Weapons

If your weapon is made of metal, you must either have a Blacksmith's Forge or have access to one before you can start crafting. It goes without saying that you cannot use multiple types of metals in one weapon.

Note: Due to its weakness, gold cannot be used entirely as a weapons material. However, you may elect to plate your weapon with gold.

More items will be added to the list upon request.

Aian Nakkuru
A bladed iron knuckle worn on the hand. There is also a sharp blade at the end of the tool. The weapon is very effective for individuals who prefer hand to hand combat.
Requirements: Blacksmith's Forge, 1 Metal
Blacksmith DC:
Successes: 10/10 per knuckle.

Aikuchi
The Aikuchi is a small dagger 1 inch smaller than a tanto that can be hidden in easily in any type of clothing. It's a favored weapon by Kunoichis.
Requirements: Blacksmith's Forge, 1 Metal, 1 Timber, (optional: 1 Cloth to wrap the hilt with)
Blacksmith DC:
Successes: 10/10

Bo {Staff}
A Bo is normally around 2m long or at the very least 6 inches longer than the person height for purposes of attacking and maneuverability. Bo users typically spin the weapon around to distract the enemy while looking for an opening and then strike using the momentum from the spinning movements.
Requirements: (If Metal) Blacksmith's Forge, 2 Metal (If Wood) 3 Timber
Blacksmith DC:
Successes: 10/10

Butterfly knife
The butterfly knife is a weapon used mostly for stealth purposes as well as showing off. The knife's ability to close and open hiding the knife inside the handle make this 3-part weapon a great choice when fighting in close quarters. You can also perform butterfly knife tricks to impress crowds!
Requirements: Blacksmith's Forge, 1 Metal, 1 Timber
Blacksmith DC:
Successes: 12/12

Butterfly sword (per weapon)
The butterfly sword is a short sword with a broad weapon that is mostly used in set of 2. "One in each hand" The sword main ability or combat style is based on the old saying "2 swords serve your lord better than one". On combat one sword would be used to parry enemy attacks while the other sword launched an attack to the enemy's open spots.
Requirements: Blacksmith's Forge, 1 Metal
Blacksmith DC:
Successes: 10/10

Tekagi (per weapon)
There are two types of tekagi, the more well-known knuckle claws and the more effective neko-de (cat's claws). The knuckle claws are four blades connected to gloves by each knuckle while the neko-de claws are claws concealed inside the fist, curved to resemble tiger claws. These deadly claws are often used in surprise melee attacks to attack someone when they are off-guard since the claws are easy to conceal in a kimono (with Sleight of Hand).
Requirements: Blacksmith's Forge, 1 Metal
Blacksmith DC:
Successes: 8/8

Wooden Arrow
A common arrow with a pointed tip at the end of a shaft with fletching to make it fly straight. Each completed exercise gives 10 Arrows.
Requirements: 1 Timber, 1 Feathers

Requirements: 1 Timber, 1 Feathers
Craft DC: 16
Successes: 6/6

Fire Arrow
An ignition source of some kind is wrapped around the rear of the arrow tip and lit on fire before firing. Each completed exercise gives 12 Arrows.
Requirements: 1 Timber, 1 Feathers, 1 Powder, 1 Paper
Craft DC: 14
Successes: 6/6

Shuriken
The shuriken is a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was used for throwing and sometimes stabbing. They are small, sharpened, hand-held blades made from a variety of everyday items, such as needles, nails, and knives, as well as coins, washers and other flat plates of metal. They were not designed to kill but rather to distract, harass, scare and deliver poison. This is the weapon that gave ninjas the reputation for being able to attack with "a wave of their hand". They were actually throwing shuriken, but as the shuriken cut through the skin and disappeared into the distance it was as if a cut had appeared by magic. Each completed exercise gives 10 Shuriken.
Requirements: Blacksmith's Forge, 1 Metal
Blacksmith DC: 8
Successes: 5/5

Senbon
The senbon was first used by doctors in acupuncture, it was then adopted by ninja and Hunter-nins to hit points on the body to cause death, deaden limbs or cause their target to fall unconscious. Each completed exercise gives 10 Senbon.

Craft Guide:

    What is the Craft skill?

As the name states, the Craft skill is a skill that allows you to craft certain items at lower prices. Not to mention that it also allows you to create signature items of you own and even items that surpass the powers of the gods (not literally). Simply, the craft skill allows you to transform iron and other materials into weapons and other mundane items.

What do we use it for?

The Craft skill can be used to craft weapons, mundane items, traps, clothing and even toys. Each will have a different DC and cost depending on the size of the item and how special it is. Of course this guide will guide you step by step in the process of making an item. The main idea of this skill is to help you save hard earned money and to help you customize your character to the maximum.

    Why craft?

The answer is simple... Flavor... Also, to cut costs.

    Using the Craft skill:

To use the Craft skills you must first select Craft (Insert type of crafting here) as one of your skills. Either that or you must be trained to obtain the skill. As for using the Craft skill you must first design what you are going to craft in your mind. After that you might want to think what kind of materials you want to craft the weapon with. Let's say you want a katana that has your character's name engraved on the handle with gold. Simple, you craft the katana in your mind and simply purchase enough iron (or any material you're going to use) and gold. Then refer to the list of common crafts to make the weapon.

    Types of Crafts:
  • Craft (Alchemy): This skill allows you to combine many raw materials into a completely new substance with a different or stronger use. Such as for example combining a few herbs to make a healing salve, or combining a few chemical ingredients to form explosive powder.
  • Craft (Blacksmith): This skill allows you to craft all kinds of weapons, no matter the size or the price as long as you can meet the requirements for the item and obviously the prize for the materials.
  • Craft (Misc): This skill allows you to craft mundane items such as rulers, vials, vases and anything that can be commonly sold in a marketplace.
  • Craft (Puppets): A special craft skill for puppet masters, this skill allows you to craft your own customized puppet as well as repairing it in case it was needed to.

DC of each craft:

The DC of every item depends on many factors: how much effort you need to place on crafting the item, the materials used, the facilities used to create the item and over all the time spent on the item. Next I will provide you with a small example guide of different crafts and their DC.

PostPosted: Sat Sep 10, 2011 7:06 am

DC Modifiers:

To calculate the DC and post count of the item all you need to do is + all the factors that are associated with the item you are crafting. After that is done you add the total to the basic DC (provided in the next post) and there you go. You are ready to craft, if you meet the requirements of course.

Factors to keep in mind when crafting a weapon.
  • Item size.
  • Material used and rarity of material.
  • Amount of materials.
  • Type of work: “Master work, mundane work, sexy work ?”

    Size modifiers:

  • Larger Size: +3 DC, x1.5 Materials, +5 Checks
  • Smaller Size: +2 DC, x0.5 Materials, -2 Checks

    Material modifiers:
  • Uncommon Material: DC +1
  • Rare Material: DC +2
  • Multiple Materials: +5 DC, +7 Checks

    Type of Work:
  • Masterwork: DC +7, Weapon Damage and Attack Rolls +2

    Crafting a puppet:

    Check the puppet thread.

Master Work and God's Legacy Weapons:

A Master Work weapon is a weapon crafted with special care and dedication. This weapon can be considered as unique as a Daimyo sword. A master work weapon can be sold for 3 times its normal price. A master work weapon wielder also receives +2 in attack rolls and damage on every attack he/she makes.
