Don't worry about steriotypical crap like band is stupid because it's not and you'll make a ton of friends through band!

Also, don't goof of during practice and go to lessons if they are offered.

1) Don't be a know-it-all.

2) Always wear a belt. It sounds strange, yes, but trust me--there's a time where you'll be grateful you're wearing them.
