Most homes within Takigakure are made of wood, but that doesn't mean they are cheap. The houses have prospered into a literal rags-to-riches tale from the time they were destroyed to the time they were rebuilt.

Now abandoned, most homes are up for grabs by the newest residents of Takigakure. Both Taki shinobi and Fifth Dawn members reside here in homes identicle to the one above.
Just beyond the Village's Marketplace, is a nicely paved road that leads to these homes. The district is a mere two-minute walk away from the bath houses. This district was built with only two things in mind:

Luxery and Convenience... the Waterfall way.

Ryu-o woke up in his bed, dazed and groggy; he had not slept well last night, for some reason he could not sleep unless he was under the cover of a sheet, which was weird since it was hot in his room. he lay there, awake, for almost thirty minutes until he heard his stomach begging him to get up, annoyed at his stomach he reluctantly rolled off his bed onto the floor and started inching towards kitchen. Ryu-o had always known how to cook, due to his mother and father being chefs for a living; thankfully it paid the bills and taught Ryu-o a lot on all kinds of food, and what could be done with them.

Finally Ryu-o wanted to eat so he sprung from his kitchen floor and reached into the fridge, pulling out eggs, ham, bell peppers, broccoli, jalapeños and tortillas. he put a pan on the stove and poured olive oil on it while chopping up the tortillas and vegetables, soon he had a warm, hearty meal which he would enjoy

"honestly this is the best part of my day"

finally sitting down with his warm plate he poured himself a giant, gleaming glass of milk; he had wanted to grow more so he decided that drinking milk daily would boost his growth rate.

After Ryu-o ate his heart out he went into the bathroom to find out what was eating his feet, it'd been driving him bananas all morning. When he surveyed his feet, sure enough he found a splinter sandwiched in between his feet, cool as a cucumber he pulled it out with a pair of tweezers, thinking to himself "i must've gotten this from going on to the deck barefoot, oh well, guess that's the way the cookie crumbles" this would make Ryu-o peachy for the rest of his morning as he would go off to work for peanuts, as any academy student should.

So Ryu-o put on his regular clothes which consisted of cargo shorts a shirt and a vest and he went off into town to find other students in training.

Shinji entered the housing district for the first time. Apparently this is where he would be living from now on. Every house seemed to look identical, which begged the question "Which one is mine?!"

Shinji walked along the outside of each house, peering through to see if anyone had set up in any of them. Some of the houses were fully furnished, but seemed as though they had no one actually living in them. This wasn't too surprising of course, hardly anyone had returned to the village. It was time for Shinji to get dibs on a nice one!

Shinji stopped at a nice looking house. It was fully furnished, fairly clean and looked as though it had been kept in pristine condition. Shinji pushed down on the handle of the door. The handle clicked, but the door didn't seem to open. Shinji examined the door and noticed that the door had quite a basic lock. He could either attempt to pick the lock or possibly barge the door down. This is a nice door, it might be best not to break it.

DC = 12 to unlock front door.
Roll 1d20 ((20)) + dexterity ((1)) = 21

The lock clicked and the door swung open. Shinji then made a mental note to ask Nakamura for a key to his house. He took a step inside and slumped down onto his sofa.

Shinji’s stomach gave another loud rumble. He had spent ages ignoring it, but it was probably a good idea to make himself some provisions for the next few weeks. With a groan Shinji hopped to his feet and walked into his kitchen. He was used to cooking, he had always made meals for his mum when she was to weak to get out of bed. He needed high energy meals to keep him going through his training.

Mission: Make 10 loaves of yummy bread!

Shinji grabbed a large bowl of flour out of the cupboard. He then filled a large jug with hot water and rooted around his refrigerator for some margarine. Shinji threw the ingredients into the bowl and began to mix the ingredients together. He then began to kneed the bread, running his fingers into the mixture, making sure none of it stuck to the sides. He gave the dough a toss into the air and caught it in his hands. It felt good to finally do something with his hands, the dough squeezed satisfyingly through Shinji’s fingers. Finally he Slammed the bread onto a baking tray and put it in the oven

One loaf would of course not be enough. Grabbed another hand-full of flower and placed it carefully into the mixing bowl. Making bread had always been a hobby of his. It was so easy to relieve yourself of stress as you pound dough into it’s desired shape. Shinji rubbed his hands with excitement and threw the dough into the air. The dough soared through the sky and Shinji quickly made a grab for it. The dough bounced off the tips of his fingers and landed on the floor with a loud splat. Shinji slapped a flour covered hand across his face and put the dough in the bin.

