To set the example, here's my gallery. I say "mini" because I have larger galleries on Deviant Art and Facebook. Follow me there to see all my old work and my newest pieces. Here are some favourites:

It's all in my DA account. But since you asked...

From left to right, top to bottom:

- Wench Works—I love her watercolor work, and watercolors were my medium of choice before I converted to Digitalism. Still, the simplicity and natural earthen tones inspire me.
- J. Scott Campbell—I love his detail and expressions; even though you can’t see Hook’s eyes in that little thumbnail, you know what he’s thinking. Campbell’s work makes me feel simultaneously inspired and hopeless, but I hope someday I’ll have as expressive a pencil as he.
- Michael Turner (and Aspen Comics)—R.I.P., this man was the Hercules or Achillies of comics. He was a hero and an idol and just an all-around AMAZING guy, and I’m so sad that I didn’t even know who he was until after he died. I’m in the process of collecting his work so I can study it.
- Vyrl—I am so in love with this style and coloring, and try to imitate the graceful lines, but I know I fail miserably. I also try to mimic the proportions of the art subjects and I think I’m starting to get close.
- Vin Diesel—I love his attitude, work ethic, and creativity. Every time I’m feeling blue, blocked, or just bored, I watch one of his movies or a featurette and feel better.
- Sak (Canadian-Rainwater)—She has so much humor in her art and she’s so passionate about it! I love her poses and study them regularly to see if I can tap into how her brain processes anatomy and physical mechanics.
- Labyrinth (and Brian Froud)—Whimsical, sinister, sexy, innocent, it’s like all my fantasies from childhood wrapped into a single movie. There’s 2D art, sculpting, costuming, cosmetic artistry and, of course, music!
- Dinotopia—I have been inspired and influenced by this series since I was very young. This is one of the reasons I wanted to pain so badly, even if my medium of choice is different from the oils used. The detail and energy of the pictures—even the static landscapes—always held my attention for hours. I never got tired of this art.
- Orpheelin—Again, it’s her lines and coloring that draw me in and I wish I could emulate better. I really like the facial proportions on her subjects, and that has influenced a lot of mine too.
- Selina Finch—Her colors are the biggest influence, so vibrant and playful.
- Nature (sharks are one of my favorite animals)—Draw from real life, everyone says. Sharks also have this energy that crackles around them, even when they’re passive. I wish I could get more of that in my art.
- Jim Lee—Another comic legend I adore, this time for his anatomy. I’ve never been a fan of shading with hatching, but I love the rough feel to his style combined with precision lines.
- J Korim—I fell in love with Neozoic and now I’m hooked on all his art. I love the way he draws legs—so supple and always bent (it’s rare to see a picture of his with straight legs, but since my straight legs always look more like pegs than limbs, I’m trying to take a few pose lessons).
- Tim Shumat—Every time I see some of his art, it’s like an awesome-gasm with his composition and coloring. The contrast and use of soft shades to ramp up the drama really captivate me.
- Hito—One of my first idols on D.A., I love her sketching and the way she pulls emotion out of her subjects. Her uses of different styles and mediums—all the while staying true to her own artistic character—really inspire me and encourage me to try new things so I don’t get locked into one particular look.
- Meredith Dillman—Another watercolor artist I’ve always admired for the way she can get those tiny details!
