile on his face and said hello to his doctor. They talked for a little while about how Zephyr was doing and how he was coming along. Zephyr told him about a particularly good batch of vegetables from his garden, and then Zephyr asked the doctor. "So, Doc... That assistant you have, the redhead, Arie she said she was called. Can you tell me about her?" The doctor fell silent after that, thinking for a bit and then saying, "Zephyr, we talked about this. You know that I told you that you aren't ready for any emotional attachment yet... Besides, she isn't really your type. I suggest... you stay away from her. That's all I have to say on the matter." Zephyr frowned a bit; the doctor could be as tight lipped as if he had a zipper on his mouth sometimes. Zephyr knew he wouldn't get any further with the doctor, at least not today, so e dropped the subject and got on with his session. Once their time was up, Zephyr stood up and left, his mind filled with more questions than answers at this point. Sighing, he started walking down the hall, hoping he might run into her again today.

Walking up the hospital stairs to head towards the Psychiatrists office she found herself still feeling slightly uneasy thanks to the patients that remained there for their own good. breathing deeply she disliked having to come on her day off with all the still unsettling emotions that hovered about the place, Nothing to difficult, Sandra at the desk just needs these scan read outs and i can get back to my day she thought breathing deeply again separate the emotions she read from those that she might project, being normal was much harder than it seemed. opening the door she smiled ot the secretary as she walked up to the counter, "here are the files, sorry i couldn't get them yesterday, she said handing the young woman the files. “ah, Arie, thank you so much, sorry to ask this of you on your day off and all...” the secretary replied with an apologetic smile “it was nothing really I was having lunch with friends near that area, anyway, so a simple walk to the hospital was nothing,” she replied with her smile and watched as the Sandra turned to wave to a patient as he was leaving. She started to say more, but Arie was not listening as she watched the patient leaving, Green hair, military jacket, it was him! Zephyr, the man that she had incidentally run into the other day while at work. “not a problem Sandra, im sorry, but I have to go now, ill see you tomorrow?” she interrupted the small talk and did not wait for a reply before following him, I really shouldn't be doing this... she thought to herself remembering what the doctor had said about them being together, it wouldn't hurt to get to know him right? she thought following not too far behind as she wondered where he was going.

Zephyr smiled and waved to the familiar faces as he walked through the hospital, but none of the familiar faces were the one he wanted to see. He caught a glimpse behind him on a reflective surface; a flash of bright red hair, and he immediately turned around. There she was, behind him the whole time. Was she following him? The idea sprang up rather oddly, why would she be following him? He smiled brightly and waved, heading in her direction. She wasn't in her work clothes, so he assumed she had time to spare, considering their proximity to the exit, they might have even been going in the same direction. Smiling as he approached her, he spoke, "Hi there... Arie, right?" He smiled and caught a glimpse of his doctor walking down one of the connecting hallways. The doctor saw that Zephyr had approached Arie and gave him a look that would make a marine shiver. Zephyr looked back to Arie and said, "I was just leaving, would you like to accompany me?" Zephyr's speech was oddly polite for his profession, but Zephyr had always prided himself on being a gentleman above all else. He smiled, his emerald green eyes looking over her facial features, and locking with her deep red eyes."

Arie had followed the green haired marine for merely moments before she ended up colliding with another person, ”ah, im sorry” she said cursing her clumsiness again and bowing to the gentleman who she had ran into and moved to try and follow Zepher again, glancing about the crowd to try and find him before realizing he was walking to her. ”Hi there... Arie, right?” Arie flushed slightly when he remembered her name, ”Y-yes, I am Arie” she replied happily still blushing ”you were Zephyr right? No, I really dont mind I was just on my way out as well” she said with a smile not being able to meet his eyes for too long since she found him very wonderful to look at and naturally she was very shy. For a moment she sensed a slight uneasyness from him and turned to see what he had been looking at, but no one in the crowd seemed to catch her eye. ”Are you okay?” she asked confused, turning back to the young marine. She had already forgotten the psychiatrist's words about him the other day, having been day dreaming about the green haired man since she had left his office. But seeing him and actually talking to this young man like this made her remember and she wondered what the harm would be in simply talking to the marine.

Zephyr smiled and replied to her question, "Just fine, well then, shall we go?" Zephyr turned and started walking out of the hospital, with Arie right beside him. He squinted when they made it outside, the bright sunlight bothering his eyes until they readjusted. He stopped once they were outside and asked, "Do you have anywhere in particular you need to go? I have nothing planned, do you want to hang out? Grab something to eat maybe? Smiling still, Zephyr looked over at Arie, admiring her features; the sunlight made her look even prettier than the fluorescent lights inside the hospital. He didn't have any other plans for the day, so he wanted to spend the time getting to know this woman better. He realized he was staring and looked away for a bit, studying the skyline; there were only a few clouds in the sky, "My plants are gonna be happy about this weather." He said, almost absentmindedly, simply saying it just to say something. He wasn't a very big fan of bright and sunny days, but his plants did well during them, which meant he had a reason to be happy on sunny days.

Arie smiled and nodded following Zephyr outside and enjoying the warm sunshine as they exited the building. “i sure do love the sunlight, on the rare occasions we get some” she said closing her eyes and turning her face to the sky, taking a deep breath before turning to the marine. “there aren't many places I need to go today, I did want to do a little shopping, but that can wait for a bit, are you hungry?” she asked not noticing how much he stared at her, she was some what used to it though. “come I do know a good pizza place down the street we could walk to,” she said before turning to head in that general direction hoping Zephyr would follow. The place wasn't actually just a pizza parlor, but a family owned Italian restaurant that Arie liked to stay and enjoy the atmosphere during the heavy rain. Today was however rather beautiful so she figured they might be able to take an order to go and have dinner outside at the park across the way. Humming lightly anyone could tell she was very content. ”you have a garden? Here in the city? Oh I love flowers, I wish I could grow some at my place, sadly though I cant even make a bean plant grow” she replied laughing lightly as she noticed he was following her, “My ex used to tell me I had a brown thumb, could hardly cook too, he wasn't very supportive of me, im happy we are through though, do you have some one special in your life?” she asked doing most of the talking as was natural for her and she blushed slightly, “sorry if I talk to much, I tend to go on and on about things you probably have no interest in...” she sighed catching her hands behind her back as a black brown bag hung at her hip matching the blue attire she had tried on earlier that day. “I did have plans to eat with my friends today, but they all had to cancel for some reasons or others.” she added grateful Zephyr was going with her.
