User Image the Spice Jar
Add some spice to your roleplaying life!
written by Winged Timberwolf

Hello, folks, and welcome to the first-time report of the Spice Jar! My name is Timber, and I'm collecting interesting viewpoints on roleplaying and how to make yourself improve as a writer!
This week, I interviewed none other than the fabulous buddy of WTNC, and my faithful co-worker, Trixie Buddy!
My questions revolved around the theme of roleplaying and how she does it. Let's take a look at her answers to my questions!

Q: What made you join WTNC?

A: I joined because my best buddy, Timber, gave me the courage to break out of my shell and share some creativity with the world. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never joined no matter how awesome it was! I was always shy and paranoid of copy cats, but she helped me grow out of it some. J

Q: What inspires you when you create a new character?

A: Either a dream, a character I already have for my original story (usually this one), or it just comes to me. I am picky about what ideas I like best, which is why it takes so long to make a new character. I put a lot of thought and heart into each one! icon_wink.gif

Q: Does that mean you pre-plan, or research, information about your specific character prior to finalizing them, or do you just make it up as you go along?

A: I pre-plan, but no research unless it is looking up natural behavior of a type of animal and their social interactions. I aim for originality as best I can :3

Q: What has been the most challenging aspect of roleplaying for you, and what tips would you give a fellow roleplayer to avoid/overcome said challenge?

A: Well, sometimes I have a hard time with confidence; I worry my characters are not all that great…but I know that most people feel that way and I just remind myself that it is NEVER as bad as you think it is. You are, after all, your own harshest critic!

Q: In closing, is there anything else you'd like to say to your readers about the guild or roleplaying in general?

A: I have to say that I LOVE RPing!!!!! it gives me much inspiration and character development! Not to mention it is where all the creative people gather!! That’s right, I’m talking to you! YOU are amazing!!! >: D

WELL, that about wraps it up! What a doll, eh folks? Hope that you were able to add some spice to your ol' jar of rolerplaying. Please do read again next time for some more interesting tips!

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Foxfire's plot spoiled?

Hello there this is your faithful reporter, Trixie, speaking. For those of you who have yet to get in on the scoop, Foxfire-that's right, Foxfire, our believed and loyal SeaClan warrior- was believed to be the head cat behind the plot to rise to power and take over Shiftpelt (the newly appointed deputy)'s role in the clan! Who would have thought, huh? We took the pleasure of going around and asking a few cats what they thought about the rumor. We got response from "I never trusted the guy" to "...who's Foxfire? who are you, why are you asking me these questions?" Well folks, it's safe to say that none of us expected what had come next! So, what happened exactly, you ask? Well...
Foxfire had lured Echosong away out on a hunt and killed her, throwing her over the cliff and disposing of another threat to his glorious plan, but was caught in the act by Moss-star and her new found daughter, Griffonpaw. He had to think quick, that clever tom! The climax of this news is when he took Griffonpaw by surprise, demanding Moss-star make him deputy or her daughter would have to face the consequences!!! Not to worry readers, things worked out for the best...or not. Moss-star and Foxfire met their untimely death when Moss-star lunged to save her daughter from a killing blow and sent both cats spiraling off the same cliff! Griffonpaw leapt off the cliff and tried to save her mother, Alas, StarClan would have Moss-star that night, but left her with enough breath to give her daughter one last gift! Then the beloved leader died, leaving behind a shaken up GriffonSEA and a horrified Clan asking "Who will lead us now?" Eyes turn to Shiftpelt for guidance now, putting her under the spotlight.
But the even bigger questions remains to be seen-who will be the next deputy? Is Griffonsea perhaps worthy of the honor after such a daring rescue attempt? Could it be Frostfern, ever-faithful warrior (and mate to one of the former deputies)? Will I ever stop asking questions? We shall soon find out!

Big cats spotted!!! Clan leaders have only the rubble as clues!

Last night there were crazed and frightened cats screaming of giant wildcats who had "rushed into camp and torn up the place!" Now, could this really be the case, or is this just another story of the cat who cried Star Slayer? To those with doubt rumbling in their bellies, the destruction left behind certainly helps to back up their case. In BreezeClan, one she-cat tells us her account. "Serpentfang had never seen such a thing before! This she-cat looked like StarClan had taken a wariror and given it the strength and size of twenty warirors! She batted away warriors like she was a grizzly bear and they were the honeybees! Could this have been what Galestar was talking about?" Maybe so, random cat, maybe so. BreezeClan has not been the only place to have received such reports, however! A recent oucurance in Nightclan has happened as well, leaving trails of blood behind which will be sure to leave stains for weeks! All warriors fought bravely to defend their Clan, many not making it to see the next day. The beast was said to be heard calling out for the NightClan leader, Lavenderstar. Another random bystander has this to say:"I was in the den with Silentkit when this awful roar spread across the camp! This big wildcat- bigger'n you've ever seen in your whole LIFE-came running in and started smashing all the dens! He looked like he was from LionClan- and boy was he HUGE! He attacked the nursery first, but I fought bravely and dragged Silentkit from his nasty paws! Unfortunately, Frogkit, Reedkit, and Whiskerkit were killed... I saw it right before my eyes-they were squished like bugs! And the big cat was swatting away warriors like they were made 'a clouds or somethin! It was really scary, but I wasn't afraid-I felt like I had seen this big cat before, someplace...in a battle far away..." Rightly so, strange kitten who sees people before she meets them!
Unfortunately it would seem these cats are just too hot to handle. Is there any hope for the clan and will these monstrosities return for a second serving of destruction? Will the OTHER two Clans perhaps be attacked?! Where in the world did these cats come from? For the warriors, it's horrifying, but for the leaders and medicine cats, it's what has been foretold.

Well I sure did have to sneak around to get those answers (and I got chased off a few times by angry warriors)! Thanks for reading and tune in next time! <3

Hot Spots

The latest guild-wide news!
written by Winged Timberwolf

Ello folks! For those active critters, this column might be a bit repetitive, but for those a you who missed out, why not read on to find out the hot threads that've been burning with popularity as of late?!

Kittypets Burn Down the House!!

The newest Kittypet threads have been burnin a hole in the guild's pajamas, oh bee oh boy! The most popular of said join-threads (two threads being Urban and City Kittypets) is the City RP, where cats badder than spoiled catmint milk have daily showdowns and apparently dismember each other! Alphonse, iZann's dastardly villain, is gaining a following in the RP, and is undoubtedly currently the most violent (having been the only cat to have committed said dismembering). Don't forget that 2 spots have been added to the kittypet limit- 2 KITTYPETS! But two is all you're allowed to have, so get picky!

Cat Show Promises to be Blazing

If you haven't heard, there's a handy dandy cat show poppin up at the end of June! Get your best roleplaying skills together and slam those keys because we're rewarding the best of the best for their bestness! Cats are the only ones who win the awards, of course, but like any Cat Show, your goal is to collect as many awards for as many cats as possible!
So discuss, suggest, and derp around here!!

Lounging Den Burns to Da Ground!

...Well, theoretically. Activity's been boosting up in there for quite a while now-why not relax and go play some games? The most popular games include the Boys vs. Girls game (with a score of 1-1 wins) and the Chatroom. Why not stop by between roleplaying and hang out, hm?
