You aren't simply finished when you learn to summon an animal. With your sensei's permission, you can come to the land of beasts in between missions and train, learn new summonings, and even try for sage mode. However, learning sage mode is a long and difficult process. It is an S-ranked technique.

Coming to the land of beasts is also a great way to relax and make animal friends. You can only travel to the land of the animal you have a natural affinity for, however.

Sage Mode

This is quite a tricky business. Sage mode is one of the most powerful things a ninja can achieve. It requires absolute concentration and dedication, and takes so long to achieve. But once it's yours, you can do so many amazing things you could not do before.

Stage 1: Summoning

This is the first part to learning how to achieve sage mode. You must first be able to summon at least 3 of the animals that you have a natural affinity for. This shows your commitment to the animal and allows the sage animal leader to allow you to learn sage mode. Once you know how to summon 3 of the creatures, you may begin sage mode training stage two, after you've been assigned an animal teacher.

Stage 2: Gathering Natural Energy

This is the second stage, gathering and feeling for natural energy. You must meditate with your animal guide. You may make long posts and post again without waiting for anyone else to post. It will take exactly 1,000 words in order to first begin gathering natural energy. You may speak with your animal guide, get frustrated, whatever, as long as you can post 1,000 words.

When you reach the end, you will start to turn into your animal. Your animal guide will hit you in the head and congratulate you on learning to feel natural energy.

Stage 3: Assisted Sage Mode

You must now learn how to gather just the right amount of natural energy without overdoing it or under doing it. This is another 1,000 words. However, you have more to work with, as your guide can hit you a bunch as you try to gather energy. You'll use toad oil ((which you can borrow from a toad, or collect from an underground oil vein)) to help you gather natural energy. By the end of your 1,000 words, you should have mastered assisted sage mode. Congrats, but you'll only be able to use that within your animal village, and not in the rest of the world.

Stage 4: True Sage Mode

Now you must learn to gather natural energy without the toad oil. This will take a final 1,000 words. This time, you must sit perfectly still. You can get creative in the ways your animal guide helps you achieve this. But, with the final 1,000 words out of the way, you can become a sage! You may have any color eye shadow and eye color during your sage mode transformation. You're stronger, better, faster, awesome-er!

Stage 5: Senjutsu

Now that you have sage chakra, you can begin learning sage jutsu! These kinds of jutsu are only available in sage mode, and are extremely powerful. Because you went through all the trouble of learning sage mode, each senjutsu technique is only 500 words to learn. These, you can make up yourself. You must PM it to me, not another mod, and I will approve it or tell you what needs to be changed.

Stage 6: Fusion ((Optional))

Here is where those who DON'T have a bijuu are at an advantage. Fusion can only be achieved by those that are not hosts, regardless of whether or not the host has mastered their bijuu. This one only takes 200 words, so it should be a snap to learn! Simply put, the animal sits on you or clings to you, standing still and gathers natural energy. This allows you to have a permanent sage mode, as long as the animal is connected to you the whole time. Rocks!

Sage Tech

Another very cool plus to having sage mode is powering up jutsu that you already have. For example, if someone knew rasengan and wanted to power it up in sage mode, they would simply add sage tech to the front of the word. Instead of saying Rasengan, they would say Sage Tech: Rasengan

Sage Tech: Is also added to every Sage jutsu learned and used. These techniques are also very powerful, and hard to match in any case. So happy saging!
