Describe how gun regulation would be like in your country if it were exactly the way you wanted. I would make it so that guns are registered with the federal government instead of state government (so you can carry a gun with you when you travel) and gun laws would basically be the same for every state. Fully automatic and select fire weapons would be much easier to obtain legally, however they would require an expensive purchase permit (maybe 500 bucks or so) and a background check to look for any history of violence or crime whatsoever (besides things like traffic tickets of course). You can carry any handgun that is registered to you in public, concealed or not, except in places where alcohol is served. Fully-automatic weapons are never to be worn or brandished in public. There is no limit on magazine capacity, however only one spare magazine may be carried on your person for defense purposes. Handguns can be worn inside a vehicle, but fully-automatic guns must be kept in the trunk or any other area that is not accessible from the cab. If anyone is caught in possession of an unregistered gun, or a gun in someone else's name that was recently stolen, it is automatically assumed that that gun either had been used to murder someone or was going to be used to murder someone, and the offender is considered guilty of murder (not going to go into my personal ideas on the penalty for murder). A person is allowed to keep one gun per adult in the household outside of a gun safe for home defense purposes, but all other firearms are to be kept locked up (aside from very primitive guns or ones with the firing pin removed). If there is some accident caused by your children getting their hands on one of your guns (not someone else's kid, but yours) you are considered not responsible enough to have guns and your right to bear arms is rescinded. I think I covered just about everything, now it's your turn.

not sure why you decided to add some restrictions.

heres a few things most people dont realize

under current law....
-guns dont have to be registered to anyone period unless they were an NFA item.
-guns arent registered to someone by states or by fed gov.... only the serial numbers are registered. if the owners start getting registered then we're all ******** carry permit holders dont need to register a handgun to carry, they just carry whatever handgun they choose to carry and thats that.

500 dollars is a small sacrifice to pay compared to a $16,000 transferable M16 with the laws and market today.
not criticizing it but compared to the current prices it's not very expensive. the crazy prices nowadays is due to scarcity of transferable pre 1986 MG's

as for my idea of what the laws should be...

-I believe that "shall not be infringed" means "shall not be infringed" and that means shall not be infringed in any way. except to those who nullify their right to own a weapon by becoming a criminal or are simply mentally incapable of safely handling a weapon.

select fire has no real reason to be restricted seeing as it's really not much more effective than pulling the trigger very quickly or using a bumpfire assist stock...which is something I can buy for 300 dollars right now and put it on an AR15 and essentially have the same effect as a select fire m16 that costs thousands more....

anything such as grenades, rockets or cannons should simply be regulated as any other dangerous explosive today as they arent so much as a form of armament as they are a destructive/anti material implement.

I think maybe the regulations on heavier weapons should be proportional to your acreage or otherwise membership in some kind of rifle club with pooled acreage or otherwise membership in a militia or similar format.

The reason is because some heavier weapons have extremely long range and penetration, and it just doesn't make sense to have something like a .50 cal machine gun or anti-tank weapon inside a tiny 1 bedroom apartment with cardboard walls and neighbors in 8 directions.

then again, I'm in Cali and everything here is illegal, so I'm actually trying to create more freedom, not less. If I was in Lebanon or Israel, I would want to have the right to own whatever I could fit through the front door, no questions asked.

I guess my bottom line is you need a place to shoot it. If you live in a war zone, that place is home.

I was actually thinking the other day that we should have a well organized militia. Something that is completely separated from the government and the military, but trains it's members just as well as the military does, and has access to all military weapons (except for nukes and other extremely devastating explosives, obviously). It would have ranks, medals, it's own special forces team, it's own navy and air force. Basically a copy of the U.S military that is not under the control of any form of government.
