Note: I realize that these characters' colourful history and particular personality descriptions may make them come off a little bit Mary-Sue-ish. I promise, they won't be. 3nodding

Name: Iarodan - will be shortened to I'dan if he Impresses

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Sexual Preference: Heterosexual

Craft/Hall/Rank: n/a

Physical Description: Iarodan is a little bit short, standing around 5'5". He is muscular, but slender, with a heart-shaped face and sharp features. His hair is dark brown and cropped short in no particular style, so that it looks a little bit mussed and flyaway most of the time. His eyes, too, are brown, with a green ring around the pupil. Everything about him is both petite and long; he is narrow of body, long of leg and arm, and long of neck. He wears brown trousers and boots, a cream coloured long sleeve shirt, and a brown wherhide vest, and can often be seen sporting a mischievous grin.

Personality: Iarodan likes to cause mischief, and often winds up dragging his twin into trouble with him, along with anyone else he decides to call his friend. He is friendly and gregarious, and difficult to put off or insult. If he does get insulted, he is more likely to play a prank at a later date than to retaliate immediately. He has a somewhat slapstick sense of humour, though if anyone gets seriously hurt, he's one of the first ones offering to help. As a sixteen year old boy, he is ruled by his hormones to a degree, though his sister can usually keep him in check.

To Iarodan, it is assumed that he and his sister will always be together, like two halves of a whole. Though he appears to often tell his sister what to think, he values her input like no one else's, and would defend her quite literally to the death. He is very selective with his affections, and very few people outside of his sister have ever found themselves a secure foothold in them, but anyone who has will have his loyalty for the rest of their lives. He is not the most honest of people, though he is not particularly dishonest, either: rather, he is likely to do and say what he must to make a prank work, and otherwise, he keeps his own council unless angry or especially moved to interfere in others' lives.

History: Iarodan was born to Iasa and Manarodan, a mid-ranked couple living at Keroon Hold, sometime around midnight shortly after Turnover, immediately before his sister, Iamana. As long as Iarodan can remember, he's dreamed of being a dragonrider. Having heard stories of eligible youngsters being kidnapped to Impress, he fantasized about this happening to him - and, of course, his sister.

Like most hold boys, he grew up farming and fishing, and occasionally stealing runners from the hold stables with the other boys and having races across the plains. No matter what he did, though, he was never without Iamana close behind, doing whatever he did right along with him. That is, up until they hit puberty. Around the age of twelve, Iarodan and his sister were set to different tasks, and Iarodan's took him outside, away from the hold. With the boys he'd caused mischief with in his childhood, he felled trees, farmed, and fished until his back was burnt from the sun and his face peeling from the wind. Though he missed his sister, he enjoyed the work, and excelled at it.

It was not long thereafter that he stumbled upon his sister's sexuality: indeed, it was just as she was discovering it herself. He unintentionally walked in on his sister kissing another girl. He found himself suddenly unsure, for a myriad of reasons - not least, that he had not yet himself even considered his own sexuality, or that she was kissing a girl he hardly knew, suggesting that Iamana was moving away from him emotionally. He fled the scene. It was not much later, though, that Iamana caught up with him. They had a frank conversation, wherein she explained her discovery to him, and that it was a very recent discovery, and as well that the girl in question meant nothing to her. Their relationship strengthened after that, and Iarodan swore that he would see her free to do as she desired - a promise he keeps to this day.

Just after they Turned sixteen, Iasa and Manarodan presented Iamana with the man they had selected for her. Angry because she could not make her own choice, Iamana fought with them over it, eventually declaring her preference for young women. In retaliation, they punished her and locked her in her room.

Remembering his promise, Iarodan gathered some supplies together over the course of the next few days, secreting them in favored childhood hiding-places, some in the stables, some elsewhere. One night, he gathered all the things together and bundled them onto Dragon, his runnerbeast. He broke in to Iamana's room and was shocked to find her with her hair cut short. She made clear her intention to be a boy, and so they took some clothes for her from Iarodan's room next door, dressed her, and left. No one at the Hold has heard from them since, and it is assumed they perished in the Threadfall that occurred shortly thereafter.

Reality bore out differently for Iamana and Iarodan, however, and they got very lucky: knowing they needed shelter, Iamana kept her eyes peeled for a well-hidden cave that could serve as shelter, and after only a day of hard riding, they found one. They stayed there for a few days and, shortly thereafter, watched in horror from the entrance as Thread fell around them and devoured the trees that hid their cave.

Suddenly having lost their ability to hide and to find food, as all the plant and animal life in the area was more or less totally denuded, Iamana and Iarodan began to panic. Luckily, a dragon surveying the damage after the Fall picked up on their emotions and he and his rider landed. Rather than telling the rider the truth, Iamana introduced herself to him as Iaman. Iarodan rode his runnerbeast, Dragon, to the Weyr, and Iamana, or Iaman, rode adragonback.

Pets: A runnerbeast named Dragon. He's a chestnut brown stallion with a white stripe down his nose, white on his stomach and lower legs, and a blond mane and tail.

Notes: Iarodan's special skill is jumping his runnerbeast - a pursuit he'll likely have to give up now.

Name: Luth

Color: Bronze

Size: 30 dragonfeet

Personality: Naive, innocent, and rather silly at times, this bronze seems like he'd be better suited to a different coloring. Especially according to color stereotypes within the Weyr. This bronze seems to have a certain reluctance to play the hero in most everything. In fact, he seems to have an air of having greatness forced upon him. Despite his lack of ambition, people (and dragons) tend to believe in him, and this helps motivate him.

Luth may become a wonderful wingleader--eventually. With reassurance from friends--and his rider, of course, he may rise up in ranks. He seems to have a fear of failure; especially when it comes to his friends. Fiercely loyal, to the point of it almost being a flaw, Luth will do (just about) anything to protect his friends.

This bronze doesn't do well with authority, especially when he feels he can do something. He has orders from his wingleader to stay put? Ha. Luth's not staying put, he's going and doing something about that threat--whatever it may be. This dragon, as stated before, has the air of someone who's had greatness thrust upon them, but his rider may find--and those who know Luth may find--that it suits the bronze. He disregards authority (except his own), he takes matters into his own hands, and he has a strong desire for all things right.

Luth has trouble accepting the truth. He has trouble trusting others unless he sees proof of it. He may have troule believing in his own abilities as a weyrling. Is Iarodan sure he won't fall?

Mind voice: Depending on his mood, Luth voice varies.

Name and inspiration: Luke Skywalker
