Kiarei thought Theo looked better when he smiled, more his age and less intimidating in a way. She was glad that she seemed to be able to set his mind at ease, even if it was for a short period of time and mostly just to provide him tea, herbs, and shelter from the rain. Though she supposed that some people were easily pleased. Her father was like that, she remembered, always simply asking for a spot by the fire, warm food, hot tea, and his family. She wondered if, perhaps, she took more after his personality than her mother's, since she was a little bit more easily pleased, easier to make smile.
"Oh, no, I do most of my work early in the morning." she reassured the other witch, smiling. "You're not a bother at all."
That being said she took another sip of her tea and closed her eyes, breathing in the intermingling fragrances of the tea and the fresh smell of rain. It drummed lightly on her roof, the sound soothing and relaxing. There was no accompanying thunder or lightning and it was simply a nice, soothing, gentle rain, one that would most likely perk up her garden for certain. Briefly she wondered if the quaint life she had here would disappear should she become an Ars Lilium, but dismissed it for the time being. There was no use dwelling on things in the distant future.
"Oh, yes, most don't know. Usually mixing the two together is best, I've found." Kiarei mused, smiling; she enjoyed being able to share her knowledge. "Do you have trouble sleeping?"
She watched Theo reach out and touch one of her plants, smiling a little. Despite her initial impression of the man before her, it appeared that he could be quite gentle at times. She observed the plant for a moment at the question, tilting her head for a moment before he smiled and gave a small nod to herself; sometimes she had to think to remember since she often rotated what was inside and what was out.
"That's Lavender. It hasn't flowered yet, but it should soon." she mused, noting the tiny, closed buds. "I can't wait to make more Lavender tea."
She observed him for another moment before taking another sip of her tea, looking thoughtful. From the sound of it, it seemed that the rain was slowing, most likely due to it being such a gentle rain. It was very rare that the afternoon rains lasted very long in Clarus Arbor. Perhaps she would get lucky and Theo would stay a bit longer, despite the rain, but she didn't want to keep him if he was busy.
"Do you need herbs regularly?"

The steady drumming of rain was a sothing sound that lent to the illusion of being completely isolated from the world. It seemed like that here in the small cottage with Kia. It wasn't large or grand. In fact, it mostly contained the essentials for living and not much else. Save for the mutitude of plants that grew, blooming and offering their best under Kia's careful attentions. People might have said Theo was hard to please, but really, it wasn't that hard to make him smile. A little sugar and pleasant company was enough, though a healthy respect for his personal space helped greatly. Theo had never been one to kiss, touch or hug people. It unsettled him and made him feel awkward, seeing as he wasn't much for physical contact. His hands curled loosely around his mug, absorbing the comforting warmth from it.
His attention returned to Kia as she reassured him he wasn't bothering her. Even if he wasn't, he still didn't want to overstay his welcome. He would leave once the rain let up enough for him to walk back. "Interesting. Never would have thought of mixing the two together.." Theo murmured softly as he took another sip of the tea. "Define trouble sleeping." Theo smile wryly, his shoulders relaxing. Sure, he had trouble sleeping, but then again, he'd always had trouble sleeping. Shrugging slightly, he leaned back in the chair. "I don't sleep very much, if that's what you're asking, nor do I sleep well. Fits and bursts most of the time, and I wake up as tired as if I have't slept. If that's having trouble sleeping, then I suppose I do have it." He smiled mockingly, his mouth taking on a cynical curve that was very familiar. He began to wonder when did he start taking on such a cynical view of the world at large.
"Lavender's a pretty flower." Theo noted, sipping his tea again. The tiny, delicate purple blooms always caught his eye for whatever reason, even though he wasn't much for plants. The gentle patter of rain had eased into a steady drip that said the rain was almost gone. Perhaps another cup of tea before he left, unless he was bothering Kia. EIther way, he wasn't intending to stay very long, even though he would very much have liked to do so. "Personally I rarely use herbs." Theo answered her question, reaching over to lift the teapot and refill his cup. The amber liquid streamed from the spout as Theo poured. "Phil needs them more, and I only ever use a few, mostly for burns." He replaced the teapot carefully, settling back into his chair. "Witch hazel, aloe vera usually. I keep an aloe plant at home for emergencies, since well... Shall we just say that my magic's not exactly the safest kind." He said, a brief smile on his face before it disappeared, leaving an almost frown on his face.
"Fire's kinda volatile, so if I'm not careful, I get burned." He shrugged absently and sipped at his tea. Theo was no stranger to being burned. It had occurred even more times than he could remember. None of them were particularly serious, but he was well aware of how painful it could be.

Kiarei tilted her head a little when Theo responded, her ears perking and her crimson eyes resting on him as he spoke. She lifted her tea to her lips as she listened, mentally grimacing a little at how... Jaded he sounded for one of his age. Then again she supposed that she had absolutely no room to judge considering how young she was, especially for someone living on her own. Others seemed to simply age differently in their own way she supposed. She didn't seem to have the same problems when it came to sleep as Theo did but, she supposed, if she was to become a healer then she may develop sleeping problems.
"I can make you something to help if you would like." she offered tentatively, worrying her bottom lip and gently setting her cup down. "Sleep is important, after all."
Perhaps she was being a little invasive with her offers of assistance but she did always mean well. When it came to others who seemed to be having any form of difficulty she always felt this deep-rooted urge to help them. One day she supposed that the urge may eventually simmer and become less obvious or overbearing, but for now she wanted to do everything that she could to help others... Hopefully without offending or irritating them in the process.
"It is." Kia agreed, tilting her head a little. "Herbs seem to be rarely used in a lot of instances, really. It is a shame since they are so useful."
At Theo's mention of being burned her eyes widened a little and her hands tightened around the ceramic mug that her tea was contained within. She had to quickly suppress her urge to fret and request to see any injuries if he had any because, well, it was rude to do so. She believed that if this man actually wanted her assistance he would request it, otherwise it was not wanted or needed. However that didn't stop her from giving him a concerned look or shifting restlessly in her seat.
"Well... If you ever need balms for burns, I can make them." Kiarei offered hesitantly, her gaze falling to her tea. "After all, I am a healer before I am an herbalist."
