Hi! This is Super Sailor Magellan. Meet Sailor Magellan! Say hi, Magellan. Magellan is sick and tired of getting her a** handed to her all the time. After nearly dying multiple times, she is finally getting it through her stubborn head that she is not exactly built for combat. Powder as a sphere, man, who knew? Anyway, Magellan has finally reached a point where she's realized that she has to change her plan of attack if she wants to be effective against the Negaverse. Now, she's not all useful against Negaverse agents. Sure, she can create a screen of powder or a handy sphere of powder and those are great escape tactics, but when it comes to combat against them, she's mostly got her fists and her feet. However! She can do some substantial damage to youma. In fact, all of her significant victories have been against youma. So Magellan is now going to ignore the Negaverse agents. Yep, she's done with them. Her targets, from this point onward, are going to be the dark creatures that the Negaverse employs to do their dirty work. At the moment, she knows just about as much as the next senshi about them -- but she's going to change that. Slowly, sure, but she's going to start collecting data on them. She's going to compile information and she's going to wage her war against the youma. It's where she's useful, where she'll be effective, and she'll feel like she's really accomplishing something. Of course she can't do this alone! Magellan will try, because she's Magellan, and she's kind of egotistical and headstrong and let's face it, a little dumb. Now that you know a tiny bit about Magellan and where she's coming from, read on if you're interested in becoming part of the plot!

There are several places in Magellan's plot for characters of all walks, but especially civilians, to get involved! Read on to see if there's one for you.
NEGAS
Magellan is going to start patrolling specifically for youma. In fact, if she sees a Negaverse agent, she's going to fill the area with powder and get her a** out of there! However, I'd still love for her to run into Negas and gain a reputation as the senshi that cuts and runs. Darn that senshi, always getting away and never sticking around for a fight! (Doesn't mean she won't sass you. Just means she's going to run.) So if you want to get some regular RPs in where your Nega is out patrolling and they come across a beribboned senshi that'd sooner flip them the bird and disappear than not, please volunteer!
Of course she'll need encounters with youma. If you want to play a youma, awesome! She wants to pound your face in, slowly, so that she can gather data. (Most of the information that she gathers will be meted out slowly, and staff is going to have a Youma Info Thread up soon for us to reference! Magellan is NOT going to be able to learn much very fast, so I'll need a lot of encounters with youma.) For this portion, I'd like her to encounter youma with a lot of civilians. Maybe you're being chased down by the youma and she ducks in to save you. Awesome! Maybe you've got a baseball bat and you're trying to brain the thing that cornered you. Even more awesome! Magellan will yell at you for being stupid, but she'll still save your butt.
SENSHI / KNIGHTS
Of course Magellan is going to run into others while she patrols! She's more of a support senshi than anything, so she's going to need strong allies while she gathers information and attempts to make a difference on the streets of Destiny City. If you have a senshi or a knight that wants to contribute to her efforts, she'd be more than happy to join forces! She's also going to need to do extensive networking, because two heads are better than one and five heads are better than two!
CIVILIANS
If there are civilians out there who are setting up a neighborhood watch sort of thing, I'd love for Magellan to meet them. She'd think they were ridiculous, in way over their head, and asking for trouble, and she'd tell them so. Still, her mission is to protect and serve, so if she runs into a couple of civilians more than once and realizes her warnings aren't stopping anyone from actually being chased down by youma... she's going to have to rethink her strategy. And she'll decide that knowledge is better than ignorance! So Magellan, without revealing her civilian identity to the other civilians, will take what she's learned and impart her knowledge to civilians that she meets on her patrols, hoping to arm them so that they can defend themselves -- she will never encourage them to go out and try to hunt down youma and kill them. Why?
Because civilians are only about half as effective against youma as senshi! And they could really get hurt! Still, Destiny City is a scary-a** place sometimes, and letting people run around like lambs for the slaughter isn't really Magellan's style. As her little instruction sessions begin to gain momentum, she'll realize there are a lot of everyday civilians who don't know the first thing about where to hit a youma and how hard, so she'll form a little group that's aimed at educating civilians in the hopes that less of them will die at the hands of the Negaverse's evil entities. Cool, right?
STILL INTERESTED?
This will be a fairly slow process, but my ultimate goal for Magellan's plot is as follows:
She will be the organizer/leader of a group that consists of herself, any powered individuals that she runs into who volunteer their strength/knowledge to the cause, and however many civilians -- who are all bent on gaining information, compiling it, and learning how to effective combat youma.
Magellan will want to leave the fighting portion to the powered individuals, but she (and any other powered individuals who are also instructors) will teach the civilians the basics of defense against youma. This will consist of learning to distinguish between the types and know which ones are more dangerous than others, where to hit them and how hard, and some contact numbers if they ever find they're in a bind. Magellan will not have all of this info on hand in the beginning. It'll be a learning process, and there are going to be ******** and trials and error, and people are going to get hurt. Hopefully, this group will become tight-knit and close, and learn to trust and depend on each other. Lasting bonds! Friendship! Shared near-death experiences!
Still interested? That's awesome.