“Baking bread, baking bread, people say that I’m outta my head. But the smell of dough is all I’ll show, ‘cause it is the funnest thing I’ll ever know!” Shinji had begun his improvised singing which indicated that he was having a really good time. He continued to pound the dough together, feeling all the stress and anxiety leaving his body. The dough was becoming dry, so Shinji decided to add a small amount of warm water to stop it from going crumbly. “I love baking, baking’s my thing, that is why I’ve just gotta sing. Who needs worries, troubles or dread, when you can be at home making some bread!” Shinji tossed the dough into the air and caught it, feeling it slip in his fingers a little bit. He dropped the dough onto yet another baking tray and placed it in the oven.

There was flour all over the kitchen and all over the surrounding surfaces, but Shinji didn’t care, he was having too good a time. His little songs had now included a small dance routine which involved him skipping around his kitchen with the bowl under his arm. “Bread is just so yummy, it’ll always fill my tummy.” Shinji sang, giving the dough a firm mix. With a thump, he threw the dough onto the counter and began to knead it. Shinji soon found his thuds becoming somewhat rhythmical Oh my god, I can pretend to play the drums! With his new rhythmical pounding of the dough. Shinji grabbed the freshly pounded dough and took it towards the baking tray. Suddenly his foot slipped on a stray spatula, causing him to fall to the floor. The dough splattered across his face.

Shinji started to contemplate whether Taki had an accomplished baker. Perhaps he could work part time for some extra money. People did always need bread and making it was obviously just as important as carrying out difficult missions. Shinji pounded away at the dough. Flour had got caught underneath his fingernails and his hands were beginning to feel extremely dry. He had already messed up two loaves, he wasn’t going to make a habit of it. He grabbed the cup of warm water and glazed it over the slightly dry dough. He carefully kneaded it all in to itself and then started to shape it. Shinji placed the dough onto the baking tray and slid it into the oven.

“Tell me where the scroll is kept!” Skinji yelled, pounding his fist into the dough “Your silence won’t make things any easier for you!” Shinji had often considered what life would be like as a more experienced ninja. As he jokingly pretended to beat the living snot out of an enemy, he began to worry about the things he might be made to do. Yes, he would have to follow orders, but would they always be the right things to do. He shook his head quickly and continued to pound the dough into shape. He placed the dough onto a baking tray and placed it in the oven.

Shinji reached into the fridge and found a bottle of liquid that he wasn’t familiar with. Assuming it was milk, Shinji took a huge gulp. He gagged as the bitter liquid went down. Little did he know, but Shinji had had his first taste of Sake. He soon felt himself become slightly less focused and could hear a loud ringing in his ears. Regardless of this, he pressed on and continued to pound away at the dough. Shinji hiccupped slightly and watched as the dough slipped from his fingers onto the flour strewn floor. "Crap"

Shinji shook his head violently. His vision had now become slightly obscured and he could feel himself losing his balance. He pulled up a chair and sat in front of the counter, smacking the dough between his fingers. The warmth of the dough began to relax him and he felt his eyes getting heavier. No! Wake up! Shinji opened his eyes quickly and gave his head another shake. He focused on his hands and their movements, twisted and pushing the dough into itself. Suddenly his face splattered into the dough. He lay there for about 20 minutes. Needless to say, the dough was now useless.

“I like making bread even when I don’t know what I’m saying because my eyes feel really-”
Shinji trailed off, he was now uttering complete nonsense to himself. He giggled as he slapped his hand onto the dough, feeling a warmth gathering in his face. “The bread will be yummy because it was made with the love of mummy.” Shinji stopped suddenly, he had just noticed that tears were trickling down his cheek. He closed his eyes tightly and continued to pound at the dough. With a yawn, he placed the bread onto a tray and placed it in the oven.

I think I should have a lie down. Shinji left the kitchen and slumped face-first onto his sofa.

Shinji rolled off the sofa, his head pounding against the front of his skull. With a groan he crawled along the floor towards the kitchen. With a great deal of effort he pulled himself to his feet and grabbed a large glass of water. After downing three consecutive glasses of water, he reached over to the bag of flour and got straight back to work. “I love bread” Shinji sang in a croaky voice “Gotta love my bread, even when I’ve been knocked on the head.” He kneaded the dough firmly with his hands, struggling to keep his eyes open. His hands slipped suddenly, knocking the dough into a large bowl of washing up. As no one would want to eat bread that tasted like Fairy liquid, he decided to throw the dough in the trash.

Shinji reached over to the bottle of Sake and looked at it with disgust. He undid the cap and slowly drained it down the sink. He wasn’t going anywhere near anything like that ever again. He grabbed a handful of dough and began kneading once again. His hands were now coated with a fine layer of dry dough and his hair was covered with flour. He had not yet seen his own reflection, but if he did he would have been mortified. He pressed his knuckles into the dough and carefully began to move it around his fingers. Carefully, he placed the dough on a baking tray and placed it in the oven.

