Oh okay. I mean obviously you don't look Native Ameican at all but I thought maybe you had a little in you or something.
Semi-random question: have you ever had a NA get pissed off at you for wearing that stuff?

haha i dunno, i've never actually run into any native american people while wearing that stuff. i don't wear them often because the pouch itself is like totally weak (it broke a little like partway through the party so i had to take it off), and as for the earrings, i get so paranoid about losing them that i rarely wear them. i think native american culture and stuff is super awesome. i wish i was native american just so it'd look like i was interested in my heritage instead of some dumb white hipster kid or something :S

Oh, we have a lot of Native American people around here so I just kinda assume everyone sees them daily, lol. /ignorant.
Anyway I was just asking because one of my friends (who's partly NA; grew up on a reservation) got extremely pissed off at this girl on tumblr for posting a picture of a white girl in an elaborate NA headdress. The girl posting the pic posted it because she liked the tattoos, and my friend ranted about how she was unfollowing her because she supported racism, etc, etc. And she added "It's a sacred culture, not a god damn trend."
I had no idea they were that sensitive about those things until then. I mean maybe not all of them are, but...my friend is pretty chill, so it really surprised me. eek

well i can imagine, i mean it's tumblr of all things. it's like when people get all antsy about kanji tattoos and everything. when people show appreciation for culture outside of their heritage, it can get uncomfortable/annoying as s**t for others. especially if they're only celebrating/showing off the culture because it's fashionable. but i pinky swear i really like native american s**t and i'm totally studying that stuff in college so don't burn me

Yeah, but there isn't a history of white people ******** the British over. Taking their land, killing their people, generally, y'know, being huge dickweeds.

... I'd wager a large majority of them do, and even if they don't, I can understand why they'd get pissed to see whitey wearing their s**t (no offense).

Tenacious Travis Yeah, but there isn't a history of white people ******** the British over. Taking their land, killing their people, generally, y'know, being huge dickweeds. that's not entirely true. we were just more accepting of changes... and further back than that i still have no bad feelings towards norwegians.

Well I mean I just don't get it because it's not like we have control over what our ancestors did. And why can't we wear the stuff because we appreciate it? Whateva. Bitches be touchy. talk2hand

I understand the headdress thing, since wearing them was a pretty sacred tradition back before we tried to completely eradicate Native American culture, lol.
But Buttcheeks, you look adorable. C:
