I love you so much I miss you every moment you're gone . . .

My parents sent me $250 for spending money while I was in Michigan.
I was planning on buying a Father's Day present for my dad along with a couple gifts to give to a few of my friends when I got back to Kentucky.
and maybe a thing or two for myself. And the rest would go to food or anything else that I would need.
But, Abi's mom keeps treating me like I'm five or something. She won't give me a single penny of my own money no matter what it's for and she insists that she keep it with her so that it doesn't get lost or wasted.
I've taken financial classes all through school and I know what's a waste of money. I'm usually sent to go shopping with my mom so that she doesn't buy anything except what she needs. I think I would know at least a little about what to do with my money.
Even if I was going to waste it, I think she should still let me keep tabs on my own money because it's mine, not hers and I'm not even her child.

What do you think?

Well, what I would do is just let her know in the most respectful way that you aren't her child and that you can handle your own money. It's nice that she wants to help so much, but it sounds like you should be fine on your own. smile That's just what I think though.

How did she end up with your money in the first place? I agree with Tobi though, if you sit down and discuss it respectfully with her she might listen.

Well the other day, we were going to go to the mall and of course that sounded like the perfect oppertunity for gift shopping since the mall here has about twenty stores that my mall doesn't have. I asked her for my money and I told her that I would feel more comfortable if I kept a hold of my own things. She just kinda' blew me off and gave me like fifteen bucks.
She treats her kids even worse . . . I shouldn't be surprised that she's so controlling but, as someone who hates to be controlled, it pisses me off. I'm buying a decent father's day present if I have to sneak in her room and take it while she's asleep.

Oh, she has it because my parents sent it through a transfer after I had already left. I don't have my own bank account so it was sent to her and she just kinda kept it after going to the bank. . .

I hate you so much that I can't wait till our next fight because I love to hurt you

That's terrible. Would you be able to call your parents and ask them to have her give it to you?