Shinji hiccupped suddenly and felt a small amount of acid reflux, which he managed to suppress. He felt terrible, no ninja injury could ever live up to the discomfort he was feeling right now. He pressed on, grabbing more dough and slapping it onto the counter. “Bread is great, bread is fine. I’ll have some of yours you’ll have some of mine” Shinji whispered, slapping at the dough. He really didn’t have the energy or the voice to keep up his improvised lyrics, but he felt he should at least make the effort. The song had obviously helped him in some way, as the dough came out in perfect condition.

His headache was beginning to lift, but Shinji still felt a sickly sensation in his stomach. He contemplated hopping into the Silver Spring and lying at the bottom until the end of time itself. That seemed like a really appealing idea at the time. He stretched some more dough out in front of him, testing the consistency and strength of it. He folded the dough back in on itself and placed it back down on the counter. He gave the dough one last knead and threw it up in the air. He caught it between his fingers and then slapped it onto a baking tray.

Shinji’s arms were now shaking, he had never tried to cook so much in one go before. He took a deep breath and continued to knead the dough. He decided to grab a rolling pin from the side to give his hands a rest for a moment. Carefully he pushed the rolling pin over the dough, flattening it out across the counter. Carefully, he reached underneath it and began folding the sides into the middle. His hard work and concentration had obviously paid off as the dough was placed perfectly on the baking tray. He had almost met his quota, he only had one more loaf to go!

Shinji slapped a dough covered hand across his face. His body was now covered in flour and a trail of white footprints were traced all across his house. He had no idea who was going to clean it all up, but it sure as hell wasn’t going to be him! He grabbed another handful of dough and slapped it onto the counter. He had been slightly clumsy in the past, his bin was filled with dough that will never follow it’s dream of becoming bread. He only had to make this one last loaf and he would be done for the day. He grabbed the dough firmly and began moving it around the counter. With a great amount of concentration he pushed his fingers into the centre, blending the dough into itself. He carefully sprinkled flour over the top of it, which stopped the bread from sticking to the counter. "Don't mess this up now Shinji!" Shinji told himself.

Shinji stretched the dough out into his hands and could only watch in horror as the middle of it dropped away onto the floor. Perhaps he had used too much flour, or maybe his kneading skills were not up to scratch. Either way, this dough was now useless.

Shinji had failed yet again, obviously he was having an off day. But he was so close, he wasn’t going to allow himself to give up now. He grabbed a large handful of dough and began kneading it into the counter. His hands were beginning to cramp up and were now covered in solidified dough. He grabbed the rolling-pin and ran it along the dough, flattening along the counter. He began lifting the corners into the middle, before pressing his fists into it. Finally he lifted it and placed it onto a baking tray. Shinji carried the tray over to the oven. Suddenly his foot slid on a stick of butter. He fell to the floor, the tray crashing down on his head. "Owwwwwww" Shinji moaned

“Whyyyyy…” Shinji moaned, crawling to his feet. His kitchen now looked like some sort of bread based bomb had obliterated all in its path. Shinji staggered over to the counter and grabbed another handful of dough. He began to knead firmly, feeling his knuckles aching slightly. He gave it a large stretch and threw it into the air. He grabbed the freefalling dough and slammed it back down on the counter. Suddenly a giant Sparrow-Hawk appeared in front of his window. Driven by bread-based fury, the bird grabbed hold of dough and took off with it.

"No!" Shinji yelled, lunging at the fleeing bird. But it was too late, the bird had flown away.

Shinji let out a long, resigned sigh. He ran a hand through his hair, brushing his fringe out of his eyes. He took a deep breath and grabbed another handful of dough. He would have to get this right soon, he was beginning to run low. He placed the dough onto the counter and began his little song again “Bloody bird, flew away, why did this have to happen today? I’m just making bread, it’s no big deal, yet off with my bread you did…steal” Shinji stopped, that rhyming was terrible, he was far too tired for this. He stretched the dough out and sprinkled flour over the centre and then proceeded to fold it inwards.

After leaving the bread to rise, Shinji opened the oven to remove ten loaves of bread.

Shinji sat on his flour coated sofa. He had been sat there for a while, simply staring at the wall. He needed to do something productive, it was time for some serious training. He walked over to his front door and opened it. He still didn't have a key to get back in I really need to talk to Nakamura about that.

Shinji closed the door behind him and took a deep breath. It felt nice to breathe air that didn't smell of burnt bread.

JOUNIN
One night of the hunter, one day I will get revenge. One day it will all just end.

