One their way back to the lab, for the third time, they had stopped in at this little tavern. Victoria had found it on their last trip there and like every other tavern they visited she had easily won them over and they gave her a place to to stay and a place to work when ever she was around.
She had just finished wiping down the tables and was currently upstairs settling Alison down for a after lunch nap.
Auden liked that he didn't have to nap after lunch. He liked the lunch hour at the taverns because he got to meet people from time to time. He was located in the back right corner, a table for four that could comfortably fit three at the most. You couldn't miss him. He was completely white, blindingly so against the dark brown wood. On the table was a box of his recently collected tidbits.

The Harrington's had been out and about all day, and were becoming a bit peckish. The tavern seemed safe enough, and Bethlem insisted that they go in as soon as she lay eyes on the sign, declaring that 'a golden opportunity laced in ivory awaited them'. You see, Bethlem had a second sight ability...in one eye, and she refused to cover it up, so she could see the future(or past) and the present at the same time, so it was really hard to figure out what was really going through her head.
Stacie, the guardian of the group, told Ballare to take Bethlem and find a seat while she use the restroom, but Bethlem had already vanished from his sight,
Bethlem herself popped up almost unexpectedly next to Auden. "Hello..." she said in an odd sort of voice. "Have we met yet? It's hard for me to tell..."

Auden glanced over at the female, or what he guessed was one... He should have known better than to guess because after all he was a boy that looked very much like a girl. He smiled politely as he shook his head, "Can't say that we have." Due to all the people he saw in a day he could be mistaken but he doubted it. The girl next to him was strikingly different compared to the others the tavern usually saw.
"Your jewelry is pretty," he glanced at the shiny bits in her ears, wrists, and legs. Suddenly though his eyes snapped back to his box- he had remembered his mom saying it wasn't polite to stare. He wasn't sure if that was what he was doing but he didn't want to get in trouble so he avoided what he thought was staring.. He shuffled around his box and pulled out some string.

Bethlem smiled. "Ah yes...right..." She held her odd looking eye closed for a bit. "That's better. That's what time it is, got it," she said to herself before she allowed her eye to open once again.
"Thank you Auden," she said, not realizing that she had thanked him by name even though he hadn't told her it yet. It was just natural to her knowing new people by their names due to her orange eye letting her she into the future along her normal eye that always stayed in the present. An eyepatch would fix this problem but she refused to wear one, and only closed one eye to gain footing of what actually was going on.
"Oh, your string!" she commented as she looked at it. "It looks very nice today!"

Auden did not think twice about the small girl next to him knowing his name. He assumed that she probably over heard it from one of the waitress that was flitting about. "So what is your name?" He knew no one around here would probably know her so he wasn't going to her name by the same means.
"My string looks nice today-," He mumbled as he held it up and studied it. "Will it look bad tomorrow?" He was not sure what exactly could happen to his string. Well, with the exception of putting it to use.

Bethlem smiled. "I am Bethlem!" she chimed before she stared at the string again when he questioned her.
"Oh, well it will still be nice string tomorrow as well" she merely said, because he only asked about tomorrow. She folded her dark skinned hands together and looked at him with a bright grin.

"Hello there Bethlem," Victoria said from behind her. She had over heard the name. One hand held a tray, the other had was on her hips. "I thought you two could use some snacks," she giggled as she slid a couple plates on the table. It was a typical plate of fruit, cheese, and crackers. "If you want something special let me know."
"Thanks mom," Auden said as he put the string down and picked up one of the fruits. "Well I guess if my string is going to be okay..." he bit into the piece of apple. "These are my favorite."

"Bethlem! There you are!" Ballare commented as he trotted over, carefully weaving his taur body around the other customers. He didn't realize that the woman that served the food to her and the other...boy was it?, was the young one's mother. "You know you shouldn't order food without me or mom around..."
"I didn't order it, she brought it as a snack," Bethlem merely replied as she took a cracker and placed some cheese upon it before devouring it. "Yum," she cooed. She did love her cheese, though she preferred it melted.
"Did you ask her to bring it, because that's ordering..." Ballare inquired.
"No, she just brought it, didn't she Auden?" Bethlem turned to the body, hoping he would back her up so her brother would stop being so worrisome.

Auden finished chewing on his apple. He was always told not to talk with his mouth full. "Bethlem's right. My mom brought it to us." He pushed the plate towards the new comer. "Eat up. There is more than plenty. But, if you don't like what is there she told us that if we wanted anything special to just ask." He smiled as she glanced around to find out which table his mom was currently at. "We move around a lot. She waits tables and does odd jobs to pay for our room and board."
