Escavalier - The Cavalry Pokemon
Greetings PWF, I bring to you my first PotW, Escavalier! Lets get right into learning about this metal monster.

Trivia
Escavalier sports the highest Attack among Bug types, and is tied with Metagross and Excadrill for highest Attack of all Steel types. It is said to be a brave Pokemon that will face any challenge, even when in trouble. Pokedex entries claim that Escavalier flies around at high speeds, however this is not the case, it's base speed is among the slowest, and is incapable of having the ability Levitate.
Escavalier is among my favorite. A brave, fearsome knight, protecting it's trainer or friends at any cost. Now for the stats.
HP: 70
Attack: 135
Defense: 105
Sp.Atk: 60
Sp.Def: 105
Speed: 20
Although slow in speed, it makes up for it in incredible bulk and power. It will put many dents in anything that doesn't resist it, while being capable of enduring any attacks used against it.
Abilities:
Swarm: This ability increases the power of bug type moves by 1.5x when Escavalier has less then or equal to 1/3 of it's max HP remaining. While it will make Escavalier pack an even bigger punch, it is risky to use outside of Trick Room, as Escavalier does not have the speed to sweep and will find itself in positions where the opponent can finish it off before it has a chance to do anything major.
Shell Armor: With Shell Armor, you will never have to worry about critical hits. This ability goes great with his bulk, as you will never have to fear being killed by a critical from a move that would have barely damaged you.
Overcoat: Escavalier's Dream World ability. A rather redundant ability. It removes the damage caused by weather, mainly Hail and Sandstorm. Being a Steel type, it is already immune to Sandstorm, and hail isn't seen that often. I do not suggest having this ability with any type of Escavalier.
Moves:
Escavalier has a rather shallow move pool compared to other Pokemon. Some if it's more useful abilities are only available through breeding as well. Lets take a look at what he can do.
Iron Head: A great move for taking care of those pesky rock types, 80 Power and 100% Accuracy. It can also cause the target to flinch, in case it doesn't take care of it in a single blow. Though, unless he's in Trick Room, he won't be moving fast enough to cause flinch most of the time.
Reversal: Depending on Escavalier's HP, this move has the potential to do massive damage. Though extremely risky to use, it can raise up to 200 power if you can manage to have Escavalier live with 4% HP. Use it at your own risk.
Megahorn: This is Escavalier's most powerful move. At 120 power it packs enough punch to make anything that doesn't resist bug quiver in fear. It even makes bulky Pokemon think twice before switching into this attack. It is an inaccurate move however, but that should not stop one from using it, as the power of this move will threaten many Pokemon.
Knock Off: This move removes any items the opposing Pokemon may be holding. Though not as strategy affecting as Trick is, can still cause some damage in your opponents strategy. It is also the only thing you can do against Skarmory as well.
The only real threat to Escavalier are Fire attacks. If he is in the Rain he has a chance to survive a hit or two, but otherwise he will generally always be OHKO by fire attacks. Another thing to watch out for is Skarmory, as it will not fear Escavalier's attacks at all. Oh yea, and watch out for that WIll'O'Wisp.
Escavalier works best in a Trick Room environment if you want to sweep, and just as great if you're defending with him in the Rain. Rain and Trick Room combined however is where he truly shines.