Chilly air seeped through Felix's lungs as he breathed deeply. The moon and stars of the night above were heavily accentuated to his eyes, and from his perch on the rooftop he could see even the smallest of details. Not as if his vision was increased... but rather, his sight was blurred and more detailed at the same time. He could track the flying of a micro sized insect across the street with his vision... as if it were moving in slow motion.
Felix released his breath with a puff, the sigh escaping his lungs as a refreshment of respite... after gasping for air for the past couple of seeming hours his system was finally beginning to calm down. He could still hear the sounds of nature all about him with acute clarity though, all of his senses on literal edge, like that of a wild animal. Coherent thought was just making its way into his mind at these slow realizations, instinct was seeping away as if a serpent that had been tangled about his mind, slowly sliding back down his spine.
The claws that had dominated his hands were now gone... that had been terrible, literally excruciating.. feeling his veins ripple and pulse so powerfully and watching the bestial forms slowly writhe back into his own hands and arms... feeling the pressure build up and disperse back into his system... feeling that same blood literally flowing through his heartbeat not moments after.
Another sudden chilly burst of wind whipped through the alleyway beside the house on which he was perched, and Felix reached up... clutching the dark robe tighter about himself. The robe of made of thick weave, seeming sturdy enough to brave any element and deny any wetness from penetrating it... though at the same time it was rather warm and comfortable on the inside... some sort of sew in perhaps... though, now that he realized it, it was furry up by the hood.. unsure of what kind of fur it was Felix took a closer inspection, stroking it softly with the backside of his hand for a moment. In the end Felix did not know much about animals or fur, but this seemed thick and durable enough to be bear fur... black bear on the inside of the robe and toward the hood it had graying patches... it was rather comfortable and quite warm. Right now he was actually wearing it as a cloak too. For the Robe was designed in a certain way to be worn as such, a large zipper spanning the length of it from collar to the bottom, near where a person would walk.. this zipper could be zipped up to the collar in order to complete the robe, there were also clasps spanned in various increments down the length to support the zipper, but Felix realized he was merely clutching it about himself as a cloak for now... and he liked this.
Felix pondered that it must have been very valuable to the person who owned it... masterly crafted for sure.. while the interior of the robe was of warm fur, the exterior was of a hardened type of leather. So in the heat, one could merely lower the hood for a cooler approach, as the inside of the robe was merely jacket like... however, in the cold, one could raise the hood for the warmth of the bear fur... and zipped up at that for a sealed coat.
This was an enviable item indeed for an orphan of the war. Felix felt almost ashamed that he had taken such a valuable item, yet, there was no one around to claim it.. as such, it was now his own.
Twin chains of silver hung from both sides of the collar, accouterments to the hood of the robe, and the clasp of the cloak in one... an ingenious and flashy design. Felix reached up, clasping it smoothly with his hand... which felt soft now, his skin returning to a normal temperature slowly in the chilly air of Takigakure.
Felix steadied himself and stood up from his crouched position, the moonlight of the area outlining a faint cloaked shadow across the rooftop for him... the hem of his robe flapping out into the wind that rushed across the area just a little.. weighted down by the heavier material of the item.
Slowly his eyes were adjusting back to normal properties... and his mind was catching up... his own now. If it could truly be called that. Felix felt more mature than he had been before... well... not more mature perhaps. He felt 'older'...
From his lone post, Felix surveyed the lined out rooftops of other various Takigakure mansions about his position. It was all so quiet and nature... enough to be a magical scene displayed for his night... enough to be a soothing sound to his intensified ears.
Felix crossed his arms.. enjoying the chill as it swept through his cloak... it felt good tonight.

JOUNIN-CAPTAIN
One night of the hunter, one day I will get revenge. One day it will all just end.

Suddenly, something was wrong. Wrong not in the sense of the vision he could see, but in the nature of life itself. It was a tingle that traced down his very spine and a pressure that simply ceased. A pressure of protection, a wall that was no longer in existence... not only that but all sounds and smells in the village simply vanished. Naka was gone. It was obvious and he knew it. The chill to the very night air that he had just been enjoying was simply vanished, and in its wake a ripple like tide of wind literally rushed through the valley of Takigakure, wiping over everything in a warm bath that had long been non-existant.
Glancing about curiously, and somewhat worriedly, Felix turned about, dropping the thirty foot distance from the rooftop to the ground below. He hit it solidly, not rolling, but legs bending powerfully as pistons to absorb the shock... a minor thing to his enhanced and trained muscles, though the power was unfamiliar still.
...I am truly alone now.
He knew it. It was the first thought that crossed his mind. Simple and precise. Travis was gone... asleep for who knew how long, perhaps dead. And now Naka was gone... the one person who sought to 'try' and understand him while he was with her, even if her attempts were cold and absent in a way. Felix had grasped at those as if he were trying to find his lost parents... perhaps fill that hole.
He now wished he were back home.
The wind swept through the alleyway from the underwater caverns as he walked in that direction, whipping his cloak powerfully. Felix had always enjoyed the warm more than the cold, but he did not want it this way.
All the same, he felt a duty and responsibility left in that void from her. He must carry on.