While this is going to start out small, as a rag-tag sort of group, my hope is for it to eventually grow to become a tightly-knit group of people who work together like a well-oiled machine! There are a few roles that need to be played in order for that to work.
Leader: The person at the helm of it all. This person will organize meetings, touch base with people, and try to keep everything organized. Basically, the leader's job is to be the glue and play diplomat.
Right-Hand Man: But no leader is perfect, and no leader can be everything to everyone at once. So of course there's a right-hand man. Essentially a leader in their own right, they perform all the duties of the leader alongside the leader, helping to manage information and keep tabs on people to make sure everyone stays as safe as possible. This position will be vital the bigger the group gets.
Powered Characters: Senshi and knights! These people will be the muscles and brawns of the group. Posing as civilians to attract youma and gather data about them is going to be a primary task, though Magellan is going to instruct them to do so in rotating pairs so that any Negas who happen to be spying won't figure out their game! The idea will be for a powered character to play bait as a civilian, and once the youma is drawn out to battle, the other powered character (who has been shadowing the first all along!) will arrive triumphantly on the scene and defeat the youma. The first is taking notes, of course, by any means -- video tape, notebook, staring avidly from a safe place -- and will take all the information they've gathered to the next team meeting to see what can be made useful from it.
Civilians: Civilians are also welcome to play bait! This will be discouraged by Magellan in general, as if s**t goes down civilians will be in much greater danger than a powered character would be, but this can be done wittingly or not! Civilians will be taught the basics of self-defense 101 as well as how to fight youma, but are reminded that they are not as strong as powered characters and will not be as effective, so their primary objective would not be to battle but to take in as much information as they safely could.
An important thing to remember is that the powered characters will not be revealing their civilian identities to civilians. Ever. When meetings take place, they'll be henshined, and for patrols and rescues, they'll be henshined! Powered characters are welcome to share their identities amongst each other, but civilians are not allowed to be privy to that kind of information. Magellan is paranoid, so she won't exactly be encouraging everyone to exchange personal cell phone numbers and rub elbows in their civilian lives on a regular basis, anyhow.
When civilians do engage youma, they are not allowed weapons like guns. We're talking baseball bats, golf clubs, a sign propped up outside of a store -- whatever's handy at the time. If they know they're going out as bait with a powered character, it might be a good idea to have their powered buddy carry something to toss them if they need to defend themselves, but I'd like to emphasize this plot is not for militarizing civilians. They will be a very important part of it, and a tremendously important part of information gathering, but Magellan is not training them like soldiers. She is not making an army. She's going to teach them self-defense and give the civilians who want to feel useful a way to feel useful.
Because she knows what it's like to feel powerless and useless, and knowledge is power!

How to get involved! This plot will be open to anyone who has an interest in it! It's going to be a huge undertaking, especially for one long senshi, so the more the merrier! They're going to have their ups and downs, but if the team grows and they learn to work together properly, hopefully the senshi will be able to organize a good amount of data on youma in the months to come! You'll need to do an RP with one of the leader-figures. At the moment, that's just going to be Magellan, because she hasn't had the idea to make this a group effort yet! She's attempting to undertake it all by herself. So the first few RPs will be much more casual and more of individual alliances than anything. If your civilian is cornered by a youma, Magellan can rescue them and read them the riot act! And get to know them a bit. If your senshi is out patrolling, Magellan can run into them and grill them for info! And likely suggest they work together, if your senshi doesn't have another team alliance already. This will be how she starts building ranks, initially. If you've got a nega who's looking for some encounters with senshi, Magellan is your girl! As the group gets bigger and starts to become a more cohesive team, Magellan and her second-in-command will start organizing team meetings and a phone tree. In the first stages, though, you can go ahead and post to this thread, suggest what role you'd like your character to play, and we'll begin to work it out and start some RPs!

And feel free to begin posting! Ask questions, volunteer for plots, what-have-you! I'd love to hear from people and get things rolling.
I am very busy at the moment, so I am only going to take on 1-3 RPs at a time. This is so that I don't get swamped and overwhelmed by RPing on top of my summer coursework for school and my 40+ hours of work a week! Please be patient with me as I try to get this rolling, and if you don't have a tag within a week, feel free to nudge me in PM about it.

Very cool idea heart
Polaris' team in the making has a similar kind (focusing more on youma then negas, big on information, huge focus on civilians and protecting them) of vibe sooo if you were interested in a team allience of sorts when things get up and running I'd totally be up for it. http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=21590957

That'd be great, Iris! Magellan isn't going to be starting this out with the intent to form a team, but hopefully as things go along she'll end up with a team on her hands anyway. And since she and Polaris don't like each other at all, I think it would be funny (and also good character growth!) for them to have to set that aside and work together for the greater good.
Of course, if this never gets off the ground/not enough interest is formed for two groups, we could totally discuss integrating the groups and whatnot, but for now, I'd like to see where they can go on their own since Magellan's intentions are pretty singular at the start. =) <3

Daniel wouldn't join the group itself (because he is of the mind that his best spot is hiding somewhere save. Potentially filming this damn madness) but he is a youma bait, so Magellan could run into him in her early goes and yoink the youma as he goes into hiding ? Would also extend for... pretty much everyone, ahaha. If you need a warm body in a youma fight, tho it doesn't count as a battle with only one powered I believe. I LOVE TO TORTURE DANIEL GUYS LET ME TO IT :V

Daniel looks like an adorable, squish lamb, SO OF COURSE I'D LIKE TO TERRORIZE HIM both with a youma and Magellan. Totally up for this! <3
And it occurs to me that I owe you a tag elsewhere, don't I? I'm sorry, I've been so busy and scattered lately. I'm trying to dig up my tags and respond to them, so I should have a tag to you in a few days if I do in fact owe one!
